It was nearing nightfall on the evening Gretchen was to meet with Sully for their showdown. She was relieved that the moment had finally arrived; she was desperate to have her revenge against the man who had killed her beloved Buck.
She moved over to face her prisoner, Sully's sister. "Well, it won't be much longer now," she said cruelly. "Your brother will be dead and you'll be free. I wish I could say it's been fun, but... well, you know." She laughed wickedly and called over to Quinn and Korbel.
"You two! Go guard the perimeters on each side! Let me know if you see Sully and Rochelle coming. And keep an eye out, in case they get any crazy ideas about bringing Zander's pack along..."

Quinn nodded. "Sure thing, Gretch," she replied. She glanced at Korbel. "I'll take the north and east, you take the south and west, OK? Just walk the perimeter and signal if you see anything. Use the dove call, OK?"
She shot a quick glance over at annoying Ashura. "I can't begin to tell you how glad I am we're going to be rid of you. But you'd better not do anything crazy... I can't hold myself responsible for accidentally killing you..." She smirked quickly, then headed off to begin her perimeter check.

"You got it," he said to Gretchen. Maybe today was going to be a good day. He wouldn't mind fighting a few of Zander's pack members. That would be an enjoyment.
Korbel nodded to Quinn. "Alright love," he said. He flashed a toothy grin in Ashura's direction and looked back to Quinn. "I'll see you in a bit." Korbel headed off in a south direction keeping his eyes and ears open for signs of Zander's pack.

It was with much trepidation that Sully set out, with Rochelle and the rest of the pack in tow, to meet with Gretchen. He didn't know what would happen, or if he'd ever return, but he knew that, at this point, the waiting and uncertainty were only making things worse. It was best to just do it, and let what happened, happen. If he died, then so be it. But he would give it his best.
Gretchen had specifically described the place where they should meet, but he followed behind Zander for most of the way. When they got close to where Gretchen was, they would split up and Sully and Rochelle would go on alone.

Zander led the way into the forest. With him was most of the pack--Pearl, Chloe, Karl, Dean, and David. Skye also accompanied them this time, leading the fragile Dawn with her. If they were going to exchange her for Ashura, they would need to have her here.

Since the treatment by Madam Pomfrey, Dawn had been steadily improving. She was still weak, but her attacks were becoming few and far between. She hadn't had any at all in three days. She was also beginning to have hazy memories that she couldn't quite grasp, but at least when she had them now, she didn't have a shaking fit. Even her headaches were getting better, and her pale skin was developing a healthy glow.
She followed quietly behind Skye, although her memory was now getting sharp enough that she probably could have led the way. They hadn't quite explained to her what was happening today, only that she was going back to Gretchen. But if that was true, why did Rochelle seem so sad?

Rochelle followed behind Zander, and beside Sully. She was supposed to have confidence, but as they neared to where Gretchen was, that confidence was slowly slipping. A lot of what if questions bounced around in her mind, but she knew that she couldn't let them fog her mind.
She took Sully's hand and glanced to him with a small smile. She was going to do whatever she could to keep him safe.

Following behind the rest of the pack, David kept his eyes open and watchful. He glanced to Skye every now and again and then on Dawn to make sure that she was making it alright, but he kept the majority of his attention on where they were going. He wanted to make sure that this Gretchen woman wasn't going to set up some sort of ambush on them.

Pearl stopped in her steps and laid a hand on each of her pack that passed, She tried to give as much assurance through her touch as she could, then she quickly made her way back through their ranks to be at Zander's side. This was a very big move for them as a pack, they were more than just breaking away, they were fighting off a rival. Pearl had it in her mind really not to let Dawn go, she was so weak and she felt certain that this pack was merely trying for a take down, Dawn was only their ploy not their reason.

Chloe walked beside Karl as they headed through the forest. She didn't have a great feeling about giving Dawn back to this woman. At first, Chloe didn't care to much for her, but Dawn was a real nice girl and she grew to like her.
She just tried to be calm as they were going to try and get one of their own back. Chloe just hoped that it didn't turn into a huge fight between the packs.

Karl walked close to Chloe, even as he kept his eye on Dawn. He couldn't help feeling protective of Dawn, even though she wasn't one of his pack members. But she had been so fragile when they found her, and it was nice to see that she was finally doing better. he could only hope that she wouldn't get worse again if they gave her back to Gretchen.
Up ahead, he recognized the scent of someone approaching. He vaguely recognized the scent and frowned.

It wasn't long before Quinn picked up their scent. Rochelle and Dawn, of course, she recognized instantly. And the blonde werewolf... and the young rebel. The pack leader was there, of course, along with a few others she didn't recognize.
So they intended to make a stand against Gretchen, did they? This would be a move they would regret.
As the scent came closer, she called out to them. "You'll have to stop there," she commanded. "Only the hunter and Rochelle and Dawn may come further."

Rochelle stopped as soon as she could smell Quinn. She fought the urge to snarl at her smell, and looked to Dawn. Nothing would happen to the three of them until they got to Gretchen. Looking to Zander, Rochelle nodded. "It's alright. We'll go. Just stay here." She motioned for Dawn to come come along. She wasn't going to be nervous any longer.
"Come on," she said looking confidently at the Sully and Dawn.

Zander shook his head. "No," he said firmly. "I am the leader of this pack, and I demand to see the leader of your pack face to face. She has one of my pack members and I have one of hers. I will only make the exchange if I am present to witness it. I also insist that my mate be present as well. We need to do this properly."

Pearl's chest swelled and she nodded when Zander finished speaking "We aren't going to let a worthless underling with less authority than lame pup separate us." Pearl was certain she could take the girl, for all ferocity the girl tried to put out, she would burn out quickly against Pearls' fighting. Had she been in her wolf form, her tail would be high and her hackles raised, as much as she hated to fight, she had reason to fight this time, for her pack. They were her world.

Quinn rolled her eyes. Stepping out of the trees, she stood in front of them with her hands perched on her hips. "Look, I don't care who you are," she said, leveling a glare at Zander. "But this isn't about you, chief. It's between my boss and him." She nodded toward Sully. "Ashura will be returned to you after the deed is done. And then Dawn can come with us. Capiche?"

Pearl snorted, she'd like to see her try. She stepped forward ready to continue heading toward the familiar and unfamiliar scents. She wasn't going to let another Alpha dictate the course of the action. What they asked was fair, while it was ideal for both parties to get what they want, the actions of this first underling only confirmed to Pearl they didn't really care for their pack member, not they had her hostage either, but she was their leverage to the situation.

Zander stepped forward as well, returning Quinn's glare. "Like it or not, your 'boss' involved us when she took Ashura. We're just as much a part of this as anyone else. And we're only asking for what's fair. We want to be there, and we're not taking no for an offer. We out number you right now, and we'll take you by force, if necessary." He pulled out his wand and pointed it at the girl. "Now. We're coming."

Dawn looked from Quinn to Zander and Pearl and back again, feeling desperately confused. These people had been so kind to her and had helped her to feel better for the first time in... well, longer than she remembered. But Quinn was her family. Why was she fighting with her new friends? And what were they talking about? It was all so confusing.
"Quinn? What's going on?" she asked.

Rochelle knew that Zander and Pearl both had a lot of courage, but Gretchen could be ruthless. However, Zander did have one of those sticks like Gretchen and Sully had. She did have to admire the courage.
She quickly turned to Dawn. She should have filled her in on everything, but she didn't want Dawn to worry about what was going on. "Gretchen is holding Matt's sister captive, because Gretchen wants to fight him. She's using Ashura as a way to make sure that he goes to her."
