Gretchen nodded at the female alpha. "All right, fair enough," she said. "It wasn't personal, and it wasn't an attempt to start a war with your pack. She was just a means to an end. I needed to get the hunter here, and she was the quickest way to do it. Now that he's here, I'll release her. How does that sound? You give me back Dawn, and I'll give you Ashura, and you can all be on your way, while I avenge my mate."
Turning to Quinn and Korbel, she said, "Untie the girl."

He did as he was told, and walked over to Ashura. Korbel gave Ashura a glance. It was a mixture of a sneer and a look of amusement. He looked over to Quinn as he began to untying the girl's arms.
The quicker they could untie Ashura, the quicker they could get rid of her and he would be relieved. Frankly, he was getting tired of her whining.

"That isn't good enough, We've at least treated Dawn as member of our pack! She herself has said how you had Ashura tied to a tree like a dog!" this woman's means to an end was her family and Pearl wasn't going to take it and accept it, it was admitting they were weaker than she was to submit to that sort of treatment of part of her family. "We aren't going to be the means to an end." she gave a quick look to Zander, She needed his support because this woman didn't have a mate, and given her pack, she didn't have too much support other than what she had gained by fear and loathing.

Zander nodded and folded his arms over his chest. "She's right. Just because you didn't mean to start a war with our pack doesn't excuse it. We agreed to the exchange, even though I actually doubt that you have the ability to care for Dawn properly. Since she's been with us, she has had fewer attacks and is getting stronger and healthier. Meanwhile, you've kept our pack member tied to a tree, and from the looks of her, you haven't even been giving her much to eat. You don't really think that we are just going to stand by and accept that kind of behavior against our pack? You may not have asked for war, but it's coming."

Gretchen sighed. "Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm not sure what you expect to do right now, though. We make the exchange, and I fight the hunter. That was the deal. I don't want you lot intruding on my fight with the hunter. I must have my revenge for Buck's death."

"Then We won't let you have your Revenge!" she stepped in front of the hunter, blocking him from the woman. "Call it My Revenge for my Ashura!" she put out her hands to keep the hunter where he was, she wasn't going to let a stray thought of deranged nobility get in the way of defending her packs honor and family. Pearl eyed the woman and saw her as half, she was half of everything she had been because she hadn't learned to live with just herself.

He continued to untie Ashura on Gretchen's orders. If it was up to him, they would have gotten rid of her a while back. Once he finished untying the rope he looked at Ashura one last time. He didn't understand why in the world he even toyed with her awhile back, although in a way it helped Gretchen get her so she could get to the hunter.
Korbel dropped the ropes and looked to Gretchen for any further orders.

Ashura looked around worriedly. She didn't understand what was going on. Why did everything have to involve fighting?
She eyed Korbel as he untied her. She hoped that something horrible happened to him, after all, she still felt upset over what had happened. He had used her. The thought of it made her frown even now.
Ashura looked to her brother and felt a little better than he was there. He came for her, as did the others. She took a small step forward after being tied up to the tree and walked toward her brother. Maybe now everything would be alright.

Gretchen's eyes flared dangerously. "Get out of my way," she snarled to Pearl. "Our battle is separate, and it needs to stay that way. I'll deal with you later, but the hunter is mine. I deserve the chance to get venegeance for the death of my mate!" She pulled out her wand and aimed it directly at Pearl. "Step aside, or I will have to force you to move!"

Dawn stood in the back next to Rochelle, watching the events with tears in her eyes. She had never seen this side of Gretchen, or Quinn, or Korbel, and it confused her greatly. This was her family and she couldn't understand why they were being so cruel. When Gretchen took out her stick thing, Dawn began to shake. "Please... Gretchen... don't do this...." she pleaded softly.

Zander drew his wand as well. "If you want to fight, Gretchen, we won't hesitate to fight back. This rest of my pack is in the woods not far from here, and I suspect, if they followed orders, they have been closing in and are ready for attack. Your underling there shouldn't have left them unguarded... although, even then, I've no doubt they could have overpowered her. You are outnumbered, Gretchen. Our pack is larger than yours." He nodded towards Dawn. "Do you see what the violence is doing to her? Do you really want to put her through that? Getting revenge on this man won't bring your mate back; I think you know that."

Pearl felt her heart swell with happiness. Zander could do just as much as this woman could do, but she was sure he could do better. "If you were a capable Alpha, Your pack would be healthy, but you're driven by revenge and bitterness!" She knew the wands, could be potentially deadly, but she wasn't going to let it show that she knew the danger they represented.

"My pack is fine!" Gretchen burst out. She advanced toward the red-haired female, pointing her wand at the girl. "You love your mate, do you not?" She said, shooting a look at Zander. "What would you do if I were to kill her right now? All it would take is a simple killing curse.... at this close range, there wouldn't even be time for her to duck out of the way... and even if she did, then the hunter would be killed in her place. Are you saying, Zander, that you would not want revenge for the death of this pretty redhead?"

"I would want revenge," Zander admitted. "But I would never kill in cold blood just to avenge the death of anyone I love, even Pearl. Because we're not in wolf form right now, Gretchen. We're human. And if you kill her, you cannot claim animal instincts or self-defense or anything else. It's just plain murder, and that's a crime. I would want you to go to prison. But I don't believe in an eye for an eye. It's not right."

Pearl Froze, she eyed the wand pointed at her with caution and distaste. This was so cowardly, She stood tense and scared for what could happen in the next moments. She didn't want to know what it was like to die! Her eyes widened at the thought of leaving Zander and waited as if balanced on a spear that would either impale her or she could escape from it

Gretchen could smell the fear and it brought a smile to her lips. But she only wanted to kill one person today, and the other pack's dominant female was not her intended target. "I'm not going to kill her," she said. "But I do need her out of my way. Stupefy!" she shouted, her wand still pointed directly at Pearl.

Pearl was shocked at what happened next, it felt like being punched. She realized she was falling and swore that she would get her back one day for this humiliation. She was in no position now to do anything she landed on the floor hard and lost all consciousness.

Zander ran to catch Pearl as she fell, but he was too late. She hit the ground, narrowly missing a large rock with her head. He immediately picked her up, glaring angrily at Gretchen. "Well, now it looks like you and I have to fight," he said. "You don't think I can allow you to treat her that way, do you?" He carried her over to the spot where Rochelle and Dawn were standing, and propped her up in a sitting position against a tree.

Rochelle thought about taking a step forward just after Gretchen said something and caused Pearl to freeze. A mixture of anger and worry fell across her face. She hadn't seen Gretchen do anything like that. Plus, Pearl didn't deserve what happened to her.
As Zander brought her over, Rochelle bent down to make sure that Pearl would not fall over, then glanced back to Gretchen.

Gretchen stared back at him, no trace of emotion on her face. "Yes, I imagine you will insist on fighting me. I suppose I would do the same if our situations were reversed. But we are here so that I may get my revenge for my mate. I think we should deal with that first. I'll kill the man who slew Buck, and then I will fight you, if that's what you wish. But for now, don't stand in my way. I must have vengeance!"
She turned from Zander and pointed her wand at Sully. "Are you ready?"
