Grace let him hold her and then when he spoke she came back into the moment. She sighed, she couldn't let the death get to her while she was at work. She just needed to hold it together for a bit longer then she could cry when she wasn't responsible for anyone's health. She wiped away the few tears that had escaped and looked at Moody. "I'm glad to know you'll be there to protect them, I'd trust you with my life and with those student's." It was the truth, if she could trust anyone, she knew that Alastor would do everything in his power to keep it from happening again.
"Just don't end up making me try to heal you from death, okay? I don't think I could stand it." She sighed again. Then he smiled and tried to lighten the mood and she appreciated it. It brought her back out of her grief and shock for the moment, there would be time to deal with that once she was off work.
"I don't care what they see, besides no one would dare come in while I'm examining a patient in these rooms without the proper notice. Besides you look cute in a blanket." She hugged him again before letting him go back to the table to sit again. She wiped away a stray tear before going back to business of checking on Moody's leg. "Let me see your leg again... does it still hurt? How about when I press here?" She pressed a spot waiting to see a response.

"I wouldn't put so much faith in me Grace, I couldn't prevent the death that did occur." His eyes took on the sadness they seemed to hold all the time nowadays. Sitting back on the bed he stuck his leg back out and tried to get the death off of his mind. Watching as she pressed a certain spot on his leg smiling to himself he admired her dedication to her profession, she reminded Alastor a lot of himself. "I am feeling something hun, but I dont think it could be considered pain." Smiling down at the beautiful mediwitch. "When you first started examining my leg, you had a certain look i've seen a million times. Ya know if you would like to know what happened to my leg. All you have to do is ask dear heart."

She looked at his face and the endearment wasn't lost on her nor was the comment, if she'd had any modesty left she would have been blushing. As it was her eyes were blushing instead as she looked at him.
"Alright then, what happened to your leg? When? and where does it still hurt?" The healer in her had to ask the last two questions, but it was the woman in her that asked the first. She watched him as he started to speak, and she stood there listening to him as her hands stayed on his injured leg unmoving.

Alastor couldn't believe he was trying to wow her with battle stories. He used the stories to impress little kids, he didn't think what he did was impressive, it was necessary. Alastor became an auror to protect those who could not or would not protect themselves. "Eh, Well it goes like this." Pausing for a moment he closed his eyes and was almost flooded with memories of being on the island fighting for that useless pendant. "I was ambushed on my last mission, I couldn't get an accurate count but i'd say six maybe seven." Cringing slightly he recalled the spells flying everywhere. "All I could do was defend myself, I was never able to get a single attacking spell off.."
Opening his eyes once more he was startled by seeing Grace in front of him, the memories of that horrible moment we're still so real in his mind he had forgotten where he was for a moment. "Well one of them dark daisies got an ounce of intelligence and noticed I was apparating in a pattern. Well I was fighting for an item, and I was able to hide for long enough to grab a hold of the item and apparate while he was still soiling his pants. Well when I popped in my leg was met with a fairly large rock." Pausing for a moment he winked at Grace and leaned in close to whisper in her ear.
"Then dear heart guess what? The great hero Alastor Moody apparated away and ran like a little girl." Chuckling he leaned back and looked down at his leg. "It doesn't hurt so much, it's a bit stiff. I came to double check because young Danielle was all in a panic when I left here last time. Figured it doesn't hurt...Plus I was able to get this beautiful mediwitch to see me immediately. Much more fun than sitting at home if I do say myself."

Grace wasn't sure if she wanted to frown at him for getting himself into so much trouble or smile for him sharing his story with her. Instead she settled for finishing examining his leg and scolding him with a smile. It was after all his job to be in danger, even if she didn't have to like it seeing him get himself hurt. "You should be more careful than that. What hairbrained idea made you decide to go into the midst of six or seven dark wizards for some trinket. I don't want to end up seeing you as a corpse one day. I can heal a lot of things, death is not one of them. And I'm glad you ran away, it's probably the only reason you lived. You aren't immortal you know and you're lucky to be alive if you ask me." Her eyes were still soft, and she was impressed that he'd made it out but it had been a foolish risk.
To emphesize her point she said, "I think you are making light of your leg, if you're still limping. You're sure there's no pain? And it was just a rock, no spells?" She'd noticed an odd twist to the way he was laying on it. A simple rock issue could be healed. It was certain curses that worried her, as not all could be completely recovered from the damage. And if it had just been bruised he wouldn't still be favoring it like that. She was tempted to make him stand and walk on it, but she didn't want to make mister modest have to walk around the room with a blanket if she could get the same information by asking him instead.

Alastor used a lot of willpower to resist smiling. The arguments Grace made were good but the same could be said for herself as well. Deciding it best to just sit there and take his scolding as she finished he looked up and his eyes met hers. "You wanna know why I jumped into battle over a stupid trinket." Reaching his hand out he placed it over Grace's heart. "The same thing that causes one of the best mediwitch's I have ever met to break down into tears when she hears about the senseless death of an innocent even though there was nothing that could be done." Smiling now, he pulled his hand back and placed it on back on the bed.
"Believe me dear one, I am glad I ran away as well but let's not get that one out. I do have a reputation to keep you know." Looking down at his leg as she began to ask him question after question about it. "Now why would I need to come here if I knew what was wrong with my leg? I'm sorry but the rock that nearly completely crushed my leg was a bit noticeable but no, I cannot say if anything else hit my leg, I was worried more about my life."

Grace smiled at Alastor softly, she knew why he did it, but that didn't mean she had to like it. Though she probably wouldn't be attracted to him if he didn't do what he did and for the reasons he did them. It was one of those catch 22's and she knew it. "You're secret is safe with me." She chuckled.
"Well it's in my job description to ask you twenty questions, just in case what you can tell me can save me time. I guess you'll just be stuck with me here longer then. And that means I need you to stand up and let me watch you walk... without your security blanket." she said with a pointed nod at his blanket. She knew he likely had some type of shorts on under the blanket and this time didn't turn around. She wanted to see how extensive the damage was to his leg and how badly it was really hurting him and where, by the way he walked. Laying down it didn't seem to cause pain other than the way he laid on it.

Alastor smiled as Grace said since he couldn't answer her questions he would have to deal with her longer. "Maybe I don't wanna answer your questions, just so I can spend more time with ya dear heart." Winking as he got up his blanket dropped to the ground exposing more than Alastor would like, he wore undershorts but his modesty refused to let him become comfortable like this. Walking around the room, his leg had a slight limp but nothing too bad. "What do you think? Will it live?" Chuckling at his own joke he continued to walk around the room so the stubborn healer could get a good look at it.

Grace tried to keep a straight face seeing him look all half grumpy about her looking at his legs. As if she hadn't seen more on other people. But for some reason she wanted to blush, he really was handsome and that was a very unprofessional opinion but she didn't care. And the fact that he was obvious uncomfortable about the fact made it worth it.
She did however look at his leg and frowned as she watched. Finally she pointed back to the table, "sit." She turned to get her wand and when he was seated again she began to use it for a more magical diagnosis until finally mumbling under her breath. "Stay here this time, and if you move one muscle I'll make you pay for it later." Of course her eyes twinkled that her form of payment was completely unprofessional. Then she walked out of the door for a moment to get a potion.

Alastor sat back on the table and watched as Grace walked out of the room. "You stubborn, beautiful, amazing witch!" Yelling at the empty room his frustration finally began to sate itself. "Alastor you crazy fool, your breaking your own rule here. Nothing good will come out of this." No matter how many times he told himself it was a bad idea, he knew deep down that whatever happened between himself and Grace it would be amazing even epic.

Grace smirked to herself the moment she was out of the room and giggled softly at his shout. She paused only a moment before heading to get the potions she needed. A few minutes later she returned with two potions already p remeasured. Unfortunately she was afraid that he might have a permanent limp but at least it would be the best she could do. If he hadn't left when he was being healed the first time he could have been fully recovered. Stubborn man.
She looked at him as she came in, checking to see if he had moved even an inch.

Alastor watched as Grace seemed to float back into the room. Watching her he knew exactly what she was looking for. Sliding over a few inches he smiled at her. "Oops, I moved...are you going to punish me now dear heart?" Smiling he noticed she held a concoction in her hands when she entered. "That my miracle cure you've got there?"

Grace arched one delicate eyebrow at him before answering his questions at once. "Well one is a cure and one is your punishment for moving. Unfortunately you'll have to take both now." She was trying very hard not to smirk at him, and instead gave her most serious doctor face. Of course she had another idea then, but only because he'd been so cute moving.

Jumping up from the table he feigned a courtly bow towards Grace. "Madam I am your servant, feel free to administer punishment and cure whenever you feel like it." Smiling he noticed that since the their talk about the death of the student, the troubles at Hogwarts and his job were the farthest thing from his mind. For some reason whenever he was around Grace she managed to keep his attention and his thoughts entirely on her.

"Do you trust me?" she said it softly and barely a whisper though infinitely gentle. She looked into his eyes and waited for him to answer. It was a simple question but she knew for a man like Moody to trust anyone was a big answer, and she was intending to test that trust if he said yes.

Staring Grace dead in the eyes, his expression carried nothing but absolute seriousness. "Sometimes dear heart, I trust you more than I trust myself." His voice was flat and as serious as his expression. He had thought about it more than a few times and even though he allowed Danielle to examine him while he's here he trusted Grace more than her and anyone else he could think of.

Grace felt completely and utterly warm with happiness at his look and his words. She knew she shouldn't feel this way, he was a patient... but... he was also Alastor Moody, the man. And he trusted her. She knew she would never betray that trust. "Then close your eyes and drink these. And no matter what.. don't open your eyes." She spoke softly and handed him the two unmarked vials of potion. She knew one would taste absolutely horrible, the other would taste almost as bad.

Alastor listened as she told him to close his eyes and take the potions, grabbing them from her hand, he leaned in close and kissed her lightly on her forehead. "Just in case i'm wrong and I dont live much longer than it takes to drink these potions." Smiling and with a little chuckle he closed his eyes and carefully quaffed one potion which tasted horrible and then the other which tasted even worse. As the liquid from both began to enter his body, he opened his eyes and stared at Grace. "So what exactly did those just do?"

She smiled as he kissed her forehead, and for a moment felt cherished. She was being foolish, she told herself. She knew she was being less than professional tonight with Alastor, at least in her eyes, but she didn't think she could avoid it when he did things like kiss her head and ... most importantly trust her.
Not only would he survive to see tomorrow, she hoped she'd be able to keep his leg from becoming a hindrance in his job. She took a deep mental breath. Calm yourself girl, or you're going to make a fool of yourself and do something foolish like kiss him back.
When he opened his eyes however she gave her best stern frown. "Did I say you could open your eyes?" She pushed him gently back to lay down on the table. "Lay down and keep your eyes closed, I'm not done with you yet."

Alastor was startled as Grace pushed him onto the bed, laying there with nothing on but his undershorts and shirt, he was wondering what it is she had planned, as far as Alastor knew mediwitchs just poked, prodded handed over a potion but then again Alastor had rarely even stuck around for the potion part so this was undiscovered territory for him. "Ok, but I have to warn you i'm new to this."
