Tanya smiled brightly at her older brother as he entered the room and gave her a hug. "I wouldn't have missed it, you know that. A shame Justin said he couldn't make it, but I believe he mentioned he would be away on business the last time I talked to him." Business meaning he was likely off on some assignment for the Dark Lord, which made her proud. She waited for Alec to respond though and she smiled at the man on her arm. It was a wicked smile, to be sure, but it was a smile.

Alec nodded politely at each introduction, with an insincere smile frozen on his face. There were so many of them, and he was already having trouble keeping track. Once the parents came out, he shook their hands vigorously and smiled a little more brightly. "You've got a beautiful home and charming family, Mrs. Scotts," he greeted Alicia, his voice as warm as he could possibly make it. "Thanks for having me."

Alicia smiled at Alec. "Thank you Mr. Mapplethorne," she said polietly. After studying him for a moment, she turned to the children. "Let's head on to the dining room, shall we?" Alicia took ahold of Thatcher's arm. "Gwen, if you don't mind, will you go ahead and tell Tibby that we're ready to begin in just a few moments." She gave a smile to her eldest daughter.
Looking to her other children, she motioned for them to go ahead. "Mr. Mapplethorne, Tanya," she said as she motioned for them to follow the children.

"Of course, Mum," Gwen said, thankful for the chance to leave. She turned down the hall to go into the kitchen, telling the house elf that they were ready to begin.
It was going to be such an impossibly long night until Justin showed. She was eagerly awaiting his surprise, simply to save her from Alec... though, she hated to admit, he seemed nice enough, at least to pretend to put up with them so far.
With a smile, she joined the rest of the family in the dining room, leaving an empty seat next to her.

As they were asked to go sit in the dining room, Tim entered the dining room and passed by Thane whispering in his ear. "Is it just me or does it seem like this guy wants to be here about as much as we want him here?" Smiling to himself at the small joke he continued into the dining room and took his seat at the table waiting for the awesome food he knew was soon to come.

Thane winked in agreement with Tim before his brother sat down. As usual he sat next to his brother Tim, the one he got along with the most out of all his siblings. though Gwen was on Tims other side. At least Thane got to sit closest to his mom, and that usually meant he got his food first.

Xavier frowned a little as they moved to the dinner table and he noticed his brothers and sister whispering to each other and exchanging glances. The truth was, although Xavier was looked upon as the "golden child" by his parents and aunt, he still felt very much like an outsider to his siblings. They were closer to each other than he'd ever been to any of them. He was the baby of the family, and as such was naturally left out of a lot of things. What they didn't realize was that a lot of his attitude and sarcasm came from the fact that he'd been left out by all of them for so long, it had fed a secret jealousy in his heart.
While his parents regarded him as the hope of the family, he didn't see himself that way at all. In fact, a lot of the things he said weren't necessarily things he believed in. He said them because he wanted to be the golden child, because he wanted the attention he got from his parents, and that was the only way he could see to get it. But his soul was still very much up for grabs.
He silently chose a seat on the other side of his aunt Tanya, where at least he would get some attention.

Tanya waited until the rest of her family was walking away before she pulled Alec into the opposite direction for a moment. He was behaving so well she felt the need to reward him and torture him just a little before they went to sit down. The moment they were hidden by the wall she pulled him close as she leaned on the wall dragging his head down to kiss her. Her hands wandered over his body as she leaned into him seductively. One of her legs sliding between his. Of course the moment his hand touched more than the wall and she heard him groan she broke the kiss and ducked under his arm and around the corner leaving him standing there.

Alec let out a groan as Tanya taunted him yet again. The woman was going to drive him mad... but, by Salazar, he'd enjoy every bloody moment of it. His breathing was still a bit heavy as he followed her to the table and slipped into a seat next to her. Smiling tightly at Alicia, he said, "Everything smells delicious. I can't wait for dinner. And dessert," he added, glancing a Tanya out of the corner of his eye.
Yes, dessert. Yes, that would certainly be worth waiting for. He had a feeling the earth would be moving tonight.

Justin apparated onto the walkway of his parent's home. His brother Timothy and sister Gwen knew he'd be coming tonight, but he hoped they'd kept it a surprise.
He had been gone since the end of summer on a mission to help aquire an artifact for the Dark Lord. Although he was considered an assasin by trade, but when your Master tells you to hunt for a trinket you do it without asking why. Then of course there had been Moody and it had all been worthwhile a chance to kill the man in that little skirmish but he'd managed to run away and escape like a cowardly dog. He had not been injured this time, but he already had a scar from that man and he owed him one. Of course he'd been called back home now earlier than expected and he wasn't exactly pleased with the reason.
But regardless, he needed a place to lay low for a while and that meant staying with his parents on a visit. Of course, he was happy to finally see his family and his sister again. He had been the prodigal son until his siblings had come along. Although he knew he shared more in common with his youngest brother than the rest of them. He even looked like an older version of Xavier, who by all accounts was the golden child of the family. Even the fact that Justin had lived up to his parent's standards hadn't matched the baby of the family in his parents eyes. But maybe that had more to do with the fact that he'd been the oldest and had always been 'expected' to things, whereas after the failure of his other three siblings to enter Slytherin, they'd doted their attention on Xavier ever since he'd graduated, not quite a child anymore in their eyes. At least, that's how Justin saw it.
Justin didn't knock on his parents door, after all he technically still lived there, even if he was gone for months at a time. He instead just walked in very quietly and very slowly appeared out of the shadows leaning against the archway into the dining room and watched his family with a smile on his lips.

Gwen was impatient as ever, wishing her brother would show already. Her eyes kept darting towards the door while Tanya's new boy toy mentioned something about how good everything looked. She hated social niceties. Although, it did all smell wonderful.
When she looked up the next time, she saw her brother in the doorway and she couldn't stop the grin that spread on her lips. She didn't say anything though, just in case he wanted to make an entrance, but she met his eyes anyway.

Justin saw Gwen smile and meet his eyes and silently shook his head with a finger on his lips as he stood watching and waited who would notice first... besides Gwen. His siblings were all there, his parents and of course his Aunt Tanya and who he suspected was her date. Alec if he remembered correctly. He'd met the man before during missions for the Dark Lord. So Tanya was dating a Death Eater. Interesting. His aunt is the one who'd healed him and how he'd ended up with the scar on his chest. She was also the one who'd recruited him to the Dark Lord.
He winked at Gwen hoping she wouldn't give him away by staring so much and tried not to chuckle.

Alicia caught Gwen looking at something. She followed her daughter's gaze. Her eyes landed on her eldest son who was standing in the door way. A smile spread across her face. "Justin," she said excitedly. Alicia got up from the table and made her way to Justin. She threw her arms around him in a hug. Once she kissed his cheek, she looked at him. He started to grow a little bit of facial hair, and he seemed a little taller. "It's great to see you! I've missed you!"

Justin grinned and hugged his mother tightly. "Hi Mom, miss me?" he said chuckling. "Oh.. and um.. surprise! I just happened to be strolling through town and though I might come visit my family and see if I could get some of your delicious food that I could smell from the front lawn.. if my room is till there?"

"Of course I've missed you," said Alicia. Her cheeks flushed slightly. She always loved compliments on the cooking. Of course she wasn't the only one that worked hard on the food, but still. "You know that your room is still open, and you know that you are more than welcome to eat!" She took his arm and led him to the table. "Mr. Mapplethorne, our eldest son Justin. Justin, Mr. Mapplethorne," she said introducing them. "Go ahead and take a seat Justin."

Gwen frowned at him, but returned her eyes to the table. She supposed she liked Justin so much because he indulged her. He was the only one in the family that let her still act like a little girl sometimes.
Luckily for her, her mother spotted him quickly, and she was allowed to smile again. She stayed quiet for a moment, though, letting everyone else notice him and say hello.

Thatcher stood when his wife went to greet their eldest, and he gave him a pat on the shoulder when Alicia was done hugging him.
"Welcome home," he said, smiling. Then, quieter, he asked, "I trust everything went well?" He didn't know what his son's mission had been exactly, just that he had had one and was supposed to be gone for longer.

Alec rose to shake hands with Justin. He recognized the eldest Scotts son from a mission they had done together a while back. He was a good and loyal death eater, and a pretty accomplished assassin. But it wasn't until this moment that he had put together the fact that Justin was related to Tanya. "Hello again, Justin. We met a while back on that... business assignment in Belgium, if you'll recall."

When his father asked him it went he frowned, Alastor had gotten away with that relic and he wasn't happy about it. "If it had gone well I wouldn't have been back so soon." was the reply he gave. He knew he was going to have to answer to the Dark Lord soon and he wasn't looking forward to that. Not that it was his fault exactly, but he'd have to answer for it anyways.
He shook hands with Alec, "Hello Alec, and yes I remember of course. I see you've met the rest of the family then?" He smirked knowingly and tried not to chuckle knowing that Alec wasn't likely the type to hang at family gatherings. "I'm sure at least Aunt Tanya will keep you entertained if they manage to bore you too much."

His son's comment made him frown deeply, and he looked over the boy as he walked to greet Alec. He didn't appear injured. In fact, he looked well.
Which likely meant he failed the mission, and he'd have to take that up with the Dark Lord. That could be just as dangerous as the meeting itself, depending on their Lord's mood.
He put a hand on his wife's elbow, guiding her back to the table to sit.
