Alice walked into the Champion Tent on the day of the first task of the Quad-Wizard Tournament. Alice had spent the whole day before with Frank making up for lost time with hugs, kisses and just being together talking. They'd gone up to his room and taken a much needed nap on his bed before spending the evening with last minute studying for today's events. She'd even fallen asleep that night curled up on top of his bed in his arm fully clothed, only to wake up this morning and realizing where she was.
She'd snuck out while he was still sleeping to go back to her dorm room before anyone else noticed her missing in the morning, other than Frank's roomates who had generally ignored them. Even Kingsley had just winked at them and gone to bed. She hadn't seen Frank today though, everything had seemed to happen so fast. That the next thing she knew Professor McGonagall had come to escort her to her office for a shared breakfast and then out to the Champion Tent that had been setup in the large field in front of Hagrid's hut.
So here she was alone in the tent, her nerves finally hitting her while she waited for the other champions to arrive. Professor McGonagall had left to attend to other preperations already. And of all things, she missed Frank.

Frank awoke to no one by his side. He looked around groggily, but didn't see Alice. He figured that she must have already gone to get ready for first task. Frank hurried out of bed and rushed to the shower. While he was in the shower, yesterday played through his mind. He and Alice were back together and things were at peace. Yesterday was a great time to make up for time lost and he hoped that they could have many more days like that.
Once he was dressed, Frank went down to the Great Hall, but didn't see Alice there either. He grabbed a piece of toast and headed out of the front of the school. Frank knew that Alice was going to be in a tent and that was were he was headed. He walked as fast as he could without looking awkward. Once he got to the tent, he finished his piece of toast and his eyes landed on Alice.
Frank broke into a grin and walked up to her quickly. With her seeing, he picked her up and swung her around. "Good morning Alice," he said into her ear just before he placed her down on her feet.

Alice felt herself swept up into strong arms and Frank's voice against her ear, his breath warm on her neck. She giggled and turned to face him in his arms. She was glad he'd come, she wasn't sure if she'd have a chance to see him before the tournament started, but was relieved he'd come. "Miss me?" she asked still giggling at him in his arms.

"You know I did," he replied. "Plus I knew that I needed to stop by and see you at least once before the task started. I wanted to see how you were doing. And it took me a moment to realize this morning where you went too." Frank smiled and kissed her forehead. "Don't be nervous about today. You'll do wonderfully, I know you will." He brought her into a hug.

Alice always felt special when he held her and kissed her face, like she was being shined upon by the sun just soaking up his warmth. "I'm nervous." she admitted, "I know I'm ready but.. I'm still nervous. The task could be anything and who knows what dangers we'll have to face. Don't mistake my courage for fearlessness. I'm scared to death." She chuckled shakily.

"Well, I suppose it's alright to be a little nervous, but don't be too nervous. I know that you'll do well Alice. I know you and I have faith in you. I promise." Frank gave her a smile. "And, I'll be waiting for you as soon as you finish. So that means, the quicker you get done, the better it will be." He winked down at her and gave a chuckle. "Just remember the spells and stuff we've gone over and ones that you've learned. You'll be fine. Trust me."

Alice nodded, "I know you do... thank you." She hugged him then, not wanting to let him go but also wanting the support. What if something bad did happen? It was one thing to hope everything went okay and to know that the judges were there to keep you safe.. but they were dangerous challenges regardless of the safety's in place. Anything could happen if she wasn't focused and prepared for whatever lay ahead. She just wished she knew what to expect. She was just glad that Frank was there to support her. "Does that mean you aren't going to worry about me when it's my turn?"

"Well, about that, see, it's one thing for me to worry about you and it's another for you to worry about yourself," began Frank. "Of course I'm worried about you. I've always been, even if I wasn't that great at showing it. I'm always going to be that way. But no matter what, I know that you'll make it out just fine because you are great at what you do. You give me the strength to go on, so I know for a fact that you are going to do wonderfully."

"I just hope I don't let you down then. I'd hate for you to be lost without me." She grinned up at him, meaning to tease him but didn't realize how it sounded that if she didn't succeed she would be gone forever. That wasn't exactly the case, but it was always a possibility and in the back of her mind. It wouldn't be the first time a student had died from the tournament, and it wouldn't be the first death at the school in the recent days at the school for that matter. It was a sobering thought and she frowned. Alice pulled him closer for the sole purpose of seeking comfort and support just from his presense alone.

"You could never let me down," said Frank honestly. His expression fell at her next comment. His heart began to race. He couldn't think anything like that, nor should she. "Alice Prewett, don't talk like that," he said with worry entwined with his voice. "Don't ever talk like that."
Once she was closer, Frank held her as tight as he could without hurting her. "You're going to be fine. I trust you, and you're to smart for that," he whispered in her ear. "And don't think like that while you are doing the task, because Alice, I'm never going to lose you." Frank pressed his lips to the top of her head.

Alice burrowed her head into his neck and shoulder before whispering, "you're right, I'm sorry.. i'm just worried. I just need to focus is all and i'm sure everything will be okay. Besides I have you waiting for me and I wouldnt' want to let you down." She was still worried, but she pushed the ominous thoughts from her mind as best she could.

Frank placed a gentle kiss on her shoulder. "Don't be worried Alice. It's alright." He tried to calm her down as well as give her the extra confidence. He rubbed her back as she clung to him. "You could never let me down, so don't even think about that. I'm proud of everything you've done, and everything that you're going to do. I've never been disappointed in you, and I there is no way I can start now even if I tried."
He didn't want her to be worried about anything. He wanted her focus on getting through the task. "I'll tell you what. You don't worry anymore, and you do you very best during the task today, and I promise I'll take you shopping. You can get whatever you would like. And then of course, we can come back and shoo away a few first years that might be sitting on the couch in the common room."

Sam had peeked inside earlier but it had been just Alice and Frank in there so far and they looked cozy enough Sam decided to take a small walk on her own before interupting the couple. When she returned it was still only Alice and Frank but Sam didn't have anywhere else to go or really anything else to do, her own stomach was done up in nerves, but something told her that Frank wouldn't be kissing her shoulder and telling her that she would do fine. He had even stopped tutoring her, well she guessed she knew the reason was sitting right next to him, but it seemed cold to her.
Sam never had an interest in Frank other than being friends and making use of his Charm skills while also...pretty much she liked the guy, hanging out was a blast, and then because of the insecurity and whining of some other girl Frank drops her like a sack of potatoes, ain't Love grand?
Oh well nothing left to do, straightening her spine and lifting her chin she entered the tent ready to face hostility if that's what met her.

She grinned and leaned up to kiss him lovingly. It was just good to have him loving her and supporting her. She knew that with him by her side, she could do anything. Even if he couldnt' be physically by her side the whole time, she knew he would be in spirit. Mid-kiss she heard someone enter the tent and pulled her head away from his lips and turned her head to realize who it was. Sam. Alice sighed. She didn't hate the girl, she just didn't particularly like her phony smile, or her being around Frank. That's all.

He grinned boyishly. "Great," he said as she kissed him. He was going to do anything he could to help her.
Frank gently tightened his arm around Alice for a quick second to let her know that it was alright. "Morning Sam," he said politely. He knew that he stopped tutoring her and didn't really give an explanation. He made a mental note to send her an owl about it, because he didn't want Alice to get mad with him, although he still only had eyes for Alice, no matter what.

Alice turned to greet Sam and at least try to be a good sport for once. Now that she and Frank were together and he'd told her that he loved her, she felt more secure and that she could be the better person. Try being the key word.
Alice stayed in Franks arms and leaned up to whisper in his ear, "I love you." And then she shifted so that she was more against his side, she wasn't ready to let go of him until she had to. "Hello Sam." she said just loud enough for the girl to hear her.

Regina sighed. She was nervous beyond belief. What if she messed up? What if she made one wrong mistake that could get her extremely hurt? All the 'what ifs' started to enter her mind. Stop she told herself. Nothing bad is going to happen.
She walked down from the Ravenclaw Tower early and went to breakfast. Once she had eaten something, Regina headed down to the tent. Once she entered, she saw Alice with Frank. She was happy that they got back together. She just waved at Alice and smiled at Sam. Regina walked over to an empty chair and took a seat so that she was off on her own.

Alice saw Regina enter and said Hi to the girl as well. She seemed so young and fragile, although she liked the girl, she really did seem an unlikely choice for a tournament champion, even from Ravenclaw. Alice was slightly worried the girl would get herself hurt more than anything. But the girl was nice and to alice that made her worth befriending. She just kind of felt sorry for her, she just didn't look like she fit in sometimes.

Maxi walked into the tent and found that she was the last one of the champions there. She looked between the girls and wondered, how in the world had the Goblet of Fire picked HER! She looked at Alice, who was sitting with Frank. Alice was bold and brave and wanted to be an auror when she finished school. She was also a seventh year, and had a two year advantage on the other three champions. Alice Prewett had a chance to win. Maxi then turned to Regina. Regina and Maxi had never really talked, but she knew of her at least. Regina was smart, and resourceful and kind. She was a bloody Ravenclaw for christ's sake. She could figure anything out in an instant! Regina Curry had a chance to win. Lastly, Maxi looked at Sam. Beautiful, strong, powerful Samantha Montgomery that Maxi hated so much. But why? Because she was jealous of Sam and Seth's friendship? Because she's beautiful and every teenaged boy at Hogwarts loved her? Or was it because Maxi had seen first hand how strong Sam's magic truely was? Samantha Montgomery had a chance to win.
Plain, boring, Hufflepuff Maxi Borale, with nothing special to put her ahead of the reat, had no chance to win.

Sam turned to face both Alice and Frank and she nodded their way, when Frank greeted her she wanted to yell at him and ask him if *now* it was okay that he talked to her, and if in fact she was worth a bit of his time, but she reigned that in, and then there was Alice. Alice who caused her to lose one of the first friends she had made at Hogwarts. She wasn't really too happy with either of them, what Frank had done hurt her, but she supposed because she wasn't Alice, he didn't care, not that it was surprising.
"Good morning." she replied and nodded to them both, but she couldn't bring herself to even act as if she wasn't slightly angry. Sam didn't have a high pedestal to sit on, and she didn't behave as if she thought she were better than anybody else, she simply measured her actions so not to appear foolish, but she never once judged Alice for who Alice was or wasn't. She never snubbed the girl or stuck her chin up, she never looked down her nose, she didn't even have any interaction with the girl until the ceremony when *Alice* had been the one giving her dirty looks, but Sam refused to play that game and had smiled in return. No the central part of Alice's dislike was Frank, and if Frank was the kind of guy who ditched others without explanation or otherwise then Alice was welcome to him. Sam really never understood why they all couldn't have been acquaintances. Why she couldn't remain Frank's and Alice's friend while they went off and got married and had however many kids they wanted. Then she remembered it was her face, her body perhaps, her money? Who the hell knew why guys flocked after her, she only wished perhaps she could get an ugly scar somehow and live the rest of her life happily normal...well perhaps nothing that drastic.
As the others entered the tent she sent a firm nod to them both but her mind was on the tournament ahead.
