Potions, Class 1

[Lily Evans]

Lily came back to her seat, glaring at James and Sirius. "You two did this, didn't you?" she whispered angrily. "I guess you're just as immature as ever, aren't you?" Her eyes blazing, she scribbled out the "yes" she had written on the parchment and replaced it with "NO!" Then she flung the note at him and looked away from them both in disgust.

[James Potter]

James' laughter disappeared and he frowned. "Come on Lily, we were only having fun," replied James. He groaned as she flung the paper back to him. If only Slughorn would have waited. "Be that way then," he whispered angrily. James decided that he would ignore Lily the best he could.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius shook his head at him. "Tough luck, man," he whispered to James.

[James Potter]

James looked at Sirius and gave a shrug. "Well, it'll be alright," whispered James. "It isn't the first time." He gave his friend a grin although, he was still sort of angry. "There's always Robin. Maybe things will go smoother," he whispered lowly so that no one else would hear but Sirius.

[Sirius Black]

"That's the spirit," Sirius whispered back. "Why don't you ask her now? She's right over there. And if Lily sees you're that willing to move on just like that, it might make her jealous."

[James Potter]

James gave Sirius his infamous grin and nodded. He slipped from his desk and headed towards Robin, sliding into a desk beside her. "Hello Robin," greeted James. "How have you been since the last time we spoke?"

[Robin Slater]

Robin looked up and smiled shyly. "Um, I'm not sure we've ever spoken," she replied. "But I'm fine. You're James, right?"

[James Potter]

"We have a few times, but its been a slight hey or something," said James. "But anyway. Yes, I'm James. I have a question for you. Would you like to accompany me to Hogsmeade this weekend?"

[Robin Slater]

Robin tilted her head at him and blushed slightly. He was kind of cute, but she had no idea why he was asking her. Everyone knew he liked Lily Evans. Or maybe he just liked redheads. The thought made her blush even more. "Um, OK, James," she said, smiling. "I'd love to go to Hogsmeade with you."

[James Potter]

"Great," said James with a smile. "I'll meet you in the entrance hall at say ten o'clock Saturday morning?" Maybe his luck was changing, after all, Robin was pretty cute. "You know, why don't you come up here with me and Sirius? I promise neither of us bite."

[Robin Slater]

Robin smiled. "Um, OK," she said. She wasn't quite used to the attention and she was flattered, but embarassed. She also wasn't entirely sure Sirius Black wasn't going to bite. But she gathered up her books and followed James back to where he was sitting and she settled into a desk next to Sirius and across from James. "Hi," she said to Sirius, Remus, and Lily.

[Lily Evans]

Lily rolled her eyes at James's obvious attempt to make her jealous by asking another girl out. It would have almost been sweet if it wasn't so pathetic. But she gave Robin a friendly smile, anyway. Robin was a sweet girl; she just hoped James didn't hurt her or anything.

[James Potter]

"Robin, this is Sirius, Remus, and Lily, and guys, this is Robin," he said pointing to each of them. "I'm sure you probably already know who they are, but I figured I should introduce you anyway." James smiled at Robin. "You shouldn't be shy around any of us. None of us bite. I can promise you that."

[Sirius Black]

Sirius laughed. "Actually, I bite sometimes, but I promise I'll be on my best behavior, OK?" He raised his hand as if making a solemn vow. "It's nice to meet you, Robin."

[Robin Slater]

Robin smiled at each of them. "Hi, it's nice to meet you all," she said. "Um, since I'm here, I can maybe help you guys with the potion today... I'm pretty good in potions."

[Remus Lupin]

Remus watched all of this quietly, not commenting on what was going on. When Robin came to sit with them, he smiled at her. "Hi," he greeted her. He raised his eyebrows at James, hoping he wasn't just paying attention to this girl as a way to get to Lily.

[James Potter]

"Good," replied James. "Last time when me and Sirius worked together, our potion basically exploded. I think Mr. Black added just a bit to much of ingredients. Although it's always fun, wither we mess up or not," he said with a grin in Sirius' direction.

[Robin Slater]

Robin giggled. "Well, I think I can help you guys not make anything blow up, anyway," she said. "I used to be bad at it, but I did some practice last year, and I think I got the hang of it. It's just hard, because you have to put just the right amount of each ingredient in there. If you don't put enough, the potion won't work, but put too much, things could blow up..." She laughed slightly. "But it is fun sometimes when you mess up."

[James Potter]

"It tis," agreed James. "However, we try our best not to kill anyone, right Sirius," he said with a grin. "I think as long as you don't lose a limb, or anything like that, just about anything is fun. Other than mixing potions because we have to, it's fun to mix some for well, um, experiments."

[Sirius Black]

Sirius laughed. "Yeah, remember that time we discovered that potion that made you break out in hair all over your body? I thought Madam Pomfrey was going to be sick when she saw you. She said you looked like Bigfoot." He laughed heavily. "Hey, maybe we can do Snivelly a favor and accidentally discover something to make his hair not be greasy. Oh, wait, there's already something like that. It's called shampoo. Might want to look into that, Snivellus."
