Potions, Class 1

[James Potter]

James shifted uncomfortably in his seat, because he noticed that all eyes were on him and Lily, even Slughorn's. He swallowed and gave a small quick nod to Lily. He knew that if they were alone, she would have walked away from him in the beginning. For some reason, James felt like Lily was just saying that. Not caring that his potion was wrong, he gathered a sample then started to clean up his cauldron and other ingredients. Setting the potion on Slughorn's desk, he mumbled to him that he wasn't feeling very well.

James walked back over to his desk, still feeling eyes on him but not bothering to meet anyone's but Lily's for a second. He felt as if his cheeks were on fire as he grabbed his books and headed for the door.

[Albus Dumbledore]

Professor Slughorn, having silently witnessed the spat between the two students, now cleared his throat. "Um, yes... You should all be just about finished your potions by now, so when you're finished, everyone, please pour your potions into your sample flasks and make sure they are labeled with your names before you bring them up to my desk. Once you have done all that, you are dismissed. Don't forget to read Chapter 8 for next class."

[Lily Evans]

Lily stared at the door after James left, feeling really confused. She just didn't understand him. He acted like a jerk most of the time, so why did he have the ability to make her feel guilty for calling him on it? Was she wrong about him? Or was he just manipulating her?

Finally she turned away and smiled apologetically at Emmeline. "I'm really sorry you had to get caught up in that," she said. "It was nice meeting you. Maybe we could talk again sometime."

She doled her potion into the vial and then stuck a label on it, quickly writing her name with her quill. "Bye, now," she said, gathering up her things and taking her potion up to Professor Slughorn's desk.

[Emmeline Vance]

Emmeline watched the exchange calmly. It was kinda cute. She could tell they were totally into each other. She gave a small smile and bottled her potion. They were still arguing when she wrote her name on the bottle. She smiled at Sirius. "Does this happen a lot?"

When she dropped of her potion at the Professor's desk and walked back to her seat, they were done arguing and James was no where to be found. She smiled and waved good-bye to Lily.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius grinned at her. "Oh, yeah, all the time," he replied. "Almost daily, in fact." He filled his vial with his potion and and stuck the label with his name on it. "I'd better go see if I can catch up with James. Something tells me he's going to need a friend to complain to. It was nice talking to you... I hope we can do it again sometime. And thanks for the help with my potion!"

He gathered up his things, then glanced at Remus and Kris. "I'll see you guys later," he said before he hurried up to Slughorn's desk to hand in his potion, then left the room.

[Severus Snape]

Severus rolled his eyes. All of these people were a waste of effort, if they had bothered to make the potion correct in the first place, they wouldn't of bothered with earthworm hearts. 'C'mon Natalie, where's your next lesson?" he asked wanting most to get away from Black and his 'charm'.

[Emmeline Vance]

She smiled and waved good-bye to Sirius. She was left alone with Kris, Remus, and a sour looking Snape/ She scold silently at Severus and nodded good-bye to Remus and Kris.

"Bye Professor." She smiled brightly and waved good-bye.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie stood, virtually hidden next to Severus, and watched all of the events that had unfolded in class. She couldn't really understand why the other students would want to behave this way. Not caring about their school work, just throwing a potion together, making a scene in class--it all seemed very childish to her.

She finished spooning her potion into the small vial and put the stopper in it. "OK, let's go," she said quietly to Severus.

[Severus Snape]

without thinking, Severus grabbed Natalie's hand and the rest of their things and walked her to the front of the class, like a dark clad bride and groom. He figured she would just hand in her potion and they would leave.

[Natalie St. Clare]

As Severus took her hand, Natalie saw a quick flash of his future. He was walking through a narrow, dark tunnel towards something. She could hear growling, like an angry creature was at the other end. And it was coming closer. He realized it, and turned suddenly to run away. But the creature was getting closer. Severus tripped, and it looked like the creature was going to get him, when someone grabbed him from behind and dragged him up a small staircase, closing a door behind them. Severus and the other person now stood under the big tree on the grounds, the one that always attacked people. Only know it wasn't moving. Now that he was outside, Severus turned to the person who had rescued him and was surprised to see James Potter....

Natalie gave a start as the vision ended. She didn't know what to say to him, so she looked up at Severus and blushed slightly. "Thanks again for your help," she said. She hoped that if she pretended as if nothing had happened that he wouldn't ask what she had seen.

[Severus Snape]

Severus smiled at her as she thanked him and caught the blush, he let go of her hand. It had confused him, seeing the blush. why would she be blushing? He slid a face of no expression on and nodded as he went to the door to wait for her outside the classroom.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie didn't understand why Severus let go of her hand. Had she done something wrong? Did he know that she's had a vision that she wasn't telling him? She frowned after him for a minute, then walked up to the professor's desk to hand in her potion. Once this was done, she walked up to the door, where he was waiting for her. "What class do you have next?" she asked shyly.

[Severus Snape]

"Oh I think...Trasfiguration. I hate that class" he muttered as he shouldered his bag. he still felt confused, but did what he always did when felt strongly about something, he hid it to look upon it later.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie frowned. Transfiguration was her uncle's class. But he wasn't teaching it this year. Instead, he was missing. He was somewhere out there, afraid to come home in case he might endanger his family. She only wished that her stupid useless powers could show her where he was...

"I think I'm in the same class," Natalie said, deciding not to comment on her uncle. "We can walk together, if you want..."

[Kris Lupin]

Kris had messed up on her potion, she knew it as she could hear Sirius flirting once again with another girl. She was beginning to wonder if it was worth trying to stay with him. She took her vial to the professors desk and ran from the room, her heart was breaking and her anger rising. She could tell he was trying to hold back but she had still heard him flirting, she wondered if he actually loved her or even liked her.
