Amadora's surprise was evident on her face. "Tonight?" He had never once mentioned having another child since before she'd become pregnant with Clarissa. She loved children, it was no lie, but it caught her off guard. "I thought you didn't want any more children...?" she was afraid to hope that he was serious. She had given up the idea of him wanting more, whereas she on the other hand would have loved more but she had never complained. After all they'd been blessed with two beautiful daughters.

He chuckled at her first question. "Not tonight, no. But in general. I know we've agreed two was enough, but Clarissa and Adelaide have grown so quickly. I'm not ready to have an empty house just yet." He nuzzled against her dark hair. "And besides, Clarissa could use a little brother to play with." Carlisle stroked her cheek with his palm and ran his thumb across her bottom lip. "Plus, its fun to try for a baby. Is it not?"

Amadora smiled lovingly at her husband, happy to hear he really did want to try for another baby. "Third time's a charm," she said softly. "And trying is always fun, my love." She curled her body into his more and just enjoyed his soft and gentle attention that she suspected was half unconscious on his part, not that she was complaining. One of the things she loved about Carlisle was how affectionate he'd always been with her in private. She tilted her head just enough to kiss him. "I would love to, dearest."

She was like an angel laying in his arms. She had always looked so beautiful, both times she was pregnant. As he drifted off to sleep he pictured what she would look like a third time, belly swelled and face glowing. He couldn't wait to take care of her. But she did like to do things for herself. If he had had his way tonight, he would have put Clarissa to bed, cleaned up the broken glass, and taken care of the rat while she sat leisurely on the couch.
