Carlisle held Amadora's hand as the entered their private quarters. He loved being able to touch her and rarely got to outside of the staff rooms. How could he dock house points for snogging in the halls if he was doing the same thing? Granted, it would be with his wife, and they would rarely be snogging, but it just didn't seem proper. But here in private he could be as romantic as he desired. Once the door was shut behind them he pulled her in close to him and gently kissed her ruby lips.
The room was quiet except the noises they made by being there. Footsteps, a door opening and shutting, soft breathing. It would seem that their youngest Clarissa was asleep. Or perhaps reading in the other room.

As Carlisle pulled her close and touched his lips to hers sweetly, Dora raised her hands to wrap them gracefully around her husbands neck with her fingers trailing little feathery touches on his skin and kissed him back lovingly. She truly adored her husband and even now his warm gentle kiss made her toes curl with desire.
They were affectionate in public but never to the point of kissing unless it was in private. Carlisle was if nothing else, very conscious of his students and she had never questioned it. After all it would never do for the school librarian to be off kissing her husband around the school when she spent a good deal of her own time taking points from students trying to use the library's book shelves as a snogging booth. She also knew that neither of them wanted to cause any issues for their daughters, one of which was a first year this year. No need to have her parents embarrassing her needlessly by acting like teenagers in front of everyone.
As Carlisle leaned back from the kiss a moment to look lovingly into her eyes she made a sound much like a purr as she slid her hands down his chest admiring the feel of his muscles which were as usual well hidden by his choice of shirts and pulled his tie to drag him back for another kiss.

His lips curled into a grin just before they met with hers again. His hands went immediately to her face, his thumb caressing the apple of her cheek. He cherished these moments with her and made them last as long as possible. He could stay wrapped around her like this for all eternity. And yet he pulled away from her lips, not far, but enough so that he could speak. "I love you Dora."

She smiled and her love for him was evident in her eyes, "I love you too, my heart." She didn't feel obligated to say it, instead she wanted to say it, she always did... he just managed to beat her to it tonight. Dora took one of his hands and held it to her heart before pulling it up to her lips and kissing his fingertips softly one by one.
She remembered the note she'd sent him earlier in the day, she always loved leaving him little surprises to make him smile and show her love for him. Just little reminders that she was always thinking about him even when she knew he was busy with his work. Of course she was too most of the time but that didn't mean she couldn't still express her feelings and make him smile just like he did to her whenever he looked at her like this.

Carlisle allowed her to move him as she would and when she was done he kissed the top of her head. "Shall we check on Clarissa to make sure she hasn't gotten into your make up again?" As Clarissa was getting older Carlisle noticed she liked to pretend more and more that she were a grown up like her mother. He hoped she didn't grow up too fast though. But he had hoped for the same thing with Adelaide and she was already eleven now. Time seemed to fly by when it came to his children. And yet, looking at Amadora, she seemed to not have aged a day since he first met her.

"Of course, dearheart. Besides the last time we came home she had managed to climb onto a stack of books and knocked over one of the portraits trying to see if she could climb into it to play with the portrait's kids. She really needs some friends, she must be missing the ones she had to leave behind when we moved in here."
Amadora looked slightly worried over this fact as she lead the way into Clarissa's room that she had shared with Adelaide until this year when their eldest daughter had been allowed to join the Ravenclaw dorms with the other First years. She still held her husband's hand as they cracked open Clarissa's door to peek inside.

Clarissa was still awake and reading "Tales of Beedle the Bard" for the thousandth time. It was her favorite book and she always liked to read when she was alone, at least when she knew her parents would be coming back soon. When they were gone she usually tried to find something equally as fun to do like play in mama's dresses or make her dolls dance. She didn't have a wand yet but she could do some things in an uncontrolled manner. Making her dolls spin was one of them, unfortuantly sometimes they spun a bit too fast and ended up as projectiles but it was never intentional.
Alice grinned up as she saw her parents peeking into her door before opening it. She knew they were just checking to see if she was sleeping but she'd not been able to sleep yet, although she was already in her pajamas and mama had already given her a bath before going off to the staff dinner and sending one of the house elves to get Clarrissa some dinner too.
"Hi papa and mama, I missed you!!" She set down her book and ran to her father first. She was a daddy's girl and missed when he was gone all day.

He missed the worried look in his wife's face, too preoccupied with slowly easing the door open, in case Clarissa was asleep. But of course she wasn't. She was reading her favorite children's book; the thing was very close to falling apart. Carlisle himself had charmed it back together after multiple binding breaks, but the thing was close to useless now. He would need to get her another copy. Perhaps he could get a little money for this one at the second wand hand in Diagon Alley. Carlisle hated wasting money, but he loved spoiling his girls. It was a hard line to walk.
Clarissa ran to him, knocking herself into his waist with the weight of her hug. It very nearly knocked the wind out of him. She was getting so big. "Hello poppet. Have you been behaving yourself?" He knelt down to her level so she wouldn't have to stretch her neck to look at him.

"yes Papa, I was playing with the Grey Lady earlier... she's very nice you know if you ever get her to talk. Oh and I played dancing with my dolls and.. um.. and I waited up for you!!" Clarissa gave her father her biggest smile, hoping he didn't mind that she'd stayed up past her bed time. But she missed him today and didn't want to sleep until she got to see him today. She left out the part about accidentally breaking one of father's books. She hadn't meant to of course but she'd been using it as a stool and when she slipped it got damaged a bit. She'd hid it under her mattress.

She seemed to have had a busy day for an eight year old, and that was only since her mother had left for dinner. He gently scooped her up into his arms and carried her back into her room. "How about we get back into bed and I read you a story?" He made his way through the warzone of toys and sat onto her bed. "Ow!" He moved to see what he had sat on, it was a toy wand. Carlisle scooted over so that he was no longer being jabbed in the rear, and loosedned his grip so that Clarissa could climb out of his arms.

Clarissa climbed dutifully out of her father's comforting arms and into bed. She adored her father completely and usually obeyed him especially when he was giving her attention and she reached out for another hug. After laughingly gave in to her hugs she finally snuggled into bed with her teddy bear and listened contentedly to him as he read her a story from her favorite book. She HAD had a full day for her age and it became pretty apparent that she had indeed been exhausted as she drifted off to sleep only a few minutes later of listening lovingly to her father's soothing voice.

Amadora stood watching at the doorway as her husband tucked their youngest daughter into bed until he began to read to her. She wasn't sure how long it would take, some nights would take a few chapters and others a few sentences. So Amadora stepped away from the door leaving it slightly ajar and moved to the bedchambers to change into her night clothes. She had managed to change quickly and went to sit in front of the fireplace of the sitting area while she waited for Clarissa to sleep. She knew how much the young girl adored her father and didn't begrudge them their time together smiling to herself over how wonderful her husband was with their children.

Carlisle quietly shut the book and set it on the empty bookshelf. He looked on the floor, noting the rest of Clarissa's collection scattered about her room. He would have her pick up tomorrow. Carlisle and Amadora both agreed that the house elves would leave the girls' room alone, so that the girls could learn responsibility in cleaning up after themselves. He had not grown up with any house elf and thought the whole thing was a bit absurd. The idea of having someone else do your work...though he was still very appreciative of what they did for the castle. Carlisle pulled the quilt up over Clarissa's body and kissed her forehead before tiptoeing out of the room, gingerly shutting the door behind him.
Amadora was already in her night clothes, and looked relaxed as she lounged on the sofa. "My beautiful wife," he cooed in her ear as he sat beside her. He slung one arm over her shoulder and caressed her arm slowly with his finger tips.

Amadora felt like purring when he came to sit next to her. "She's asleep already?" That was fast, she must have been exhausted. She waited for his nod as he tickled her ear doing so and then brought her hand up to his jaw.
She normally sat with him in the evenings sharing their day and cuddling before retiring to their room for more intimate time together. But she had gotten to talk to him over dinner at the ceremony tonight and just wanted to be with him. "What are you thinking, dearheart?" She leaned into his chest with her feet curled up under her now and his arm caressing her shoulder, she was very happy at this moment, content just having him near.

"Honestly?" He looked over at her, her beautiful face. "I'm thinking about the Competition. I only agreed to be a judge so that I could help ensure the students' safety." He paused for a moment, then continued. "I trust Dumbledore. But this whole tournament is so dangerous..." He was glad there was an age restriction and Adelaide could not have tried to get in. He would have gone mad if that had happened.

Amadora sat comfortable where she was as she listened to her husband. She was a good listener, she had always been more of a listener than a talker. "I'm glad you accepted the offer though, I know that if anyone can keep them safe it will be you. I know it's dangerous, but I think Albus knows what he's doing. Besides, he's trying to prepare them for the real world out there. And we both know just what they are up against, which is much worse than being in a supervised tournament. It's dangerous, but with all the precautions being taken I'm sure everything will be fine. I believe in you and in Albus. But I am glad that our girls are too young to compete."
She gave him a look of total trust that he would be able to keep them safe, as if she had no doubts that he would do everything he could to make it so. She leaned over and tenderly kissed his chin.

Her words lightened his thoughts; she spoke the truth. And her confidence in him made him soar. Carlisle ran his hands through her hair, kissing the top of her head as he did so. She had lovely hair, it always smelled so nice. "Speaking of our girls, have you spoken to Adelaide today? I barely saw her at dinner. The students seemed very excited about the announcement, it was hard to find our little girl in all of that."

She leaned into him unconsiously when he kissed her head. She was used to his kisses and loving attentive nature, but she was never bored of them and instead looked forward to the end of each day when she could see him again and spend time with him like this. Just being together, curled up and happy, usually sharing some conversation that stimulated their minds in one way or another. She felt a wave of happiness at he played in her long hair which was usually up in a bun while she was in the library but she always let it down in the evenings before dinner.
"No, I saw her in the library this morning before classes but I didn't have a chance to see her otherwise. I hope she's adjusting well this year, I should really try to make a point to go see her and see how she's doing. I just hate to bug her too much, it's not like most kids where they only see their parents durring school breaks and I didn't want to be too bothersome for her." She chuckled lightly. "I think if anything though that Clarissa and Adelaide miss being together as much now. Adelaide has been making friends and Clarissa kind of got left behind I think. But I'm sure they'll be okay, I just worry sometimes."
She loved her children dearly and although her husband loved to spoil them where he could, Amadora had usually been the more firm hand when it was needed which luckily was not often. But she also respected her children as individuals, and tried to give Adelaide the space she would need to grow into an adult one day. But that didn't mean she didn't enjoy being close by and able to check up on her when she needed to. There was one advantage to being a former Ravenclaw and the school's librarian, she was one of the few staff members allowed to enter the Ravenclaw common rooms to keep the miniture library in there in order for the children. She regularly changed the book selection and it gave her another opportunity to sneak in a hello to their daughter if she happend to be in there, which was not always the case. And that her husband was the Head of House allowed him to check on all the Ravenclaw students as well.

"Yes, I've noticed Clarissa playing with the ghosts more now that Adelaide isn't with her. It's unfortunate the other professors don't have underage children as well. Perhaps we should find a playgroup for her in Hogsmeade." Clarissa still had a few years before she would be a student at Hogwarts, and if the newer staff didn't have children Clarissa was bound to get lonely. There was no price he wouldn't pay for his little girl to have friends.
Carlisle scooped Amadora up and shifted her to sit on his lap, wrapping his arms around her dainty waist. "You don't need to worry my darling," he whispered into her ear. "You've done a wonderful job raising them. I have no doubt our girls will be strong, smart young ladies."

Amadora shifted herself so she fit perfectly into his lap and wrapped her arm around his neck and let the other rest on his chest. He was still wearing his tie from the day and she took the time to casually loosen it and undo the knot until both ends hung down. She undid the first couple of buttons so he looked a bit more relaxed and snuggled her hand against the top of his chest.
"And so have you Mr Macrae" she said teasing him by calling him by his last name. He shared just as much responsibility for their raising even though the kids were mostly with her during the day, he normally spent quite a bit of his free time from work with his daughters."I know they will be as smart and loving as their father. Let's just hope they stay as well behaved too. I'm tired of having to deduct house points for snogging in the library." She sighed but she didn't think their daughters would ever do anything like that.
She leaned her head onto his shoulder and kissed his neck near his ear gently. "I love you darling. And I'm sure you're right, I probably worry too much."
