"Very good, Genevieve," Daniel said. "That's exactly what I wanted to point out." Daniel walked to his desk. "Five points to Hufflepuff. Why do you think the witch in that story is considered Wicked, and Ugly, and Green?" Daniel asked. It was an open question, no right or wrong.
He just wanted to know the students' way of thinking.

Kat walked into class during the professor's discussion and quietly took a seat in the back. She gripped a note explaining her tardyness. She caught the Professor's eye and held up the note. He would talk to her later and she waited for someone to answer the question that was asked prior to her arrival.

Roman knew that the blond girl in front of her was heading here. SLowly, she pushed open the door and slid her hand threw her hair to push it off her face. She took a seat nest to the blond girl and rested her head on her hand. There was no point in pretending she wasn't late.

Seth raised his hand, waiting for the teacher to call on him. He looked at Maxi and winked. "Yes, be shocked. I actually CAN read a book that isn't for school." Seth had read The Wizard of Oz when he was younger, it was found in a trash bin in the library at his house and he had been intrigued by the green woman on the cover.

Daniel laughed quietly to himself when he heard Seth's whispered comment to Maxi. "Yes, Seth, why do you think?" Daniel asked. He looked to the back and saw two girls enter the class late. He caught one girl's eye and she held up a piece of paper; most likely a note explaining her absence.
Still listening to Seth, Daniel walked to the back of the classroom and crouched down between the girls' desks. "Ladies?" he said quietly as to not be heard by the rest of the class. "I believe you're late."

"Professor, I have a note," Kat said, handing her letter from Madame Pomfroy, explaining that Kat had fallen and was being healed when class started. She began to listen to Seth's explaination and then turned back to the teacher. "Are we talking about the Wizard of Oz, professor?" She asked. It was most likely Kat's favorite muggle written book.

"Muggles have never actually MET a witch," Seth said when he was called on. "Nor have they met a wizard, or so they think. So they're stuck with the idea that witches are evil and meniceful, because that's the stories their told."

Roman blew out air steadily. She didn't care about books much, unless they were balanced on her head for posture excersizes in ballet. She didn't listen to the guy or respond when the teacher asked her about being late. This class would be easy for her. She had a little brother who was a squib, and there was nothing he couldn't tell her, right?

Daniel took the note from the Hufflepuff girl and read it over. It seemed acceptable enough. "Thank you Katarina," Daniel said, getting the girl's name from the note. "And I'd be moore careful next time," He said, refering to her fall that was mentioned in the note. He turned to the Gryffindor girl next to him. She hadn't given a name or an explaination. "Don't let it happen again girls, or I'll dock points," He then stood up and moved to the front of the class again.
"Seth, that was an excelent analysis," Daniel said. "5 points to Slytherin. Now," He looked to the class again. "Do you think that the negitive views are only one way? Is it only Muggles that think poorly if magical folk?" He didn't address the question yet, hoping that someone would volunteer. He checked his class roster and made a mental note that the Gryffindor girl in the back was named Roman Jetter. He'd be keeping an eye on her.

Maxi smiled and winked at Seth. "Good job," she whispered. "I didn't know you knew that story." Maxi's father was a muggle actor, and she had seen him in the play of the Wizard of Oz a million times in her lifetime. "And I am shocked, I didn't know you could read!" She giggled silently.

Lani sighed, finally raising her hand. She liked the teacher enough, which made it easier for her to want to get involved. Besides, this was quite possibly the easiest question he could have asked.

"Yes, Leilani," Daniel said, pointing to the blonde in the back of the class. "What do you think?" He was mildly surprised by the Slytherin support he had in the class. As stereotypes would have it, Slytherins weren't exactly the most muggle accepting of the houses.

She lowered her hand and opened her mouth. "The dislike runs both ways, doesn't it?" It was a rhetorical questions. "We have phrases like Mudblood. And what dictates class but our blood status? It's only pure if there are no muggles in the family tree."

"Thank you Leilani," Daniel said. "5 Points. Leilani brought up an interesting point. Our classes in the magical world are separated soley by whether or not there our muggles in out family tree. Over time, we have considered it that if you're of Pure blood, you have a higher status than if you were a mugleborn witch or wizard." He looked around the classroom, most of his students were actually paying attention. He smiled. "Any thoughts on that?"

Roman rolled her eyes. What did a squib do to your line? She decided it was better not to ask. If anyone had something bad to say, then there was definately a problem bewtween that person and herself. She didn't want to make any enemies at this particular moment in time. SHe didn't even have any friends.
She wasn't sure if that bothered her or not.

This was one of Sophia's favorite classes. She did a lot of studying about the Muggle world but not as an outside participant but she lived muggle usually when she went home because of her father. He taught her to appreciate the classics and other great things about their world and it really was a great gorld.
So when the professor got to talking about bloodlines Sophia was a little withdrawn and it was surprising, but the fact was that her mother was a pureblood traitor as they were called, she had married a muggle of all people not even a mudblood, but a full muggle.

"It shouldn't matter, should it?" Kat asked, not bothering to raise he hand for the class had been silent when Professor Tortuga answered. "Anyone who's muggle born or even half blood can be just as good a witch or wizard than a pureblood," Kat thought aloud. "Some people think that if a pureblood marries a muggle they're traitors, but they arent." She nodded, mainly to herself. "Love is love and magic is magic, no matter who or what posseses it."

Sophia swallowed but kept quiet. Kat had a point but the truth was not everyone felt that way. People thought it was hard being a mudblood or not having any roots involved in magic, but the persecution you received for being the offspring of a pureblood traitor was more difficult.

Roman heard the Ravenclaw (or, rather, Roman was just assuming the girl was in Ravenclaw, due to her blue scarf), swallow slightly. Roman averted her gaze from the window to the girl's face and studied her reaction to what was being said.
Roman wondered if this was a touchy subject to everyone, and not just herself. She didn't consider herself unlucky to have an 'imperfection' in her family. She liked imperfections. And Roman knew there could be a lot worse then no magic.

"Thank you Katarina, 5 points," He looked around the classroom, glad that at least a few of the students in here were participating. Daniel flicked his wand and a dozen or so copys of "The Wizard of OZ" floated up and flew around the class, landing on each of the students desks. "Partner up," Daniel said. He waited for the class to get into partners before continuing.
