Severus almost stood up when he heard Justine call his name. "Yes!" he said louder than he meant to.
He cleared his throat and said " Yeah, I'd be great for you to sit with us! " .
Awkward couldn't even begin to describe his emotional state. He sat between a girl he couldn't even contemplate his feeling for her while next to her, and another who was a friend yet always battling with the emotion he hoped he wasn't feeling.

Natalie Speller walked into the Potions classroom, She had not yet been sorted but she though it would be okay to watch. She saw that everyone was talking except a Hufflepuff girl she recognised as Maxi Borale. Natalie walked over to her "Hi. I'm Natalie You're Maxi Borale right?" Natalie kept turning her head to look at some people talking as they kept saying 'Natalie.' Natalie then worked out that there was another Natalie in the class. Potions class was not one of Gilderoy's favorite classes. He much preferred Charms, with its nice "swish and flick" movements, or Defense Against the Dark Arts. Potions was a dirty class, with lots of nasty bug parts and eyeballs and such. Still, he knew it was important, so he continued to take it. He broke into one of his famous smiles as he entered the room. Unfortunately, no one was paying attention to see it. How disappointing! Looking around a moment, he chose a seat near another Hufflepuff girl. He stopped before he reached her, trying for a moment to remember her name. Ah, yes! Maxi. "Hello, Maxi," he greeted her, smiling broadly. "And I don;t think I know your name?" he asked the Gryffindor girl next to her. "Hi Natalie," Maxi said brightly. "Nice too meet you," she said. "Are you new here at Hogwarts?" Just then, Gilderoy Lockhart walked over and greeted the two. "Hello Gilderoy, how are you?" Maxi asked with a bright smile. Her deep blue eyes looked over to Natalie and then back to Gilderoy. "This is my friend Natalie. Natalie, this is Gilderoy." She looked ahead of her and noticed that her friend Gage was again doodling in the margins of his text book, and decided not to bother him until after class. She so wished that he'd be more social, but it would probably just come in time. So she turned back to Gilderoy and Natalie. |

"Hi Gilderoy. And Yes I am new, I just got sorted into Gryffindor... Things happen quickly around here! A moment ago I wasn't even sorted!" Natalie thought about what she had just said, now she felt kind of dumb that she had said that.

"Don't worry about it, it may start out fast, but the classes take FOREVER!" Maxi said loud enough that maybe the teacher heard, but probably didn't. She shrugged and turned back to Natalie. "You can take a seat ya know. You too Gilderoy."

Leo headed to Potions class with extra enthusiasm. He knew he would see Rori in this class, and he was looking forward to it. These days it seemed like all that mattered was seeing Rori. And when he wasn't with her, he felt a little empty. Walking into the room, he immediately scanned the class for Rori. It didn't take long to find her, and he smiled at the sight of her. "Hey, Rori," he greeted her, slipping into the seat next to her. Rori glanced up and a smile automatically was set on her face. "Hey Leo," she said happily. Now she wasn't going to be alone. It seemed like he was what she looked forward to seeing every day. It was strange, but yet, it was nice. The more she thought about it, the more she wanted to talk to Isa about it. "How are you?" |

Robin was not in one of her typically good moods as she headed to Potions class. Ever since her day in Hogsmeade with James, she had been thinking about him a lot, and it worried her. Everyone knew (but didn't say) that James had a thing for Lily Evans, although she didn't really like him. But now Robin was afraid she was developing a little crush on James. She wanted to be just friends with him... but there was just something about that cocky grin that wouldn't leave her mind. As she entered the room, she looked around and spotted James, sitting with his friends. Lily was on the other side of the room. She sighed. Should she go and sit near James, knowing that a part of him wished he was sitting with Lily instead? She couldn't quite resist. After all, everyone had seen the fight between them in the last class. So she headed over to the area where James and his friends were sitting. "Hi, James!" she said, sounding just as perky as ever. James looked up from what he was doing. He smiled at the sight of Robin. "Hey Robin! Take a seat right here," he said pointing to the seat beside him. Robin was probably one of the only 'girl' friends he had, well, other than Emme and Lily, if you really counted them. Robin seemed to have great timing on everything, and she helped him take his mind off of Lily for a bit. "How's life treating you?" |

She wasn't late, but she certainly wasn't early. It seemed almost the entire class was full, but there was an empty chair next to Rayne. "Wotcher Rayne," she said cheerfully, dropping her bag on the desk and plopping into the chair.

Hallie broke into a smile as she raised her hand to her non-sticky hair. Now it was back to its usual frizzy style. This was a huge relief, because she'd already been having fears of gaining some odious new nickname, like "goo girl" or something. "Wow, thank you!" she said. "Both of you." Extending her hand to Ruecain, she said, "I'm Hallie. It's nice to meet you, Ruecain. That's a pretty cool name." "Yea, you're name is cool. Very original," Gage said. "And I'm Gage Oliver." He smiled and as Hallie and Ruecain continued on in conversation, Gage pulled out a spare piece of paper and began doodling on it, vaguely pausing to listen to Ruecian and Hallie. "What can I say. My mom has class." Ruecain said. He notice Gage was doodling on his paper. "You like drawing Gage?" Ruecain asked curiously. Ruecain had mixed feelings when it came to drawing. If it was good he was positive about it. If it was bad then he would be negative about it. |

Seth walked in hurridly and slid into a seat behind his friend Maxi.
"Max, am I seriously on time??" He asked, looking at his watch and tapping the face lightly to see if it was working. Seth wasn't really a prompt person, and was usually late for his classes.
"Hello," he said to the Gryffindor beside Maxi. "I'm Seth Inophen"

She said trying to sound smart. Usually she didn't hang around Slytherins but this Slytherin seemed nice. |

He smiled at her brightly. She probably didn't really accioate with many Slytherins, but it was commonly known around Hogwarts that he didn't really care about the house system and treated everyone equally.
"How are you Speller?" He asked, hoping she didn't mind the last name title, since there were 2 Natalies and it was easier for him.

Natalie smiled at Seth, He was a nice guy. That was the first time she was called by her last name; Of Course she didn't mind, it was just totally unexpected. "Oh Me? I'm fine! What about you Inophen?" she thought being called by her last name was a good idea as there were two Natalie's. Come to think of it, that's probably where Seth got the idea.

"I just do it to make time fly by at home." Ruecain said Looking around to see if class had started ,but seeing that the professor wasn't there he went back to talking with Gage. " I'm better playing the piano seeing that I can't shrink one I make due. Though I have a harmonica." Ruecain explained quickly.

Samantha hadn't bought all her supplies yet for her potions class, and once again debated on whether she would show up this week or next week. In the end she couldn't handle the boredom and decided to show without her supplies. The ones she had in Beauxbatons were still packed at home and besides it was time for a change, new school afterall. She'd go out and buy what she needed later, perhaps she could get Caleb to go with her.
Pondering that she stepped into the classroom, it was nearly full. "Great" she thought siletly to herself, where did she intend to sit? Being new herself she didn't know anyone. Well that wasn't entirely true, she knew some of the more prominent names in the room and could tell who was who if only because she grew up with these names whispered in her ear again and again by her mother who constantly wished for a good match for Samantha.
She tried pushing those bitter feelings away and once more returned her focus on finding a seat.
