Rochelle walked up to a familiar house and knocked on the door. They didn't have to wait long before they were welcomed into the house. Rochelle felt more at ease around these people. The main reason was that they took care of Dawn better than she had been taken care of. For a moment, Rochelle felt slightly ashamed that she couldn't take better care of her.
She squeezed Sully's hand as she took a seat on the empty couch. For a moment, the Gretchen ordeal was pushed to the back of her mind, and she became excited that she was going to see her friend.

Sully sat down next to Rochelle. Perhaps since he had been spending so much time with her, he had begun to sense her feelings, because he could tell that she was feeling positive at that moment. She was relaxed and comfortable, and hopeful. Knowing that she was feeling so upbeat made him feel the same way.
He squeezed her hand in return, but decided to keep quiet for the time being. Not all that long ago, he had actually hunted people like this, blinded by his own prejudices. It seemed hard to imagine now that he could have ever felt that way, and he was grateful to Rochelle for coming into his life and changing how he saw the world.

Skye smiled at the happy couple. Most humans made her uneasy, but it helped to see that this one was so in love with a fellow werewolf. If only more humans could see what good people werewolves could be!
"I think Dawn is sleeping now," she said in her quiet voice. "But I can check on her and see if she is awake. I am certain she will be pleased to see you. She is a bit confused at being surrounded by so many unfamiliar faces."

Rochelle smiled at the girl who entered the room. They were all nice people and the kind that she wanted Dawn to be around, however, she knew that Dawn would probably go back to Gretchen after all of this was over.
"Thank you. Although, if she's sleeping, don't wake her. I don't want to disturb her while she sleeps. I'm sure she needs it."

Skye nodded. "I will check. Just wait right here." She started to leave, but, remembering her manners, took a step back and turned to them once again. "By the way, I am called Skye. Just let me know if you need anything."

"It's nice to meet you Skye," she said politely. This girl reminded Rochelle a little of Dawn, in the way she carried herself. She knew that Skye probably already knew who she was but she felt it necessary and polite if she introduced herself and Sully. "I am Rochelle and this is Matt," said Rochelle pointing to Sully. She remembered quickly that no one else called him that. "Or, Sully as you may have heard." She gave Skye another smile.

Skye smiled. "It is nice to meet you both. I have heard much about you from Zander. We're all willing to do whatever we can to help you," she said. "I will go and see if Dawn is awake now."
She gave them both one last smile, then left the room with small, graceful strides.

Sully watched as the girl left the room, then turned back to Rochelle. It was hard to imagine a gentle, shy girl like Skye as a werewolf, but now that he understood more about werewolves, it almost made sense. She had a strange, other-worldly quality to her, so very different from many human girls. He had to admit, Zander's pack was friendly and welcoming. They seemed to have made a home of it in this house.
"Tell me about Dawn," he said gently. "You speak of her very fondly... were you close?"

Rochelle turned to Sully as Skye left the room. "I guess you would say close. Buck was the one that found her. Ever since, she has been a part of Gretchen's. Dawn is fragile, as Gretchen would say. Something is wrong with her and none of us know what it is. When she tries to think to hard or tries to remember something she gets headaches and blacks out. I've always felt bad for her. Other than that, Dawn is a good friend. She's kind to everyone she knows, but she's also shy around new people," said Rochelle. "I was with her a lot because there was hardly anyone else that wanted to deal with her. I didn't mind it at all. She was, and still is, nice to talk to. Dawn is actually my first friend."

Sully smiled. "I'm glad to know you had at least one friend there. I hope somehow Madam Pomfrey can figure out what's wrong with her and help her to get better." He squeezed her hand. He wondered about the girl, Dawn. From the sound of it, he couldn't quite imagine Gretchen putting up with a weak link in her pack.

Rochelle nodded. "I'm sure that Madam Pomfrey will figure something out. The way that Zander seemed to speak of her, she's the best person for it. I just hope that Dawn won't be scared of her. I can try to talk to Dawn and explain that Madam Pomfrey won't hurt her." She sighed. "I hope that she will understand." Rochelle looked to Sully and smiled. "I'm sure that you'll like her though."

"I think having you here will only help her," Sully said, patting her hand. "She's got to be confused, and it will help her to see someone she knows well. But, after what you've said about her, I can't imagine why Gretchen wouldn't trade for her. Is revenge really that much more important to her than a weak and fragile member of her own pack?"

Rochelle sighed for a moment. "I'm not sure. Unless Gretchen knows that Dawn is being taken care of, so she's not worried about it until after this. Once Gretchen has her mind made up about something, nothing can change it. She was set to come after you way before Dawn came here. Remember back in France? We were following you. It was Buck's idea of getting you out of the way so you couldn't kill any of us. Needless to say we didn't finish what he set off to do. Once that happened, Gretchen lost it. She was going to finish what Buck started, but not so that you couldn't kill us, but so that she could kill the person that killed her mate. That's when she sent me in to find you and talk to you." She paused for a moment. "So, it doesn't matter that Dawn is here in her eyes I don't guess. She knows that Zander is not going to hurt her, plus she wants to do what she is set on. Nothing gets in her way."

Skye barely made a sound as she slipped into back into the living room. She saw that they were talking, and she hesitated to interrupt. When it seemed that they had reached a slight break in their conversation, she cleared her throat lightly. "Dawn is awake," she said her her soft voice. "She was very happy to hear that you were here, Rochelle. She would very much like to see you now."

She squeezed Sully's hand just before Skye spooke. Turning her head, she smiled. Her excitement returned when she found out that Dawn was awake. Rochelle stood up. "OK. Please take me to her?" She turned to Sully. "Come with me," she said. "I want you to meet Dawn. I'm sure that she'll be happy to meet you."

Suly hesitated. "I'd love to meet her," he said. "But I think you should go in first and talk to her, then bring me in when she's ready. If she's as sensitive as you say she is, I don't want to frighten her. Besides, I'm sure you have a lot to talk about with her, and you don't want me around to interfere." He leaned in and kissed her cheek. "Go on, talk to her. I'll wait out here."

Rochelle nodded. "OK. I'll see you in a few minutes then," she said. She squeezed his hand and then let go, smiling. Walking into the room that Skye showed her, the smile on her face grew as her eyes laid on Dawn. "Dawn," she said excitedly. Rochelle quickly walked over to the side of the bed. "I've missed you Dawn. I'm glad to see that you are being taken good care of! How are you?" Although she wanted to continue about how she was happy to see her, Rochelle knew that she needed to slow down. She didn't want Dawn to get sick again.

Dawn smiled weakly and held out her hand for Rochelle to take. "Chelle," she said happily. "Oh, it has been so long since I've seen you... Gretchen said you went away to join the enemy, but I didn't know what that meant. I am glad to see you. Are you OK? Why did you leave? I've missed you..."

"I'm just fine Dawn," said Rochelle taking her hand. "At first Gretchen sent me out to find out about Sully, the hunter. The more time I spent with him, the more I felt funny. I didn't understand it. I kept on trying to find out more about him because Gretchen told me to. I figured out finally that I fell in love with him. Gretchen knew that. I couldn't stay because he was human and he was a hunter. But, now he's not a hunter, he gave up on that." She felt heat rising in her cheeks. "He's my mate now. That's why I left. I'm sorry Dawn. I should have let you know why, but I was scared that Gretchen wouldn't have let me go."
Rochelle sighed and smiled at Dawn. "But, I'm back now, to stay." She moved a piece of hair from Dawn's forehead. "Zander's pack have been treating you well. You look good."

Dawn's eyes seemed to be very far away for a few minutes, as she fell into silence. It almost seemed as if she hadn't heard Rochelle, or that she was having another one of her attacks. But then she spoke again, her eyes still far away and not looking at Rochelle. "What is it like to be loved by someone, Rochelle? Please tell me. I tried to ask Quinn when she told me she was in love with Korbel, but she just patted my head and told me not to worry about it."
