Sully had apparated directly to the Hogs Head, where he rushed in and informed Zander that Dawn was having another attack, and he was going directly up to Hogwarts to fetch Madam Pomfrey. Zander was able to get off work and go with him, so together they had rushed over to Hogwarts and talked to Madam Pomfrey, who was of course willing to come.
It took just a little over half an hour for the three of them to apparate right in the middle of the bedroom. As soon as they did, Sully rushed over to Rochelle and put his arms around her. "How is she? Is she OK?"

Just as she was giving up trying to figure out what Dawn said, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her. "She blacked out again. Although, I think she's going to be alright. Before she blacked out she was trying to tell me something, but I only understood three words, 'friend', 'attacked', and 'bit'. I've tried to figure out what she was saying, but I can't put it together," Rochelle said with confusion still on her face. She looked from Dawn to Sully, then to Zander and the healer woman, and back again to Sully.

Madam Pomfrey stepped forward, her face compassionate. "I understand the girl is having headaches and seizures--fits where she begins shaking uncontrollably? Can you tell me of any other symptoms that she has? I want to have a look at her, but I want to be sure of what I should be looking for before I start. I understand that she was mistreated at the hospital when she was younger, and I don't want to repeat that mistake."

Rochelle looked to Madam Pomfrey and nodded her head. "When she tries to remember something or think a little harder than she normally does, she says that her head hurts." There was something about the woman that Rochelle immediately trusted. She had a sense of kindness about her. "After Dawn says her head hurts, she usually blacks out and starts shaking. This time she did something I don't remember her doing. She tried to speak, but I didn't understand what she was saying."

Madam Pomfrey frowned. The memory problems and the headaches... they sounded almost like a botched memory charm. The seizures weren't typical of that, but perhaps if the girl was already vulnerable to them, the headaches could trigger them. If that was the case, the seizures could be controlled with a potion. Of course, memory charms, once improperly performed, were very difficult to repair. She had potions that she could use to help the girl regain her memory safely, but they didn't always work as well as one would hope. However, at least they had no harmful side effects... they either worked, or they didn't.
"OK," she said in a gentle tone. "I'm going to run a scan of her head using my wand. It will just give me a look at what is going on inside. I promise it won't hurt her at all."

Again, Rochelle nodded. "Alright." She didn't know anything about what the woman was going to do but she seemed nice enough, therefor Rochelle didn't bother to question her. Moving from her sitting position on the bed, and gently pulled Sully with her so that the woman could have plenty of room to work.
Becoming curious as to what the woman was going to do, Rochelle watched her.

Poppy stepped forward and took out her wand. Murmuring a soft incantation, she slowly waved her wand over Dawn's head. After a moment, an image began to appear above her, showing her brain. As the image enlarged, Madam Pomfrey was able to see what was going on inside the girl's brain, and where the damage was. She continued to look at the image for several minutes, not saying a word. Once she was sure she had examined everything carefully, she waved her wand again and the image disappeared.
"It's as I feared," she said at last. "She's been hit with several poorly applied memory charms. She also suffers from epilepsy, a condition that causes the headaches and shaking fits that you've seen. The memory charm blocks her from remembering certain things, and when she tries, it triggers headaches and seizures, leaving her memory obliterated." She shook her head gravely. "I am not sure who would put that kind of spell on the girl, but whoever did it really messed her up. I'm not entirely sure I can fix her completely, but there are a couple of techniques I can try. The memory problems in particular will be hard to fix. But I do have something I can give her that will stop the headaches and shaking. Just tell me what you want me to do."

Rochelle bit her bottom lip as Madam Pomfrey took her time. As she spoke, Rochelle tried to understand what she was saying. She didn't know who did those charms on Dawn. "I'm not sure who would have done it. I remember Buck saying that he rescued Dawn from some place where the people where always in white." Although, Rochelle found herself beginning to doubt what Buck said. This lady was a healer, and she wasn't bad. More of the healers had to be like her, rather than what Buck told her and the others.
"Do what needs to be done. I don't know anything about what you are doing, but I trust you in doing what has to be done. I just want Dawn to be better and be able to remember things when she wants to without pain and shaking."

Poppy gave her a reassuring smile and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I will do everything I can for her," she said. "And I promise I won't hurt her."
Looking back at Dawn, she sighed. "I'm going to need to brew a potion for her, which she will have to take every day. It will prevent the headaches and seizures. I'll need to wait until she wakes up before I can give it to her. There's another potion which will help her short-term memory, but before I give that to her I want to try something else. It seems to me that someone worked very hard to keep her from remembering something, which means that she may have something very traumatic in her past. But she wants to remember it, desperately. I would like to try something called hypnosis, which will enable me to get a look into her subconscious and possibly help loosen that memory. But she must have the anti-seizure potion first.... I don't want to trigger another one."

What Madam Pomfrey said made sense. Now, Rochelle sort of figured that what Dawn was trying to tell her was what happened, but she couldn't figure out what Dawn had told her exactly. "How long will it take to make the potion for headaches," Rochelle asked with curiously. She was in slight amazement that there were potions that helped with just about anything. Gretchen and Buck and told them that all the healers were bad and it was best to stay away from them, but Rochelle thought that now, they were wrong. Madam Pomfrey was the complete opposite of what she had ever heard.

"I brought most of the necessary ingredients with me," Madam Pomfrey replied, pointing to the bag she had left in the corner. "So it shouldn't take long. Maybe an hour. Hopefully, she'll be awake by then. Then I'll need another hour to make sure the potion is working before I attempt the hypnosis."

Zander stepped forward. "Thanks, Poppy," he said. "I'm really glad you could help. I knew we could trust you." He gave a smile at Rochelle, knowing that she was probably still worried for her friend. He hoped that, after meeting Poppy, she was feeling a little more reassured.
"Come with me, and I'll take you to the kitchen to work on your potion. Skye manages the herbs and plants, she may be able to help you if there are any supplies that you still need."
He led her out of the room quietly, leaving Rochelle and Sully alone with Dawn.

Sully had watched the whole thing quietly, holding on to Rochelle for support. Now that Zander and Madam Pomfrey had left the room, he squeezed her hand. "Are you OK?" he asked her. He knew it had to be hard to see her friend suffering so much. But Madam Pomfrey had been very helpful and encouraging, so he hoped that Rochelle was feeling a little more optimistic. "You heard Madam Pomfrey. She's going to take good care of Dawn."

Rochelle looked to Sully with a smile. "Yeah, I'm OK." She knew that Madam Pomfrey would take care of Dawn. She had this smell about her that seemed to calm her down from worrying and it also seemed to let her know that Gretchen and Buck had been wrong about the healers. Rochelle was glad that they were wrong, because now Dawn would get the help that she needed.
"I know. Madam Pomfrey is the opposite of what I have been told. She seems like she's a nice lady."
