Wesley knelt down beside his daughter and picked her up in his arms. She was so small, so fragile, and it scared him to see what the visions could do to her. She was exhausted, gasping for breath, and her eyes were rolling back in her head. He felt her wrist and her pulse was thready. He raised his eyes to Dumbledore. "The visions are too much for her... is there anything I can do for her?"

Dumbledore shook his head. "I am afraid this is well out of my range of expertise," he said. "I will check with Madam Pomfrey again, and also with Professor Simple, our Divination professor. Between the two of them, perhaps they can help her."

Athena, meanwhile, had turned to Coda when the girl spoke. "A... a dog? Like... Alastor's Animagus form?" she said, beginning to feel hopeful in spite of herself. "Does Tis know which way he went? Did the men catch him?"

Coda asked Tis the question then looked at her mom, "He didn't see, his scent was different from his human one." She looked down worried about her dad, she was scared that he was gone for good.

Athena looked at Coda, and then at Dumbledore. She wanted to find Alastor, and to know if he was OK. But maybe Dumbledore was right... maybe he would be safer if she didn't know. Eying the wolf uncertainly, she held out her arms to Coda. "I know he can run pretty fast as a dog. I'm sure he got away. And hopefully, he can come back soon, or at least send us a message to let us know he's all right," she said.

Coda nuzzled Tis then went over to Athena, she missed Tis and the others but she missed Alastor more. She hugged Athena still worried about Alastor, "I want him here." She said as she buried her face into Athena's shoulder.

Athena blinked back her tears and pulled Coda closer to her. "I know you do. I do, too. We were supposed to get married..." She closed her eyes, imagining Coda as her bridesmaid in a pretty pink dress, Alastor in his black dress robes... it was all too much. The fragile hold she had on her emotions shattered, and she broke down in sobs.
She'd been here before. When her first husband, Patrick, had been killed on his mission for the Ministry, she had been sure she would never love again. She was prepared to live alone from that point on. She'd never expected to meet Alastor and to fall in love with him, but she had been so filled with hope for the future. And now it was all gone, all over again. Even if Alastor was alive, the chances were, he would have to stay in hiding for the forseeable future. She was not going to get the second chance she'd hoped for. In fact, she was probably going to have to spend the rest of her life looking over her shoulder, waiting for the people who had gone after Alastor to come after her.
It just wasn't fair.

Coda held onto her mom worried and scared, Tis could smell so many scents but he focused on Coda. She was really scared that her dad was never going to return, she didn't know much about the humans but so far she thought they were like wolves.

Athena wiped away her tears. She couldn't allow herself a moment of self-pity. She was the parent, now of three. She needed to be the strong one. Putting her arms around all three children, enfolding them all into a little circle in her arms. "Whatever happens, we're going to be OK," she said decisively. "But we're going to need a place to stay. We can't stay here tonight."
