Emily laughed. She was going to have to get used to Vincent being the Minister of Magic and him being gone all day doing whatever. "Don't worry about it. I'm sure there will be some time. You'll be a great Minister of Magic no matter what happens." She squeezed his hand. Emily knew that she would stand beside him on whatever choices he made while he was in office.

He leaned down to kiss her. "Thanks for the vote of confidence. But I must admit, I'm a bit nervous. It looks like the first thing I'm going to have to deal with on taking office is the disappearance of Alastor Domino. Did you hear about this? Some Death Eaters broke into his house and destroyed the place, and there's literally no trace of him. He just vanished." He shook his head sadly. "It's a terrible thing... he was such a nice guy. And until we can find a way to stop Voldemort once and for all, things like this are going to keep happening."

Emily's eyes widen slightly. "Just disappeared?" The news was shocking, she had to admit. The thought of Voldemort picking the aurors off one by one came to mind. It was disturbing to say the least, but she couldn't think about things like that. "Don't be nervous though," she said. "I'm sure that you'll do fine. You're smart enough for it, and I'm sure that the wizarding community wouldn't just pick just anyone for Minister of Magic. I know I wouldn't want just anyone for the job." Emily gave him a wink.

"Yes, I'm afraid so," Vincent said grimly. "We're going to have to increase security at the house, and probably at the Ministry as well. After all, we had a murder right in the ministry last year, when Craven was Minister. Of course, Craven committed the murder, but still... we're living in dangerous times. We're all going to have to be very careful."
He smiled and squeezed her shoulder. "Thanks, Em. When you say it, I can almost believe it."

"Craven was a creep. I don't know see why people voted him Minister of Magic. But you on the other hand are completely opposite. I'm not just saying that by the way. I didn't just vote for you because I'm with you. I voted for you because I know how you are." Emily put her arm around his waist. "And you'll be fine. I promise. You just have to believe in yourself, no matter how corny that sounds."

"Thanks," Vincent said. "Now I just need to appoint a new head auror to replace me. I was thinking of choosing you, actually, but I don't want to be accused of favoritism, just because we're going to be married. My next choice would probably be Angelique."

"Honestly, I would say Angelique would be better," she replied. "It's not that I wouldn't want the job, but with a baby on the way I don't think that I could do as good of a job as Angelique could." Emily smiled. "Plus, I think she'll enjoy it."

Vincent nodded. "Yes, that's just what I was thinking," he agreed. "She likes to be in charge, and I think she'll do well. And as for you," he said, kissing her on the tip of her nose, "I rather hope you will consider cutting down on your workload, at least during the pregnancy. I don't know what I'd do if you got hurt."

"I'll be fine," she said. "I'm almost finish with what I started before I came to Hogwarts, then after that I'll work on the decorations and all that for the wedding. Once that's over I'll think about cutting down on my workload. Promise. I won't be taking any missions, I'll just work on paperwork. Plus I don't think paperwork will be too dangerous, unless I get a paper cut." Emily looked up to him and grinned.

Vincent grinned back. "Oh, I don't know. You could probably get buried under a falling pile of paperwork and suffocate," he said with a wink. Then, laughing, he shook his head. "No, that all sounds good," he said. "As long as you don't push yourself too hard, I'm sure you'll be fine. Sometimes I think you're tougher than I am."

"I'll try not to," she said laughing. "I'll do enough just to keep me busy so I'm not sitting in the house doing nothing." Emily squeezed his hand. "You're the one that made me this way." She thought that she would go home today and start on looking through what she had, and then tomorrow, she would go in to work for a little while. "I'm going to head back home. I guess I'll see you when you get off work?"

Vincent smiled at her, reaching over to touch her hair. "Don't be silly," he said. "Work can wait. Right now, I need to walk you home. I know, I know... you're fine. But I want to make sure you make it home safely, OK? I mean, not just because of the baby... who knows what else might happen?" He kissed her quickly on the lips. "And before you try, I won't take no for an answer."

Emily was about to protest, but his lips were on hers before she could say a word. She was thinking to tell him that nothing would happen but he beat her to it again. Sighing, Emily looked up at him. "You know me too well," she said with laughter. "Alright then. Let's go home." Taking his hand, she began to walk forward. "While you're there, you can help me with your part of the plans. It won't take too long."

Vincent laughed and squeezed her hand. "Ah, now I should have known that one was coming," he said. "If I'm coming home with you, you're going to put me to work. Well, very well, you know I can't deny you anything. What do you need me to do?"

"Yes, you should have," she said wink. "And I thank you for being willing. I need you to help me decide on who we're sending the invitations out to. After that, I'm sure that I can find you something else to do, unless you're extremely willing to go back to work." Emily gave him a grin.
