Emily nodded as Vincent stood up. She was wanting to know herself. Poppy seemed to be dragging out the news and Emily was starting to get impatient. She wasn't one to become impatient, but this was driving her crazy!
Relief hit her when Poppy returned. Now, maybe she would go ahead and tell them. "Yes Poppy. Please go ahead and tell us before Vincent starts to worry to much."

Madam Pomfrey smiled at them both. "There is nothing to worry about," she said. "Or, at least, not yet. Not for another 8 months or so." She laughed at their confused faces. "Emily, dear, I'm very happy to say that I was wrong when I said you couldn't have children. You've healed very well... and you're pregnant!"

Not for another 8 months or so
Emily gave Madam Pomfrey a confused look after this, however it faded. A slow smile crept across her face and she close her eyes, relaxing. She couldn't describe how she felt. Joyful wasn't a strong enough word for it. "Thank you," said Emily looking to Poppy. She glanced up to Vincent, still smiling.

For a long moment, Vincent was stunned into silence. A million thoughts ran through his mind at once and he simply couldn't vocalize any of them. He just stared at Emily, an expression of shock mingled with joy on his face. Then, abruptly, he threw his arms around Emily and held her tight. He knew how much she had wanted this, and he had wanted it, too. But he had given up all hope, and never expected such news.

Looking to Vincent she didn't know how exactly she should react, except for smile. A laugh escaped from Emily as Vincent held her tightly. She put her arms around his neck and held on to him just as tightly. Kissing his cheek, Emily put her head on his shoulder. She didn't know what to say and she figured that she didn't have to.

Vincent laughed and kissed her happily. "A baby!" he gasped at last. "This is wonderful... Emily, I'm so happy!" He pulled back and kissed her firmly on the lips. "I have even more news... I was waiting to tell you, because I was afraid you were sick, but... I just got word today. I've been elected Minister of Magic! And now that I know you're OK, and that we're having a baby, too... I think this might just be the best day of my life!"

"Minster of Magic," repeated Emily excitedly. "Congratulations!" Maybe now, of all the bad that had happened, the good was coming to balance it all out. Now, they were having a baby, and Vincent was elected Minister of Magic. Emily kissed him. This was the best day of her life at least. "We'll have to do something to celebrate your achievement!"

Vincent kissed her again. "I was really surprised that they chose me... I was sure they'd choose Christian Matthews. But I guess the fact that there haven't really been any Death Eater attacks lately gave me the edge. And now we're going to have a baby... we should celebrate both, don't you think? And we're going to have to get to work on planning that wedding!"

"Well, I personally believe that you deserve the postion, but then again I guess my opinon is a bit biased." Emily laughed. "And yes. I'm running behind on the planning! I sort of neglated finishing some things up once I filled in for Lucie. Now that I have a little more time on my hands, maybe I'll be able to juggle the little bit of paper work I need to finish at the Ministry and the plans."

Vincent smiled. "Well, when you get a chance, you really should invite Isabella over to do some more wedding planning. We haven't even set a date yet!" He laughed and shook his head. It seemed hard to believe that so much time had passed since they had met and fallen in love. Now, suddenly, he was Minister of Magic, and Emily was pregnant. "I'd love to have a big wedding... but we're going to have to have a lot of security there..."

"I should. I just don't know how busy she's been with school and with Conor. Maybe inviting her over will relieve some stress that she may have. I'll ask her today," said Emily. "Maybe a good idea would be to look on a calender and just randomly pick a day with our eyes shut! That could possibly be helpful, unless you have a date in mind. I don't really want to be huge when we have the wedding actually." She gave him a sheepish grin. "I can do the small stuff when I get home, like the invitations, so those will already be out, but we need to pick a day so I can do that." Emily sighed. There was going to be a lot of things she would need to get done.

Vincent thought for a minute. "I'd like to have it soon, actually. Like, before Christmas. I mean, now that you're expecting and I'm Minister of Magic, I really shouldn't be unmarried much longer, if you know what I mean. People are going to expect me to hold to a certain standard, you know. Oh, speaking of which... I've decided to sell the Hog's Head. Dumbledore's brother, Aberforth, is interested in buying it, and I'm thinking I'll agree to it, as long as he keeps Zander as bartender. What do you think?"

"I know what you mean, and I believe I can have everything ready by the end of next month, or the beginning of December," said Emily. "What, no more George?" She started to laugh. "I think that will OK. I believe that Aberforth will keep Zander as bartender. I don't see why he wouldn't."

Vincent grinned. "Yeah, I think old George is about ready to retire. But I'm sure he'll visit from time to time." He laughed and kissed her nose, unable to believe just how happy he was at that moment. "Aberforth is an odd guy, I gotta tell you. I think he'll fit in perfectly at the Hog's Head."

Emily put a hand over her heart. "I'll miss dear ol' George. I hope he continues to do well," she said with a grin. She couldn't help but laugh. "Well, I find it hard to imagine anyone in Dumbledore's family to be normal, no offense to him or anything." Emily sighed. "I believe that I'm ready to leave the Hospital Wing. I need to get started on a few things."

Vincent couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah, Dumbledore is certainly... eccentric. But Aberforth is even stranger. He asked me something about keeping goats in a pen out back." he shook his head. "But I'm sure he'll do a good job running the place in George's absence."
He put a hand to Emily's head and checked for a temperature. She seemed fine now, and the little flush in her cheeks was very becoming. "Well, if you're sure you're ready to leave," he said. "I just don't want you to overdo it, OK?"

"I'm not going to over do it," replied Emily. She felt a lot better than she did earlier this morning. "I'm just going to go over a few decorations that I was looking at before and decide on a few things, and start filling out invitations. I don't really think I can over do anything by just doing that." She looked at him and smiled. "And then, I'm going to attempt to cook. Hopefully it will turn out decent and edible."

"All right, then," Vincent replied, leaning down to kiss her forehead. He waved over at Poppy. "We're heading out now, Poppy!" he called. "Thanks again, for everything!" Then he held out his hand to help Emily to her feet. "Shall we now?"

"Thank you," Emily said glancing towards Poppy with a smile. She happily took Vincent's hand and got to her feet. "We shall." She walked with him out of the hospital wing. "What if the wedding was December 10th? That would give me plenty of time to get everything finished and have everything set up. I'm going to get Isa to go with me this weekend possibly to find dresses. If I don't go soon, then I doubt I'd have time."

"Hmmm... December 10.... that sounds good, but of course, I'll have to check my schedule first." He laughed at how pompous that sounded. To continue the joke, he affected a arrogant sounding voice. "After all, I am a very busy and important person now..."
He shook his head. "Ugh, this whole Minister of Magic thing is going to be hard to get used to... I hope I won't be too busy to spend time with you or anything."
