D.A.D.A. Class 1

[Isabella Rothschild]

Isabella arrived at the school, ready to teach her first class. She was feeling unusually nervous, as she hated having to leave Conor behind. But she knew he would be fine with Voltaire and his parents watching over him. Still, it felt wrong to be without the baby.

Isabella forced herself not to think about this as she waited for the students to arrive.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius strolled into the room, looking as if he was just out for a leisurely walk, rather than heading to class. As he passed Isabella, he nodded at her. "Hey, Ms. Rothschild," he said in greeting. He sat down in the second row near the middle of the room, then smiled at her. "So what're we learning today?" he asked.

[Isabella Rothschild]

"Good morning, Sirius," Isabella greeted him. "Today we're just going to start out with a quick review of last year's topics. Nothing too complicated."

[Lily Evans]

Lily was in a good mood as she went to Defense Against the Dark Arts class. She had her hair pulled back from her face in a loose ponytail, and she was whistling softly to herself as she walked. She gave a quick smile at Professor Rothschild, then chose a seat in the front row, ignoring Sirius, who was already there. Quietly she took out her book and began flipping through it casually.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius grinned as Lily pointedly ignored him. "Hey, Lily," he said. "That's OK, you can just pretend I don't exist. I'm cool with that. I gotta say, though, you're looking very good today. I swear you do it just because you know it makes James drool."

[Amy Icefire]

Amy slipped in a little after Lily. She smiled and said hello to the professor as she walked in and then looked for a seat. She personally didn't care for sitting in the first row, so she sat down next to Sirius. Not wanting to interrupt their conversation, she simply gave him a nod implying a hello.

[Severus Snape]

Severus walked into class. He felt supremely apathetic about another year of classes in general. Maybe it was just his mood that day, but he was fairly certain it would be a boring review.

[Kris Lupin]

Kris walked into the class, she had her hair in braided pigtails. She narrowed her eyes as she saw a girl sitting next to Sirius. She walked to the desk Lily was at then sat next to her, she got out her muggle drawing pad and muggle pencil. She leaned forward and began to draw a bird she had seen earlier.

[Amy Icefire]

She saw Sirius’s girlfriend walk in and expected her to come sit on the other side of him, but she didn’t. Amy had absolutely no desire to be involved in any more drama, so she pretended that she was bothered by her wobbly desk and quietly grabbed her bag and moved over several seats.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius saw Kris walk in the room and was surprised when she didn't come and sit next to him. He leaned across his desk and called out to her. "Kris! Hey, Kris! How come you're not sitting over here with me?" He tapped the empty desk to his right.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie was almost smiling as she walked into Defense Against the Dark Arts. She was always glad to see Isabella again. After class she would have to ask about Voltaire. She gave a quick nod towards Isabella, thinking to herself how odd it would feel to call her Professor Rothschild. But she would have to get used to it.

Glancing around the room, she saw Lily and Kris, and gave each of them a small wave before she went to sit next to Severus. "Hi, Severus," she said softly.

[Kris Lupin]

Kris cringed as his yelling was louder then it would be for everyone else, she composed her self before looking back at Sirius. "Well Lily and I are friends and I thought I would sit next to her.. you can come sit next to me if you want." She turned back to facing the front hoping he would sit by her.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius sighed. He wasn't crazy about sitting in the front row, but James and Remus weren't here yet, so at least he wouldn't be moving away from them. "Yeah, OK. I'll move. Hang on." He gathered up his books and got up out of his seat. It was starting to occur to him, however, that he was letting a girl boss him around. Sure, she was subtle about it. But still, she asked him to do something, and he was doing it. He felt a little unsettled as he slipped into the seat next to her.

[Kris Lupin]

Kris had a feeling he really didn't want to be there so she said, "You didn't have to move if you didn't want to." She had a bad feeling about their relationship, she wasn't sure why she guessed it was because she had found him by that girl. She looked at her drawing and found that the happy bird she had started out with was now sad and alone.

[Sirius Black]

"No, it's not that I didn't want to move," Sirius said. "You know I like being with you." He smiled at her, but the smile felt forced. What was going on with him? He still liked her, he knew that. She was still the prettiest girl in the room. When they were alone together, it still felt special and good and right. Maybe they just needed to have a little talk about their relationship. Of course... no guy ever liked to have the relationship talk with his girlfriend. Still... there were definitely some things they needed to talk about.

He reached over and touched her hair lightly. "I guess I'm just in a bad mood today. Do you forgive me?"

[Kris Lupin]

Kris smiled slightly and nodded, she hoped that was all that was wrong with him. She closed her drawing pad then put it and the pencil in her bag. She wasn't sure what to say to anyone at that moment, a part of her wanted to run out of the room just so she could think.

[Severus Snape]

Severus's glumness quickly brightened when he saw his friend Natalie. He thought she would be in a different class, but obviously she wasn't a stupid girl. He sat up and abandoned his scribbles in his old text book as answered Natalie's hello back. "Hello, so what do you think? Review and notes?" he said pointing in the direction of the professor and the board.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius relaxed a little. Soon his usual grin was back on his face and the strange feeling of doubt was fading away. "So, Kris, when we go to Hogsmeade this weekend, what do you want to do? Do you have any money to spend? I was thinking, if you wanted, we could check out the zoo."

[Kris Lupin]

"Money? No my fake mother only gave me enough for books, and other school supplies I had to lie for her to send me money so I could buy this." She got out the pencil and pad again, she sighed as she sat them on her desk. "I don't normally lie to her but anymore I don't like her."

[Sirius Black]

Sirius grinned at her. "Well don't worry about it, then," he said. "Cause my family is loaded. And my parents mostly hoard their money instead of spending it. They won't even keep most of it in Gringott's. Luckily, I know where they hide it, and I pinched some of it before I left this year. So I have plenty of spending money."
