Voltaire finally got his next lesson. His first year of teaching wasn't going as well as he would of liked. He consoled himself that he started half way through the year and his classes hadn't been a total loss...or so he hoped. He stood up from his desk and took his notes, the ones he needed now, and to his surprise Leo hopped out of his tub and quacked at him. Voltaire raised an eye brow at it and strode away from his desk and opened the door of his office and out into the hall, shutting it behind him. He entered his classroom and was pleased to see it had been kept up. Today he was going to have a short review, really not expecting great results, and to have the class pick whom would be dueling against each other. It was a new announcement he was going to make, The students were going eventually duel each other, one duel per class and they were going to study one another. he thought it was a brilliant learning plan, so that eventually it would be an interactive class and not book learning.
That's when he heard a quack behind him...Leo had followed.

Remus arrived for dueling class and noticed he was the first one there. Walking over to the front of the room, he smiled at Voltaire and said, "Hi, Professor." He noticed there was a duck standing next to Voltaire, and he raised his eyebrow at him. "Is the duck part of class?"

Sabrina walked in after Remus and sat down next to him. "Hi, Remus," she said, smiling at him. "Um, what's with the duck?"

Lucius swept into the room and sat down in the very back of the room. He really hated Professor Skipit-Rothschild, or whatever he was calling himself these days. Imagine, a man taking his wife's last name! But the Dark Lord would be pleased to know that he was keeping an eye on the traitors...

"Yes we will experiment on it" Said Voltaire seriously walking foward towards Remus sticking his nose with a gold star.
"No, He was one of the wedding gifts we recived and It just got older. " Leo quacked at this "It followed me, so we are going to ignore it and Not harm it!" he said chuckling.

Rori walked through the door and smiled at Voltaire, "Hey Voltaire!," she greeted him, "and Remus and Sabrina," Rori just didn't say anything to Malfoy, because she knew she'd get some smart remark. "Hey, it's Leo," she said watching the duck walk around the room. "Sometimes I wonder if he thinks he's part dog."

Leo quacked and jumped up on Malfoy's desk flapping his wings. Voltaire frowned at Leo and grabbed it off the boys desk and put it on his own.
"Bad duck! Very bad duck. " Leo looked sufficiently cowed. "Alright, Everyone Please Ignore the duck! Please take a seat!" he said taking a pinch of paper clips and transfiguring them into chairs for his students.

Rori laughed like mad in her head as it jumped on Malfoy's desk, although, she didn't dare laugh out loud. Rori took a seat and gave a grin to Leo.

Severus wandered into class, he had been letting his potion ferment and mature under his bed in the Slytherin rooms... He wondered if his improved potion would need the same fermentation time as the older version.
He looked up and saw Rori and waved to her and then noticed that Professor...Rothschild? had a duck on his desk. Instead of saying anything about the obvious, which he hated, he took a seat and waited for class to start.

"Hey Sev!" said Rori giving him a smile. Rori noticed the look on Severus' face. "Yes, that's Voltaire's pet duck, Leo. One of the many animals he got as a wedding gift," she whispered.

"Ah, He seems to have a lot of them... he could of given it to the grounds keeper couldn't of he?" Severus said looking at the duck as it hissed a Malfoy...well as a duck could hiss.

"Yeah, he could have, but I guess he didn't want to," Rori said to Severus. Rori slightly giggled as the duck 'hissed' at Malfoy. "I don't think Leo likes Malfoy much," Rori said trying to hide a grin. "Leo! Stop hissing at Malfoy. Just leave him alone before something happens to you!"

"Leo! bad duck!" Snapped Voltaire. "Ok, It seems we are still missing a few people...We can wait a little bit more but we'll start soon!...uh, Talk amongst yourselves for a bit! No wands and no passing notes because I hate trash!" he said at the head of the class room.

Andrea burst into the room and walked in, trying to look tough. She spotted only two other Slytherins, Lucius Malfoy, and Justine Torrance. She thought Lucius was cute, but he was always mean to her. Justine she didn't like at all. So she sat in the back on the opposite side from both of them.
A few minutes later, Jason entered the room and went to sit next to Justine. He put his arm around her and gave her a kiss on her cheek. "Hey," he said. "So what are we doing today?"

"Do you think that's everyone Rori? I thought we had more students in this class, It felt crowded before." said Severus as he shifted in his seat. "I think My chair was transfigured wrong." he said bending the desk part of his chair.

Rori gave a slight giggle as Severus bent part of his chair. "I guess that's everyone," she said shrugging. Rori glanced around again and noticed she didn't see Landon. "I wonder where Landon is," said Rori sort of frowning. "He's normally here before me, or just right after."

Narcissa walked slowly into the room as she always did. As she passed Severus, she looked to the girl next to him and sneered at her. Narcissa quickly took her seat next to Lucius. "Why does he associate with such low lives?" she mutter to Lucius referring to Severus. "But no matter, he'll learn soon enough I suppose," she added. Narcissa leaned in and gave Lucius a quick kiss on the cheek. "Hey," she said giving him a small grin.
