Dueling Class 3

[Severus Snape]

"He's bound to show up...He's a bit of a silent type isn't he? I talk more than him...And I'm Severus!" he said feeling much bolder since he had ever been. Having Rori as a friend really brought him out of his shell. "Justine however hasn't said a word to me in nearly two weeks...Do you think she doesn't like me anymore?" he asked Rori whispering because he didn't want anyone to over hear.

[Rori Logan]

Rori shook her head. "I don't think she hates you. I think it's just she has a boyfriend I guess," she said motioning in her direction. "Sometimes having a boyfriend or girlfriend changes someone I guess. But no worries, I honestly don't think she hates you. How could she? I mean your Severus, and I think your friend has a problem with me," she said referring to the blond slytherin girl.

[Severus Snape]

"Oh you mean Nissa? She treats everyone like that! even me sometimes" he said looking a little like a puppy dog for second, then shaking his head "If you mean Mistie...she also treats everyone like that." he leaned in a bit closer "Old family-centric" he whispered.

[Rori Logan]

Rori gave an 'oh' sound. "Well then. I'll live anyway," she said grinning. "I can't wait until the summer. I really want exams to hurry and be over with!"

[Severus Snape]

Severus made a face, he didn't want to go home for summer. "If I could...I'd stay here all summer long..." he said not wanting to think of being back at home. it would be worse than the Slytherin common room when it was packed!

[Rori Logan]

"Well, you could always come and stay and my house! I'm sure Isabella and Voltaire wouldn't really mind," said Rori. "You know you are always welcome."

[Severus Snape]

"Really!? I can go with you?" he said out loud, shocked that he was actually invited to someone Else's house. Then he realized that the class, even the duck, was looking at him. "uh... Sorry!" he said ducking down into his chair and little and prepared his notebook for 'notes'. He wrote on the page 'I'd love to! Please and thank you!' and then showed it to her and then erased it with the other end of his quill.

[Rori Logan]

"No problem," said Rori laughing. "I know Landon will come over sometime during the summer too, so it'll be fun," she said with a grin.

[Voltaire Rothschild]

Voltaire raised an eyebrow at the boy's outburst. He looked over his list and saw there were still a few missing, Including Anna. He couldn't wait any longer so he sighed and said "Hello Class, Today We are going to have a short test, I want a semi-detailed explanation of all the spells we've learned, Don't go nuts and give me an essay, just tell me how the spell works. I must also clarify that if you simply put "it makes you throw up" or another one lined response to the spell, then I'll give you half the points possible." he said Passing out papers with the spells written upon them.

Lucius rolled his eyes. "Severus Snape needs to learn what it is to be a Slytherin. Torrance is starting to learn," he whispered, pointing to Justine, "but Snape is a problem. I'll have a little talk with him later." He kissed Narcissa's hand and glowered at Voltaire as he handed out the tests.

Defendo:Defendo is usually used to protect another person and it's a green ball.

Botaro: Botaro was a quick whip like movement.it trips your enemy.

Protego:it makes a shield and fizzled out weaker spells.

Inefficax:it's a light blue curse that moves slowly.a spell slows down and weakens your opponent.Inefficax as a nearly graceful curve of the wand.

Jenny wrote her answers on the paper and check to make sure they were right then got up to Voltaire's desk and left her test on his desk and sat back right down and continue reading 1000 herbs and fungi.

[Justine Torrance]

Justine quickly wrote down her answers. She was aware that Jason was trying to read from her paper, and she tried to shield it slightly. Even though she wanted him to do well, she didn't want to get caught cheating.

Defendo: A type of shield charm that is best used to protect another person from a hex or jinx. It forms a green ball around the other person.

Botaro: This is a trip jinx that is done with a quick whip-like movement. This is particularly good in duels.

Protego: A shield charm to be used on oneself to block out hexes, jinxes, and weak curses.

Inefficax: A spell used to weaken your opponent during a duel or fight. It is a slow-moving spell that requires a gentle movement of the wand.

She finished her test and brought it up to Voltaire's desk, then sat down, fully aware that Jason was giving her an angry look.

"I'm tempted in giving extra credit for thoes that don't take forever in giving this back!" he called from his desk and a small, small pile of papers started to form....he was tempted in grading them at the moment, but he wanted to see all of them before judging to harshly.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus wrote down his answers quickly:

Defendo: This is a type of shield that is used to protect another person. It works as a green ball that surrounds the person and prevents spells from affecting them.

Botaro: A spell done as a whip-like movement with the wand. It is used to trip one's enemies, and is especially useful in duels.

Protego: This is the common shield charm, and can be used to protect oneself against minor spells. It will not work against stronger spells or Unforgivable Curses.

Inefficax: This slow-moving spell can weaken one's opponent and make them unable to perform powerful spells. It is light blue in color, and requires a slow and graceful movement of one's wand.

Remus walked up and placed his test on Voltaire's desk.

Sabrina carefully considered her answers before she wrote them down carefully.

Defendo: Defendo is a fairly powerful spell used to protect another person from harmful spells. It surrounds a person with a protective green bubble that blocks out spells. However, it will not protect against very strong spells, particularly Unforgivable Curses.

Botaro: Botaro is a trip jinx, which can be used to knock down an opponent, allowing for a quick getaway in a losing battle. It is occasionally mis-used as a prank, but it is a good spell to know. It is performed using a quick, whip-like flick of the wand hand.

Protego: Protego is a common shield charm. This is primarily used on oneself to block out weaker spells. It literally forms an invisible barrier, shutting out these spells. Again, like the Defendo spell, it will not block out very strong spells or Unforgivable Curses.

Inefficax: Inefficax is a weakening spell, and is used to render your opponent virtually helpless. It works by weakening the person, both physically and magically, and may make a person unable to perform magic at all, if performed with great force. However, the spell only lasts a short time, so it is best to take advantage of the spell while it is in effect. The spell is performed using a slow and graceful arc of the wand hand and it moves in a deceivingly slow, lazy fashion.

Satisfied with her answers, Sabrina walked up and placed her test on Voltaire's desk.

Severus perked up as he glanced at the parchment. It was pretty straight forward and it was the main spells they had covered in class and in DADA. He took out his quill and wrote in his small cramped writing with his nose almost touching the paper. he wrote extenstively on each spell, including some information that wasn't really covered in class, Information about when Ineffex was first really used effectively, and mentioning how it really did less damage to a group of wizards, rather than it's powerful effect on one. He wrote fairly quickly, but he looked up from his paper and saw it was fairly still readable and got up and handed his paper in.

((I'm doing it that way because that's what he'd do, but i'm lazy.))

Rori wrote on her paper quickly:

Defendo: Defendo protects a person from all spells, except for the Unforgivables. The spell, makes a green bubble that serves as a shield around the person.

Botaro: Botaro is used as a jinx to knock down an opponent in battle. This spell can be used as a quick getaway. Botaro is performed with a quick, whip-like flick of the wand.

Protego: Protego, like Defendo is a shield charm, although, Protego is normally used for the blocking of the weaker spells. It sort of forms an invisible barrier, and like Defendo it can block spells, except for the Unforgivables.

Inefficax: Inefficax is used as a weakening spell, and it leaves the opponent almost helpless. If Inefficax is used with great power, it can weaken the opponent both magically and physically. Although, the spell only lasts a short period of time. The spell is casted by using a slow arch with the wand hand and the spell moves toward the opponent slowly.

As soon as Rori looked over her paper and scribbled her name in the upper right corner, she placed it on Voltaire's desk and returned to her seat.

Voltaire waited for more papers to drift up to his desk and he waited...his head hit the desk asleep when he realized that no other papers were going to reach his desk, he stood up and yawned and said "You all took too long, so my really ambitious lesson will be postponed until next time when term starts again. We will begin a systematic dueling class where every single one of you will study spells and movements and then we will have one demonstration duel every lesson. You will all eventually duel each other all. so you can go now, until next time kids, I'll post your grades on this test later alright?" he said waving them all away as Leo flew the short distance to Malfoy's desk to quack at him and then fly back to a disapproving Voltaire. "Bad Leo!"
