Potions Class 8

[Albus Dumbledore]

Professor Slughorn waddled into his classroom and over to his desk. This time, at last, the large, cushy chair he had conjured was still there. He smiled to himself. It had only taken all term, but finally he was rid of the small, hard chair. He sat down in the chair and leaned back, waiting for his students to arrive.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus walked into Potions class, feeling particularly frustrated and depressed. Skye was still up in the Hospital Wing recovering from her injuries, Sabrina still refused to talk to him, and he hadn't found the right words to write to his father to ask if he had a sister that he'd somehow forgotten about. He couldn't even find any of his friends to talk to them about it. He flopped down in a seat near the back and slammed his books down on his desk. Without Sabrina's help in Potions, he was guaranteed to have the worst potion in the room.

[Kris Lupin]

Kris walked into Potions class, feeling worse then she did the day she spoke to Remus. Potions was a class she sorta liked, she wasn't the best but she wasn't the worst either. She didn't notice where she had sat until she was already sitting. She looked around and saw that she had sat near Remus, she didn't care she just hoped he didn't care either. She also hoped he was still mad at her for what she had told him.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus saw her walk in and sit near him. Glaring at her angrily, he blurted out, "Oh, great, so now you're following me around?" He got up and walked to the front of the room, hoping silently that James or Sirius or Rori would come in soon.

[Kris Lupin]

Kris sighed, she wished she had friends to get her mind away from the heartache she was feeling now. She felt like running from the class and the school just so Remus wouldn't have to see her. She glanced up at Remus and thought that she would do anything for him.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus sat there, fuming silently to himself. He wanted to walk right out of class... he'd never liked Potions, anyway. But instead, he took out a quill and some parchment and began to write a note to his father:

Dear Dad,

How are you? I miss you. I'm sorry I haven't written lately. School hasn't been going so well. I broke up with my girlfriend the other day, and now there's this weird girl who claims to be my sister. Is she telling the truth? I can't believe you would keep that from me, but she seems really convinced. What's going on?

Remus

He folded up the note and sealed it, then put it in his pocket. Later he would take it to the Owlery and send it to his father.

James walked in, figuring that he might want to consider attending classes soon in order to get any kind of passing grade in the exams. But he quickly left all his grief at the door as he entered the classroom and saw Remus sitting near the front of the class. He sat down in the seat next to him and grinned, "Hey, buddy. What's going on?" He asked, noticing how worried and unhappy Remus looked.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus looked up at James. "Hey, good to see you," he said. Leaning in a little closer, he nodded toward the girl in the back of the room. "See that girl back there? I've never seen her before, but she told me that she was my sister."

"Whoa! That's kind of strange. You're sure you've never seen her before?" James asked with wide eyes, shocked by the thought of Remus having a sister. "Maybe your dad mentioned something about her before and you just never realized it. You should ask him about it, if you're not sure." He suggested, shrugging.

[Alastor Domino]

Sirius had been sleeping a lot and missing most of his classes. Heck, he didn't even know what was going on with his friends. This morning, though, he had decided to go to class. He walked into the potions classroom and saw Remus and James.

"My two favorite pals." He said putting an arm around both of them. "What's up?"

[Remus Lupin]

"Hey, Sirius," Remus said. "I was just telling James about that girl back there. She thinks she's my sister, but I don't know her. I'm pretty sure my dad never mentioned her, but I already wrote him a letter to ask him about it." He sighed and leaned his head against his arm. "Oh, and Sabrina broke up with me. I guess I'm not having a good week."

"You're serious? You guys have already broken up?" James said, surprised at how short the relationship had lasted. "What'd you do that would make her want to break up this soon?" He asked. Sure, Remus hung around him and Sirius a lot, but he was still a pretty nice guy. James couldn't see someone wanting to break up with him so soon.

[Landon Travis]

Landon casually walked into the classroom and sat down near the back. He was thinking about sitting with Remus but figured that he would leave him alone to talk with his other friends. He took his potions book out of his bag and opened it up to a random page. Oh, how he hated Potions...

[Rori Logan]

Rori ran into class, thinking she was late, again. But when she got in there, she realized she wasn't late at all. Rori took a seat next to Landon. "I thought I was late, and it's a long run from the Common Room to here," she said catching her breath. "Hey Landon," said Rori with a grin. "Hey Remus, James, and Sirius," she said with the same grin on her face. Rori leaned over to Landon. "Do you have any idea why Remus is sad looking?" she whispered.

[Landon Travis]

"Nope. Not a clue." Landon whispered back. "But I agree, who doesn't look too happy." He said, watching Remus as he talked with James and Sirius, both of whom who he had never met before. "I haven't talked to him in a while, come to think of it. You should ask him about it." He suggested.

[Rori Logan]

"I probably will," said Rori. "It's just he's surrounded by Sirius and James, and I don't want to join in on their conversation. I'll see if I can't catch him later on in class or after class."

[Landon Travis]

"Well, I did see Sabrina crying and looking depressed the other day. Maybe something happened between the two of them?" Landon said. "Hopefully its nothing too serious though."

[Rori Logan]

"Oh," said Rori. "Like I said, I'll see if I can't talk to him about it. I know he's probably got to be feeling badly if they both where looking depressed."

[Sabrina St. Clare]

Sabrina walked slowly into class. She wasn't even sure why she was bothering to go to class at all. What did it really matter if she was going to die? She spotted Remus talking to James and Sirius and noted how pale and sad he looked. Seeing him like that stabbed at her heart. But it was better that he get over her now, than later. Or so she kept telling herself. But part of her wondered if she was really only hurting him more.

Avoiding everyone's eyes, she sat in the middle of the room, away from everyone else. She really didn't want to talk to anyone.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus shrugged. "I don't know why," he said. "She said she was going through something and she wouldn't tell me what it was or let me help her. I even talked to her sister, and she said she thought Sabrina was being stupid." He sighed and looked over, noticing that Sabrina had just walked into the room. She looked sad, too, he thought. "What do you think I should do?"
