Narcissa smiled again, but her smile faded away when a ravenclaw girl looked back there. Narcissa sneered at the girl, then looked over at Lucius. "Thank you. So, how's your day been so far?"

Landon had drank the potion and his boils were slowly dissappearing. He looked angrily at Lockhart, who had denied being the culprit. He just made himself forget about it, knowing how much of a loser Lockhart could be anyways, and turned to Rori, "Hey." He said, slightly disgruntled. "Yeah, I'm fine. Stupid hexes..." He muttered.

Lucius snickered, then looked at Narcissa. "It's been an annoying day of dealing with riff-raff, as always. But it's much better now that you're here," he said smoothly.

Justine kept silent and took a sidelong look at Malfoy. He did it, she was sure of it. But she was not about to tell on him. He was Head Boy, and he could easily make her life a living hell. She wanted no part of it. Instead, she clamped her mouth shut and focused her attention on Professor Slughorn.

"No one would like to confess?" Slughorn said, frowning. "Well, then. We are going to make a batch of Veritaserum! This is a very difficult potion to make, so I suggest you read the instructionsin your books very carefully. And since no one will confess, we will test the best potion on one of you and see if we can get a little information out of you about what just happened." He looked very stern. "Please turn to page 181 and get started!"

Rori opened her book and started to read the instructions. She frowned at them, this wasn't going to be easy she noted to herself. Rori made sure she had all her ingredients and carefully started working on her potion.

Landon turned his book to the correct page and began reading up on how to create "veritaserum". Apparently it was supposed to be pretty hard... He sighed and got all of the needed ingredients and items out of his cauldron and began the first step of the potion. Adding all of the ingredients.

As Rori added one of the last ingredients and stirred it. The potion started to foam. Rori quickly frowned and added a little more of the last ingredient. Luckly, the potion let off a light mist, like the book had said it would.

Mystie had snorted when she saw Lucius hex that kid. She was going to congratulate him when a blonde haired girl came and sat next to him. She fingured that now wasn't a good time to raise the subject. Mystie guessed that she wasn't really worthy of talking to a Malfoy anyhoo, which was a shame, because she really had taken a liking to him ... not that he knew that or anything (nor did her even know that she was on this earth).
She opened her potions book to page 181 and read through the instructions. This was pretty difficult. She knew that she wasn't gonna get this right (at all), and so just chucked in the ingredients anyhow.

Landon finished adding the ingredients to his potion and then let it simmer for about five minutes so that he could look around to get an idea of who could've hexed him. He could've sworn it was the Lockhart kid, but he seemed too stupid to know how to hex someone and cover it up. And then there was Malfoy, who was a possibility, as well as the girl sitting next to him who seemed to be his girlfriend.
Once a bit of his potion bubbled over the side and burned his skin, he woke up from his thoughts and immediately started to stir the contents of his cauldron to stop the bubbles. He stirred it long and hard for about five minutes to make sure it wouldn't bubble up again. That couldn't be a good sign. After he figured he had done enough stirring, he checked the color of his veritaserum. It was dull green, while the instructions had noted- if done right- it would be pink. Landon gulped and checked his instructions again to see what he might have done wrong. Once he couldn't find anything wrong with it, he just gave up and decided to settle with dull green and see what happened.

Mystie was hardly surprised when after 5 minutes her potion resembled something from Mars. It was an amazingly bright, lime green color, and it had the texture of mud. It also ponged of cod liver oil. "Well, that sucks." She muttered, as she lifted out the spoon-type thing, and it had started to dissolve. She rolled her eyes and started trying to stir it, but now it was starting to resemble cement that close to setting.

Justine frowned. It was all Malfoy's fault that they had to make this complicated potion. She was sure she'd get it completely wrong. She shot a look in Malfoy's direction and went about making her potion. The potion was supposed to be pink, but with each ingredient that she added, it seemed to get closer to the color of mud. By the time she had added her last ingredient, her potion was nearly black and horribly thick. It had the consistency of sludge and was bubbling slowly like a huge vat of tar. It was also emitting a foul odor. Justine held her nose and moved away from the cauldron.

Gia rushed into class. She couldn't believe she was late. "What did I miss?" she asked. "What are we doing today?" She looked at Professor Slughorn helplessly.

"Miss Campbell, please have a seat. We are working on Veritaserum today, page 181. And that'll be 5 points from Gryffindor for your lateness," Slughorn said, munching on some crystallized pineapple.

Gia frowned and sat down near the front. Quietly she opened her book to page 181 and read over the directions. This was going to be difficult, she realized. She took out her supplies and began to work on her potion.

Andrea rolled her eyes at the stupid girl who'd come in late. Then she turned back to her potion. She really didn't care if she did it right; this was a stupid class anyway. So she dumped her ingredients in, one by one, not really bothering to measure it. By the time she was done, the mixture had hardened into a solid green clump. She shrugged and waited for the Professor to check her work.
Jason, meanwhile, carefully measured out his ingredients and added them one at a time, stirring after each one. Still, when he was done, the potion looked sort of a dull orange color, rather than the pink it was supposed to be. He frowned and looked over at Justine. She looked pretty today, he thought...

Remus read through his ingredients, then looked at Sabrina. She seemed to be having trouble, and didn't offer him any advice. So he measured out his ingredients carefully, and added them as directed. Still, when he was done, his potion was not at all the pink color it was supposed to be. Instead, it was thin and watery and yellow in color. He made a face and tried to figure out what he had done wrong.

Sabrina read the instructions three times. This was definitely a hard potion--NEWT level! She got out her ingredients and measured them meticulously, stirring after each addition as instructed. When she added five drops of Eucalyptus oil, she carefully added one drop at a time to ensure she didn't use too much. After the last ingredient, she stirred it again and it began to turn pink. It was a dull pink, but it was pink. She sat back, satisfied with her work. According to the directions, the potion would actually not be able to be given to anyone today--it required a whole moon cycle to mature. She wondered if anyone else had noticed that, because it was on the next page.

Mystie bit her bottom lip and wondered how she couldmake the potion look slightly more... potion-like. She suddenly had an idea. Ok. It might be breaking the rules, but no one would no anything about it.
She reached into her bag and took out her pots of ink one after the other, hiding them behind her cauldron. Dark green, light green, lime green, mouldy green, really dark green... pink! It was a dark pink, but she hoped that it would work.
She quickly forced open the unused pot, and tipped the entire contents into the cauldron. She would never use pink ink anyhoo.
She stirred the potion a couple of times, and it turned a perfect colour of pink! Ok, it was a bit dark, but it was pink! It might kill anyone that consumed it, but it looked right! She did a tiny victory dance, before shoving the rest of the pots of ink back in her bag, and the empty pink pot. "Groovy..." She muttered, smirking and sitting back in her seat. She didn't think that anyone had seen her.

As Rori let the potion sit, the potion turned to a lime greenish color instead of the pinkish color it was supposed to have been. Rori frowned and looked back over the ingredients and directions. She stirred the potion again, but for some unknown reason, the potion was a pinkish color, but let off a lime green mist. "Uh, professor?" said Rori, "What in the world is the potion doing that?" she said pointing to her potion.
