Vincent glared at him. "The last time I believed someone had done something under the Imperius Curse, it was when Chet...Chip... whatever his name was... killed a boy in Hogsmeade. And it later turned out that he knew full well what he was doing, and he was a full-fledged Death Eater. This time, my fiance almost died in that attack, and she just found out that as a result of it, she can't have children. Now, you tell me... would you believe you if you were in my place?"

Tyler took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a moment, trying to calm himself down. "Look, I'm sorry about Emily. But since you've been with her for quite a while, you should understand how much different things can be versus what they really seem to be. Obviously, it's an iffy type of situation, but you've got to think it through completely. For Pete's sake, even Dumbledore believes that I'm telling the truth and I even attacked him. Maybe you are being rightfully cautious, but at some point you've got to let go of whatever grudge you've got against me." He sighed again, looking down at the ground for a moment. "I can't give you any solid evidence just yet...but you've got to give yourself a chance to believe me. You're clouding your judgment with the effect that all of this has had on your personal life. I mean, just from a personality evaluation- do I really seem like the kind of person who would do what you're accusing me of? I never even killed anyone during the few years when I actually was a death eater."

Vincent frowned. "Look, I don't know you, OK? And I don't really care to. Yeah, I believe that death eaters can change... after all, my fiance and my two best friends were death eaters once, too. And you're right... I should let the court decide whether you're guilty or innocent. But personally, I don't believe you. Dumbledore may believe you, and so might Cassidy here, but I don't. That's just my opinion." He walked closer to him and put his wand in his pocket. "So I'm not going to hex you." He stopped in front of Tyler and looked at him for a moment, and then he punched him in the face. "Hey, I said I wouldn't hex you, I didn't say I wouldn't hit you."

Cassidy gasped and ran over to Tyler's side. "Vincent!" she cried. "How could you? Tyler, are you all right?" She bent down and helped him up.

Tyler had immediately stumbled after Vincent had dealt him such a hard and unexpected blow to the face. Vincent had barely missed his nose, but still had given him quite a dark, black eye. He looked up as Cassidy helped him back up. The flesh right below his eye was throbbing in pain and the pain stung his eye as he blinked. Once he was back on his feet, he glared at Vincent. "I'm fine." He replied to Cassidy, quietly. He wanted nothing more than to go up to Vincent and have an all-out fist fight with him, but he realized that wouldn't solve anything at the moment. But he instead continued to glare at Vincent. "Get out of here! Go bother someone else with your ridiculous problems!" He yelled at him.

"Fine," Vincent said bluntly. "I got what I came for, anyway." He turned and stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind him.

"Wow," Cassidy said. "Can you believe that guy? It's like he's determined to hate you." She touched his eye lightly. "That's going to be a heck of a black eye. Do you want me to get you some ice or something?"

"Uh, yeah, actually. That'd be nice." Tyler nodded, his eye flickering oddly in reaction to the sharp, stinging pain that encased it every few moments. He frowned again. "I don't know what his deal is. He doesn't seem to want to even try to believe me." He walked over to the couch in the living room and sat down on it slowly. "Well, I guess you were right about him though. He came right in and pretty much tried to bash my face in. At least we got that out of the way for now. I don't know if I'll be seeing him for a little while. Well, I'm hoping anyways."

Cassidy conjured a bag of ice, then sat down next to him on the couch as she placed the bag over his eye. "I'm sorry... this may sting a bit," she said. "I can't believe he just came over here and punched you. Really, what a brute!" She shook her head. "I don't understand why he hates you so much. I mean, maybe it's just that he feels that he needs to blame someone for what happened to Emily... but Emily doesn't blame you. Why doesn't he concentrate on arresting Charles or Claudia, or finding that third death eater instead? They were the ones to blame... you were forced to do what you did."

Tyler grimaced when she placed the bag over his eye. "Thanks." He said simply, closing his eyes as the ice started to immediately help the pain go away. "I think you're probably right. He just needs someone to blame for all of this. Either that or he's just afraid of being wrong. He accused me of doing this all on my own accord and he's sticking by that no matter what." Tyler frowned and shook his head. "It doesn't matter though. I guess some people just have a tendency to be stubborn like that. We just need to get some evidence to finally prove that I have been telling the truth. After that, he'll have no choice but to believe me." He paused for a moment, grinning at her again. "I just don't know how you put up with him every day."

She smiled. "It's not so hard... he almost never comes in the office, and I spend most of the day there. So I hardly see him. It's much better that way, even though it usually means I don't have any assignments. It was a lucky thing for me that you came in when you did, because it meant that I finally had an assignment that was all mine. I really hope we can figure out who the third death eater was. I know Claudia Morley's never going to talk, and since Charles decided to lie to me, our only hope is the third death eater. Of course, you still have Dumbledore, who says he actually removed the curse from you... that's a big plus. But after this stupid article, I'm not sure it'll be enough."

Tyler frowned. "Yeah. I really am sorry about all of this nonsense with the article. I know it doesn't help for me to be causing more problems and even making you confused and angry in the process. I know you said it's not my fault and everything...but, I know there are a lot of things I could've done to prevent all of this and I just didn't. I'll find a way to make up for it though." He looked down, avoiding Cassidy's eyes for a few moments. He thought for a moment- trying to figure out if there was anything that could be done to eliminate this newly developed obstacle. "Do you happen to know anyone who works for the Daily Prophet? Maybe we could get a reasonable worker there to try and work things out or get Bambi to make a public apology. It may not have a very good chance of working, but maybe we could at least try?"

Cassidy thought about it for a minute. "I suppose I can try that. I don't know anyone there, but maybe my friend Evangeline does. I also was thinking maybe I'd stop by the summer camp thing and see if Dumbledore has any suggestions. Since he's already said he believes you, maybe he'd be willing to give me a little help in this. At the very least, it won't hurt." She lifted up the bag of ice to take a look at his eye. "Oh, yeah, it's starting to swell up pretty badly," she said. "Does it hurt?"

"Yeah, I just get a sharp pain every few seconds. And I have a bit of headache. But the ice makes it feel at least a little bit better." Tyler said, reaching up to gently feel his eye. "I think it'll be fine. It's just kind of sensitive right now. I think confronting Dumbledore would probably be an excellent decision right now. He usually seems to have some kind of answer or word of advice." He nodded in agreement. He looked around the room absent-mindedly. "You know, you don't have to stay here with me. I'm not meaning to keep you for too long. Well... I mean, you don't have to stay and take care of my eye if you don't really want to or if you have better things to do. Not that I don't appreciate it, but I just don't want to make you feel like you have to stay." He added sincerely, trying not to make himself sound stupid.

"Oh, no... I don't really mind. I should get going and start talking to some more people, but... well... I just want to make sure you're OK. You know, I can give you a potion that will reduce the swelling and ease some of the pain, if you want. I don't have it with me, of course, but I have some at my place, I could summon it here..." She put the bag of ice back over his eye, lightly brushing his temple with her hand as she did. Realizing how close she was to him, she blushed and pulled back a little bit.

"Uh...y-yeah, sure." Tyler said, distracted by the feeling of her hand gently skimming his forehead. Once she pulled back, he smiled and looked away awkwardly. "I mean....yeah, that would be good. That will probably make it feel a lot better. And if you want, I can make you some coffee or tea or something for you to take with you when you leave. Just in case you don't make it to Madam Puddifoot's or whatever?" He suggested. He felt bad that she was doing all this stuff for him while he didn't really know of any way to help her out.

"Um, yeah, some coffee would be great, actually," Cassidy said, smiling. "As long as it isn't any trouble, that is. Hold on, let me summon that potion." She walked over to the door and opened it, then said, "Accio potion!" In a minute, the potion came flying toward her and landed in her outstretched hand. She closed the door again and walked back to him. "OK, here you go," she said, handing it to him. "You can just take two spoonfuls of this and that should help."

"Great. Thanks." Tyler said, taking the potion and carrying it into the kitchen with him. He got a spoon out of his silverware drawer and slowly poured two spoonfuls of the potion into a cup. He then quickly drained the cup, trying to prevent the disgusting taste from lingering in his mouth. Afterwards, he poured some coffee from his muggle coffee pot into a small, plastic container for Cassidy and brought it to her. "OK. Here you go. Fresh and everything." He said, handing her the container and smiling. "So...um...I guess I'll see you soon then?" Tyler asked.

Cassidy took a sip of coffee and smiled. She really didn't want to leave, but she knew she had to. "Oh, um... yeah, of course. I really should get going. I guess I'll talk to you in a day or two and let you know how the investigation is going." She headed toward the door. "I hope the rest of your day goes better than the first part of it. And... I hope your eye feels better." She bit her lip to stop herself from babbling. "Goodbye, then." She opened the door and stepped out into the morning light. With one last shy smile, she turned and walked away.

"See you later." Tyler said with a smile. He waved to her as she left and then closed the front door before walking over to the couch and plopping back down feeling quite bored all of a sudden. It was a shame that he had nothing much to do without Cassidy, but it was only fair to admit that he could use the rest and the vacation from his usual constantly-on-the-move state for a little while. He laid his head down on the armrest of the couch and slowly drifted off to sleep.
