Tyler and Cassidy appeared in Hogsmeade, right in front of the Hog's Head with a loud Pop! He had to admit, side-along apparating wasn't quite as fun as apparating by himself, and also left him with a bit of a queasy feeling. "I live just up here behind a little ways." Tyler told Cassidy, motioning towards the street that led away from the Hog's Head and the shops surrounding it. "Its a short walk." He started walking in the direction of his house. "So how long have you been an auror? I've only been one for about a month now, but I don't think I've ever seen you before."

"OK," Cassidy said, following him. "Um, actually, I've been an Auror about a year now. But I mostly work out of the office, while everyone else works out of the Hog's Head. I barely see any of the other aurors, because no one ever comes into the office. I mean, I can't say I blame them, because the Minister puts a real cramp on what we're allowed to do and discuss in the office. Working out of the Hog's Head gives Vincent more control, and takes some away from the Minister. The minister gives me the creeps, you know?"

"Yeah, definitely. Although, I can't say I know him very well. I've only seen him once and that was during my first trial, when I was being tried for being a death eater. But still, the guy really gave me the chills." Tyler replied, continuing to walk. "So you know why I became an auror- to redeem myself. But what about you? Do you actually enjoy working in the office all the time or do you wish you were doing more hands-on type stuff with the job...like regular fieldwork and stuff? You seem fairly skilled with magic. Surely you could be doing something better with it than just filing paperwork?" He said, suddenly feeling curious about her. "No offense, of course."

Cassidy blushed. "Well, I became an Auror because... my brother was a Death Eater. And he was the favorite in the family. He was the hero, and my little sister was the baby, and I was... nothing. I swear, they didn't even see me. Even after my sister disappeared in her first year at Hogwarts, I was still practically invisible to them. My brother was the best in his class, best in quidditch, head boy, everything. But he became a Death Eater and was killed. And I decided... maybe they'd be proud of me if I was an auror. Stupid really, becoming an auror just to get noticed. Only it didn't work, because I'm still nothing to them. And I know I could do a really good job if given the chance... which... I guess I am, now. I've always wanted to work in the field, do the hard stuff. I even did really good in my one practice mission. But since then, I've been stuck behind the desk and forgotten about." She glanced up at him shyly, realizing she'd just shared a lot of very personal information.

Tyler frowned, "I'm sorry about that." He said, sympathetically. "Perhaps if you do really well with my case, they'll see how good you really are with this stuff and maybe give you more opportunities." He looked down at the ground as he walked. "And I'm sorry about your brother too. I've never had a sibling die, but both of my parents died about two years ago. They were in the wrong place at the wrong time and were mistaken for death eaters who had recently killed four Order members. When no one could prove them innocent, they were sent to Azkaban. And then that's where they died, three months later." He reflected, remembering getting a visit from a ministry employee who broke the news to him. "That's why I became a death eater. I wanted revenge on the Ministry for making such a fatal mistake. And then it was only until my first killing mission that I realized I didn't have the guts to kill people who I was supposed to be siding with. After that, I just didn't know what to do. I knew the rest of the death eaters would be out looking for me- a traitor to their evil group. And I knew that the Ministry would throw me in Azkaban." He said, frowning again. "And then that's when Dumbledore showed up and saved me. He's about the only person in this world that I still feel I can whole-heartedly trust." Tyler finished, practically revealing his whole life story.

"Oh, that's so awful!" Cassidy gasped. "I'm so sorry. It's unbelievable that the Ministry would make such a terrible mistake. And... I promise you, I'll make sure they don't make a mistake like that with you. What happened wasn't your fault, and you're not going to prison if I have anything to say about it." She was surprised at the strength of her conviction. She felt a surprising rush of confidence. She could do this... she had to. He was depending on her. "Dumbledore is an incredible man, isn't he? It's almost impossible not to admire him and be in awe of him. He was the one that encouraged me to be an Auror. The... other reason I wanted to be an auror was so I could find out what happened to my little sister. She was right there at school when she just... vanished. When I have free time at work, I go through case reports and try to figure out what might have happened to her. So far, I haven't had much luck."

"It seems that both are families are unusually prone to tragedy then." Tyler added. He thought for a moment. "I'll tell you what. I'll make you a deal. If you help me get out of this mess and I can resume working as an auror, I'll help you find your little sister and figure out what happened to her." He suggested, smiling at her. "How does that sound?"

Cassidy smiled. "I think it's a deal," she said. "I think the fact that you have Dumbledore on your side is a very big plus in your favor. Very few people can argue with Dumbledore. If he says he removed the curse himself, I think that carries a lot of weight. Do you remember anything about the Death Eaters that did this to you? You said Claudia Morley was one, right? Do you remember the other two at all? If not their names, maybe descriptions?"

"Yes, Claudia was definitely one of them. I remember her specifically from before she put the imperius curse on me." Tyler confirmed, trying to think hard about who the other two were. "I'm sure that the other two were men. And I suppose there's no ruling out that one of them could be Charles. He could've gone looking for me after the duel in the alleyway. The other guy...I'd never seen him before then- not even when I was previously a death eater. All I can remember is that he had black hair and seemed fairly tall." He said. He looked up at their surroundings and pointed out a small house just about four houses away. "I'm right up here." He added.

"Charles... Charles Mortensen? The former quidditch player, right? Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's a Death Eater. Interesting about the other one... I'll have to do some digging about him." She looked over to where he was pointing. "Oh, you're just about a block away from me. I'm down there... the next block over. It's a little blue house. That's nice, then... you know where to go if you need me." She flushed slightly at the idea of him needing her. "Now, I'll have to come in and put a restriction on your floo... you'll only be able to go places in Hogsmeade, and to the Ministry. Anything else will need to be approved in writing ahead of time." She smiled as they reached his house. "It's a nice place..." she said.

"Eh...I suppose its OK." Tyler shrugged. "I'm actually not here a whole lot- or haven't been in the past few months anyway- but it fulfills its purpose." He said, smiling lightly. "It'll be nice to know someone in the neighborhood at least." He walked up to the front door and opened it, walking in. "You can just come on in and set the restriction and everything. I'll make you something to drink if you want? Unless you want to get back to work soon, that is."

She followed him in and looked around. "Oh, no, a drink would be nice, thank you," Cassidy replied. "It's not like I have anything to get back to, except someone else's paperwork. And certainly no one is going to notice that I'm gone." She walked over to the fireplace. "This will only take a minute."

"OK, sure." Tyler said. "I'll be right back with some tea." He added, disappearing into the small kitchen. A few moments later, he returned with two glasses of tea and set them up on the table in front of the fireplace. He took a seat on the couch and took a sip of his tea and waited for her to finish with the floo restriction.

Cassidy stood in front of the fireplace, murmuring an incantation slowly, as she waved her wand around in a wide circle. There was a flash of light, and she quickly threw in a handful of floo powder. There was a puff of green smoke, and it disappeared. "OK, it's done," she said. "As I said, you can go anywhere in Hogsmeade, and you can go to the Ministry, but that's it. Anywhere else, you'll need written permission." She shook her head. "It just seems so wrong. But again, it's better than Azkaban. Not much... but a little. At least instead of dementors, you get me. I, uh... hope that's a good thing," she added with a little laugh as she walked over and sat down next to him.

Tyler chuckled a little bit, "Yes, definitely much better than dementors." He replied, grinning slightly. "Seriously though, you're being a really great help." He said, assuring her. "And I know you can do this. Just don't put yourself down so much." He suggested, looking at her sympathetically.

Cassidy smiled shyly. "Well, thanks. I've always had a little trouble with my confidence... it comes from having a brother who everyone thought was perfect, while I was always awkward and overdoing my spells. But I was told I got some of the highest possible grades on my auror tests. I've just never had a chance to put myself to the test. I'm really sorry you don't have someone more experienced to help you out... but I'm going to do my best." She took a sip of tea. "It's a shame you're going to have to do everything without magic for a while... Can you cook? Cooking the muggle way is so hard."

"Well, actually- come to think of it- no, not really." Tyler said, frowning at the sudden realization. "That might be a problem- especially since I can't really go into the town or anything either very much." He thought about it for a minute and then came up with something, "Perhaps if I had a house elf? Unless you had any other ideas..."

"Well, you can go into the town a little, although, you probably don't want to do it much after dark, in case the ones that did this to you come after you. I can check into house elves for you, if you want, I'm pretty sure there's no rule against that. Oh, but if you like... maybe I could help you out once in a while. I'm a pretty good cook, actually. My mother always said that was the only thing I was good for." She frowned at the memory.

"Yeah, that'd be great too." Tyler nodded. "But I don't want to work you to death or anything. Especially while you're working on my case too at the same time." He said. "Oh, and do you think that maybe sometime soon you could take me to see Emily Alchemia? I just feel like I should probably apologize to her and I don't really know where she lives or anything and I figured its too far to walk."

"Oh, sure, I can do that," Cassidy said. "I think she and Vincent both live nearby, too, actually. I'm not exactly sure where, but I think they're close. I can find out for you, though. I don't know how long it will be before she goes back to work at the Hog's Head. Right now, she's at St. Mungo's." She took another sip of tea. "Do you remember any of the attack at all?"
