Remus looked up, then abruptly ran towards her and tagged her on the shoulder. "Taggis!" he yelled, laughing. Then he turned and ran away again.

"That was mean! I thought you were really hurt!" Kris said crossing her arms and not moving. She had really been worried that he was hurt real bad.

"Yeah, I guess so." Kris said as they walked to the door she got a feeling that something was going to bad happen to the family. To try to get her mind off it she asked, "How can you keep the secret from your friends? It's going to be hard for me to keep mine from Sirius... I really hate that I'm going to lie and act like nothing is wrong all year."

Remus sighed. "It is hard," he admitted. "I almost told them so many times. But I don't know how they'll react. I'd like to believe they'd understand, but I don't know. I've seen it happen before. We had to leave the first hoiuse where we lived not long after I was bitten, because the rumors and the attacks on our house were just too bad. I know it's going to be hard to keep it from Sirius, but he's better off not knowing." He got to the door and held it open for her.

"It really is hard... being what we are," Remus said. "So many people don't understand what it's really like, or that most of us aren't out to hurt people. If it got out what we are... we'd be outcasts. It's not fair... the bad ones like Greyback ruin it for the rest of us."

Remus frowned. "Dean? I don't know. He was a jerk to me and James, that's for sure. I never even knew him before camp... I don't think he ever had anything to do with us. But at camp, he was a jerk. I hope being a werewolf will make him nicer, but I kinda doubt it. I don't think he's gonna fit in so well around here."
