"Me, too," Remus replied, frowning. "But even if that is what happened, he still didn't tell me about you. He made me believe we were all alone, just me and him. And he still kept you away from us, even when Mom died. It's not fair that you didn't get to say goodbye." He thought for a second. "You know... she's buried in the cemetary here in town. Do you think maybe you'd like to go and visit her grave?"

"Maybe we can ask Zander or someone if we could go right now, while we're waiting to see if Dad is gonna answer us back," Remus said. "I don't think we'd better go alone. Come on," he said, taking her hand. "Let's go."

Remus led her into the house and began looking around for someone. He found Zander sitting in one of the bedrooms, looking upset about something. "Um, hey, Zander?" he asked. "I want to bring Kris to our mom's grave. Do you think we need to bring someone with us or something?"

Zander looked up from the letters that were spread out in front of him. "Um, yeah, you guys can go. But you shouldn't go alone. I need to talk to Pearl and Chloe for a while, so see if Karl or Skye can take you. And be careful at the cemetary. I think there's a rival pack that likes to hang out there sometimes, OK?"

Remus nodded. "Yeah, OK. Thanks. We'll be careful." He looked back at Kris. "Come on," he said. "Let's see who we can find." He had a feeling that Zander was worried about something, and he didn't want to intrude. He also wondered if the rival pack was Greyback's. The last thing he needed was to run into him today.

Kris nodded. "Alright." She smiled slightly. She also wondered if the rival pack was Greyback's, she really didn't need him to confuse her anymore. She hated that he had made her what she is, she also hated that she couldn't remember what happens on a full moon.

Remus gave her hand a quick squeeze, then let go of her as he led her down the hallway in search of one of the other pack members. He was just thinking that he hoped he would run into Karl first, because Karl would be more able to protect them if they ran into Greyback, when he saw someone round the corner ahead of them.

Skye smiled as she saw the two children walking towards her. "Hello, Remus, Kris. What is going on?" She noticed that Remus looked very focused, as if he had something he wanted to do, and Kris seemed to be deep in thought. "Is everything OK?"

"Hey, Skye," Remus said. He hesitated for a second. Skye was nice and everything, but he wasn't sure she woould be able to protect them if Greyback came along. "Um, do you maybe know where Karl is? Kris and I wanted to go to the cemetary to visit our mom's grave, but Zander said we shouldn't go alone."

"Karl is sitting with Dawn," Skye replied. "We found her in the forest and she collapsed in front of us. She seems to like Karl, so he wants to stay with her. She has strange fits, and I think it scares him a little. But I could take you, if you want. I go to the cemetary a lot, actually. It is peaceful there." She looked past him to Kris. "Is that OK? You look a little worried about something."

"Zander said a rival pack likes to hang out there and I'm afraid that it might be Greybacks. He's got me confused enough as it is, I don't need him to make it worse." Kris said clenching her fists and staring at the floor, she didn't want to run into him. "And I'm not sure if I could stop myself from trying to kill him for what he did to my family." She knew he would kill her before she could even make one hit but she didn't care.

Skye listened to her sympathetically, then shook her head. "Fenrir does not hang out in the cemetary. He prefers darker places. The cemetary is too open and bright for him. I think it is Dawn's pack who hangs around the cemetary-- Dawn is the girl we found in the forest. She is separated from her pack, and she is staying with us because she is ill. But that pack is a problem, too. They have Ashura prisoner. They probably wouldn't mind having a few more members of our pack as well. So it is important that we not let on who we are, and keep our distance from strangers, OK? If we do that, we should be fine."

Remus looked from Skye to Kris and back again. He was worried about what Kris had said... would she really try to kill Greyback? "Well, if you're sure that Greyback doesn't hang out there, I guess it should be OK," he said. He looked back at Kris. "Do you still want to go?"

"Yes." Kris said looking at the floor trying to remember what her mother looked like. The only image that came to her was the woman that raised her. Why couldn't she remember her? She glared at the floor clenching her fists her feelings to her father beginning to turn to anger.

Remus glanced over at her and saw the look on her face. She seemed hurt and angry at the same time, and he could imagine how she felt. He'd felt the same way ever since he'd found out about her. He reached over and put his arms around her. "It's going to be OK," he said. "I'm not sure how, but it will. I know you're angry. I am, too. But look at it this way, at least now we have each other."

Remus felt his eyes filling with tears. "I'm sorry," he said. "I won't forgive him, either, you know. What he did... it messed things up for both of us." He reached into his robe pocket and took something out of it. "I have a picture of mom, if you want to see it. She looked a little like you."
