"Well, Skye and Chloe are growing vegetables in the garden, so we'll have food for everyone in the pack," Zander explained. He stodd up and patted the girl on the shoulder. "I think you have a lot to think about, and I'm just going to leave you to it. I have to see what I can do about rescuing Ashura. Are you going to be OK?"

Kris ran to Remus and hugged him. "I wouldn't have." She whispered as she fought back tears. She would have felt horrible if their father got rid of him. Remus sniffled as a tear streaked down his cheek. "And I feel the same way about you," he said. "Dad was wrong to do what he did, to split up the family. By splitting us up, he put us all in danger. We would have been stronger if we'd stayed together." |

"I know. But you also have to know why you can't just go off by yourself to find him. If you really want to go, maybe we can get a pack member to take us on the Knight Bus or something, so that we're not alone." He pulled back and looked seriously at her. "Also, I'm afraid that whatever Dad says, you aren't going to like the answers."

Zander left Coda and wandered into the kitchen, still in deep thought. He wondered whether Pearl was able to get through to Dean. Somehow, he had a bad feeling about the new pup. He wished again that he had been able to stop himself from biting the boy.
Zander smiled at Karl, Skye, and Dawn, who were still in the kitchen, as he helped himself to some eggs. Then he sat down at the table with his plate and began to eat, realizing suddenly that he was very hungry.
Glancing across the table, Zander looked at Dawn. The girl seemed awkward and shy, much like Skye. But there was something in her eyes that hinted of a past tragedy. He wondered what the girl had seen, and what had caused the strange spells and memory loss that Chloe had described. He decided that he would contact Madam Pomfrey later, to see if she could take a look at the girl.
Zander finished his eggs a little too quickly and, without another word, he slipped back out of the kitchen and headed for the room he shared with Pearl. Sitting down at the desk, he took out a piece of paper and began to write...

"Alright." Kris thought about what to put in the letter. Remus walked into the house with Kris and began to look around for the others. He could see that Karl was in the kitchen, talking to a girl he didn't recognize. Skye was nearby, sitting cross-legged on the floor, as she preferred, eating a plate of eggs. Suddenly Remus realized that he was hungry. But he wanted to get the paper first for Kris's sake. So he wandered through the house, looking for someone else. In one room, he saw a small blonde girl that he also didn't recognize. Remus wondered what was going on. Tentatively, he called out, "Chloe?" |

Chloe heard her name and appeared from her room. She stepped out and walked up to Remus. "Hey Remus," she said giving him a smile. "Did you have a good night last night?"
