Karl carried Dawn all the way back to Chloe's house, with Chloe, Skye, and Coda following behind him. He laid the girl down on the bed and covered her up with a blanket. "I sure hope Pearl and Zander get back soon. They'll know what to do."

"Yeah, I hope so," said Skye. "I guess we should start working on breakfast for now, though. Oh, Coda, did you want me to try and see if I can fix you something better to wear? I have a few of my old dresses from when I was smaller. I might be able to alter one of them to fit you."

"I'll go ahead and go start breakfast," said Chloe. She left the bedroom, heading for the kitchen, still wondering what exactly made Dawn blackout. She pulled out three frying pans for bacon, eggs, and sausage. After putting them on the stove, she started searching the refrigerator for the food and began to cook them.

Coda nodded at Skye's question. "Yes, please, this is a little too tight for my taste." She looked at the floor wondering if they noticed she hadn't came back. 'Probably not' she thought bitterly.

Skye smiled. "OK, come with me," she said. She led Coda into a small room off in the corner of the house. There were boxes stacked in a corner of the room, and Skye walked over and began to rummage through the boxes. "When you are like us, you cannot afford to throw anything away that might be of use later," she explained. She dug around before she finally produced a small blue dress. "Here we go," she said. "Why don't you try this one on and see how it fits?"

Coda nodded as she took the dress. She took off the clothes she had on then slipped the dress on, it barely touched the floor. "It's really nice, thank you." She said barely above a whisper.

"It's very close," Skye said, smiling approvingly. "I just need to take up the hem a little bit, and the sleeves. But otherwise, the fit is pretty good. Come here and I'll pin the hem, so I can adjust it."

Coda walked over to Skye trying not to trip over the dress. "I still don't know what I am going to do, I know how Goss is... he'll do anything to hurt me..." She fell silent not wanting to think about it.

Skye took out a few pins and began to pin the hemline so the dress just barely skimmed Coda's ankles. "That looks about right," she said. She did the same with the sleeves. "Well, you must make the decision on your own," she said wisely. "If you stay here, we can protect you. They would not dare invade an entire werewolf pack. But I am sure the humans can set up magical protections for you. It is up to you. Do not think of the possibilty of attack. Think of what will make you happy. If we must, we could go and kill the wolf that threatens you."

"I will have to think on all this." Coda said, she liked being with Alastor but with being a werewolf she might end up attacking him and his family. For the first time she wished she hadn't became a werewolf.

"I'm sure you will make the right decision," Skye said, putting her hand on Coda's shoulder. "Now, why don't you change back into your old dress while I work the hem on this one? I'm pretty fast, so it shouldn't take long. You can see how Chloe's doing in the kitchen."

Coda carefully pulled the blue dress off then put the old dress on. She smiled at Skye then walked out of the room and slowly made her way to the kitchen.

Skye smiled back at Coda, but watched her go worriedly. She knew the girl was in a difficult position, and she didn't envy her the decision she had to make. Then she turned back to the dress and began to work on the hem.

Chloe turned around to see Coda enter the kitchen. "Hey Coda," she said with a smile. "Care to help me just a bit?"

"Do you know how to break open eggs," asked Chloe. "If you don't, I'll show you how, and if you do, I'll still show you how. Come on over to the counter, I don't bite," she said giving her a smile. Chloe grabbed a bowl and put it in front of Coda. "Okay," she said. "You break the egg like this." She hit the egg on the side of the bowl, so it would cause a crack, and then she pulled it open. "That's all there is to it. Just make sure none of the shell gets in the bowl. If you could, you could go ahead and finish opening those eggs, while I'll cook the ones already done."

"I've never had anything cooked until I met Alastar, I really don't like it that much." Coda said quietly as she broke an egg like Chloe showed her. "Every once in a while they would bring something out of humans... um... trashbins I think they're called, but most times I would eat what they did. It took me a while to like it." She felt torn once more, talking about them like this didn't help.

"You shouldn't eat that kind of food," said Chloe. "The better kind is the stuff that they fixed for you. By the way you're doing a pretty good job." Chloe gave her another smile and finished scrambling the eggs that she had in the pan. She sensed that Coda didn't really like talking about her other family. "So, Coda, how is the plan sound that we go and buy you a few new clothing items, like shoes. When it starts to get colder, you know that you'll need more."

Coda nodded not really knowing what to say, she was with a pack of wolves what else was she suppose to eat? It wasn't like she knew how to make fire.

"We'll do that some time soon," said Chloe. As Coda finished up with the eggs, she quickly poured them into the pan and started to scramble them. After they were finished, she grabbed plates out of the cabinet and placed them on the counter. She stepped into the living room and called out, "Breakfast is ready!"
