Tyler walked along near the front of the nightclub in a dark shadowy area where he wouldn't be seen. He was keeping an eye on anyone that went in. He closely watched for Jake to enter at anytime, he had been wanting to have a word with him. He had seen some very interesting people go into the club, from people who were obviously vampires, to raddy and scratched up guys who had to be werewolves. He had also seen some good-looking girls and had to fight the temptation to go inside, get a drink, and meet a few of them. He continued to tell himself that he was there for business, not leisure.

Charles was in a fierce mood as he headed to the club. He was planning to get as drunk as possible. He passed by a dark alley on the way to the entrance, when he caught a bit of movement. Thinking it might be the vampire whose girlfriend he'd been dancing with, he decided to check it out. "Who's there?" he said, stepping into the alley.

Tyler, startled by the voice, jumped a bit. He instantly recognized it to be that of one of the Death Eaters he used to work with. He controlled himself and slowly backed up in the alleyway away from the man, covering his mouth so that he wouldn't make any noise. But he had been paying too much attention to the man and not his surroundings. He backed up into a trash bin and sent it falling flat on the ground, making a large rattling noise.

Hearing the sound, Charles stepped closer to the trash bins with his wand drawn. He now doubted it was the vampire, since vampires normally didn't hide, but he wanted to see who it was. As he got closer, he pointed his wand at the trash bins and levitated them up out of his way. He saw a familiar-looking figure standing there. "Oh, hello, don't I know you from somewhere?" he said in a falsely charming voice.

Tyler gulped. He quickly backed up and pulled his wand out of his pocket, pointing it at the Death Eater and glaring at him. He glanced behind him, looking for a way out. The alleyway was too long though. If he decided to run, the man would have an easy straight shot at him. "What do you want?" He asked, sharply.

"Oh, I didn't want anything at first, just to see who was lurking in the alleyway. See, I've got a bit of a problem with a vampire. But you aren't 'im." Charles tilted his head and looked at him. "Wait a minute, didn't you used to work for the Dark Lord?" A slow grin spread across his face. "Yeah, I know you... Tyler, right? You know what happens to deserters, don't you?"

Tyler continued glaring at him, "I'll kill you before you touch me." He replied, simply. "Then you can see how Voldemort likes you...killed by the "weakling" who betrayed you group of raiding, evil bastards." He had a feeling that the intimidation wouldn't exactly send him running, but he was buying some time to figure out a plan. He knew this wasn't going to go too well.

"Well, that's a nice threat," Charles said, "only problem is, I don't bloody care if you kill me. And if you did, I doubt I'd be in much of a position to care what Voldemort says about me, would I? I'd be dead." Charles advanced a little closer. "But if I killed you, think of the favor I'd gain with his Lordship. Either way, I rather like the odds." He grinned. "Tell you what. We'll have a duel, fair and square. The old rules apply."

Tyler looked at Charles, contemplating his options. "Fine." He said coldly, figuring that he wasn't in much of a position to bargain. "I hope you don't take losing too harshly." He replied, almost grinning.

Charles laughed. "Oh, do you really think you'll win, then?" he said. "I was quite a championship dueler in my days at Durmstrang. Only one person ever beat me.... although I have to admit, she made me enjoy losing..." he grinned slightly at the memory of the duel he'd had with Isabella.
Quickly forcing thoughts of her out of his mind, he narrowed his eyes at Tyler. "All right, then. Thirty paces away." He didn't trust Tyler not to fire a shot while his back was turned, so he backed up thirty paces. "Remember, no Unforgivables... at least not until the duel ends..."

Tyler backed up as thirty steps as well and then replied, "Fine by me." He put his wand at the ready and contemplated what spells he could use. He waited for Charles to get ready and say go.

Charles stood there for a long moment, waiting. "All right, then, on three," he said. "One... Two... Three!" He pointed his wand at Tyler and shouted, "Tarantallegra!"

Tyler, was only half-ready for the curse to be thrown at him so soon. "Protego!" He called out, only a little too late. The spell half hit him and only his left leg went crazy as if it was dancing to a wild beat. He pointed his wand at the man and shot a trip jinx at him, hoping to buy some time to set his leg right.

Charles tried to dodge the trip jinx, but because of the wild movements of Tyler's leg, the direction of the spell was hard to predict. It hit him head-on, and he fell over. While still on the ground, he pointed his wand at Tyler and shouted, "Expelliarmus!"

Once Tyler had finally recovered, the next spell had hit him head on and sent him backwards a little bit, tripping over the fallen trash bin and sending his wand flying. He got up off of the ground as quick as possible and raced back over to where his wand now lay. He dove and landed close enough to pick it up. Tyler pointed it at the man once again and said, "Relashio!" Unfortunately, in his determination to pick the wand up as quick as possible, he had turned to the Death Eater too quickly and had shot the spell several feet off course.

The spell missed Charles easily. He didn't even have to move. He felt that Jackson was weakening, but he wasn't ready to finish him just yet. He rather enjoyed the game. So he pointed his wand at Tyler's head. "Engorgio!" he shouted.

Still on the ground, Tyler hurriedly rolled over on the ground to dodge the curse. He stood up and took aim at one of the trash bins, "Wingardium Leviosa!" He said, levitating the bin and throwing it towards the man to gain some time.

Charles dodged the trash bin, but it struck him anyway, knocking him backwards. "Oof!" he gasped, climbed out from underneath the bin. He stood up again and aimed at Tyler. "Sectumsempra!" he yelled. He was no longer in the mood to play games.

Tyler had just gotten up from dodging the last spell and hadn't seen the most recent one coming. He was hit square in the chest and immediately blood spurted out. He doubled over in pain, almost ready to pass out. His vision was blurry and he couldn't hear. But he still lifted his wand and pointed it at the man, "S-st-stupefy!" He stuttered, feeling even more dizzy. He knew he couldn't give up no matter what....

Charles was so busy watching the spurting blood that he didn't see the spell coming his way. He tried to dodge it, but the stunning spell struck him on the arm and he fell backwards again, frozen for the time being.
