Tyler was breathing faster as he continued to rapidly loose more and more blood. He was on the edge of unconsciousness and knew he couldn't fight it off too much longer. But he would have to silence the man if he planned on coming out of this duel alive. He took his wand and held it limply in his hand. "Ava-" He stopped for a moment, trying to channel all of his anger and hope into the curse, "Avada Kedavra!"
((Obviously, it'll miss...))

Charles was still stunned and was helpless to defend against the killing curse. Luckily for him, however, Tyler's aim was off, and the spell instead struck a wandering rat, and the creature fell down, dead. Slowly, Charles began to move again. He attempted to stand, but his legs were still weak, and the act of standing triggered his vertigo. Dizziness came over him in waves and he collapsed back onto the pavement.
((OOC: Can I bring Claudia in here to pretend to help you?))

Once he saw the blurred figure of Charles collapse, Tyler rolled over on the ground in pain and exhaustion. He slowly lost unconsciousness as his mind "faded" away and within moments, he was out of it.
((Yep, of course. And then he'll wake up or something and plead for his life later.))

Claudia had been watching the duel from the entrance to the alleyway. She had recognized them both--Charles from the other day at the Headquarters, and Tyler she had met a few years ago when he had been a Death Eater with her. When they both had collapsed, she walked into the alleyway and over to Charles first. Once she had determined he was fine, she went over and checked on Tyler. He was still bleeding, so she took out her wand and tapped the injury to stop the bleeding. Then she checked him over quickly. Once she was sure he had no other lasting injuries, she decided to levitate him up and lead him back to her apartment in the Three Broomsticks, which she kept in addition to her large house in London. She wasn't quite sure what she was going to do with her former colleague, but she had a feeling she could get a bit more out of him than Charles. She smiled to herself at the thought. Hearing Charles moan and begin to stir from the other end of the alley, she quickly guided Tyler's floating body out of the alleyway.
((Want me to start a new thread in the Three Broomsticks?))

Charles regained consciousness after a few minutes. He groaned as he slowly pulled himself up. He hadn't had a vertigo attack in a while... it was odd it should hit just then. He thought for a minute, trying to remember what had happened. Then it hit him: the duel! He jumped to his feet and ran over to where he had last seen Tyler. He saw a pool of blood, indicating that he had been there, but there was no sign of him. "Damn it all," he hissed, "he got away!" Furious, he stalked out of the alleyway and headed toward the club. What he needed now was a good, stiff drink.
