Vincent and Voltaire brought Emily to St. Mungo's, because it was closer to the Order headquarters than Hogwarts. Still leaning heavily on his cane, he ran up to the front desk. "Hello? Can you help us? My fiancee has been badly hurt... she took a powerfull Stunner right to her chest and fell backwards... I'm afraid she might have broken her neck. Please.... you have to help her..." He was practically beside himself with panic.

At that moment, a healer, who was walking through the lobby, stopped. "Broken neck?" he said. He rushed over to where Emily was and took a quick look at her. "Quick. You'd better bring her inside right away. Non-magical emergencies, down that hall, first door on your left. I'll be right in." He looked at Vincent and Voltaire. "Oh, I'm Dr. Collins. You can call me Tristan." He gave them both a quick smile before he dashed off.

"OK, great," Vincent said. "Thanks Doctor." He hurried down the hall that Tristan had indicated and led Voltaire, who was still carrying Emily, to the Non-Magical Emergencies room.

Tristan quickly finished checking on his other patient in the non-magical injuries recovery room, then hurried back in to the emergency room, where Vincent and Voltaire were sitting with Emily. He quickly bent down and examined Emily. Using his wand to scan for damage, he checked her head and neck for injuries, then pulled up and looked at Vincent. "Well, first off, she's got a concussion. She also does have a severe neck injury, although fortunately, her neck isn't broken. She's just sprained it, which means that the muscles in her neck have been strained and twisted. I can fix it, but I'm worried about the head injury. I think she has some internal bleeding. Are you her husband?"

"Um, close," Vincent said. "We're engaged. What can you do for her? Is she going to be OK?" He walked over and clutched her hand worriedly.

Tristan patted Vincent's shoulder reassuringly. "I have a few things I can give to her, and I may need to do a minor surgery--it's a much easier procedure for wizards than for muggles. I'll take very good care of her, I promise. She'll be fine. Do you mind stepping outside for a while so I can work on her? I'll get a few nurses to help me out, but this really shouldn't take long at all. Probably no more than half an hour."

"Yeah, OK," Vincent said, sighing heavily. He leaned in and kissed Emily's temple, then slowly walked out of the room, looking back several times before he went. Out in the waiting area, he sat down on a bench, clutching his cane almost convulsively.

Tristan called out for a few nearby nurses and assistants, who all came running. He briefly explained what was going on, and then they began quickly working on Emily. One of the nurses set up a tube and inserted it into her arm so she could take a potion through her bloodstream, while another prepared the necessary potion. Tristan, meanwhile, set up her neck in a stabilizing bandage so it could heal from the sprain. Finally, they all began to examine the head injury. Using the power of their wands they were able to scan the inside of her head, and Tristan found that the injury was not as bad as he had feared. She wouldn't need a surgery. So they finished up a little more cleaning up, and then the team headed off to work on another patient.
Tristan stood back, crossing his arms over his chest and smiling to himself. He had done good work, as always. Of course he could easily head out and tell the fiance that she was going to be fine, but he preferred to make them wait a little bit. Just so they'd get a little worried. He had to admit, he liked when they worried.

Voltaire placed a hand on Vincent's shoulder. "E-emily will b-be a-alright, If you c-came out of your in-injuries alright, She will too." he said still stuttering badly.

"Thanks," Vincent said numbly. He looked up at Voltaire. "Dude, you seem pretty shaken up. Are you OK?"

"J-just scared me, D-dumbledore...a-attacked l-like t-that." Stuttered Voltaire trying to explain his stutter. His memories startled him...how could of he forgotten that? the terror? the pain? how? he felt ashamed that he couldn't remember such a thing at all.

"Yeah, it was scary... But Dumbledore's all right. It would take more than that to hurt him. Are you sure you didn't get hurt? That woman... Claudia... she could have killed you. If the other Death Eaters hadn't stopped her... You just froze and I was too far away." He shuddered. "I just can't believe... Emily..." He shook his head.

"I-it was just too much..." Said Voltaire miserably. All the duels he'd had, the battles...all of it was a waste because seeing Dumbledore hit caused so much wretched weakness... now he couldn't get his tongue to unstick, miserable, that's what he was.

Vincent patted Voltaire on the arm. "Maybe you should go contact Isabella. Let her know you're all right. It'll probably do you good to hear her voice."

Emily stirred a little and opened her eyes. First off, she noticed that she wasn't at Hogwarts, so she didn't have any idea where she was. Then, Emily noticed some man standing over her. "Who are you?" she asked. "And where am I? And where's Vincent?" Emily didn't like knowing where she was, and she had to admit, it sort of scared her.

Tristan smiled. "Ah, you're awake," he greeted her. "You're at St. Mungo's. My name is Dr. Tristan Collins. This, uh... Vincent... is that your fiance?"

Emily nodded. "Yes he is," said Emily. "Where is he?" she asked again.

"Oh, he's right outside. I needed some space so I could fix you up. I'll just go get him for you," Tristan replied. He gave her another smile, then turned on his heels and walked out of the room. Secretly he was a bit disappointed she'd woke up so soon, but he wasn't going to let anyone see that. Instead he fixed a bright, friendly smile on his face and approached Vincent and Voltaire. "Good news," he said. "She's awake and she's asking for you. You should go in and see her now."

"Really," Vincent gasped, jumping to his feet. But his legs were still weak, and he immediately sank down onto the bench again. "Ugh... this stupid injury," he mumbled. "Listen, Voltaire, why don't you go see if you can contact Isabella on the Floo network? I think there's a pubic floo down the hall. Or if you want, you can just go back home to her... I think maybe you need to be with her right now." He stood up more slowly, leaning against his cane, and then followed the doctor into the room where Emily was.

Emily smiled at Vincent whenever he came in. "Hey," she said with a smile. "What else happened? You know, after the hit. No one else didn't get hurt did they?" asked Emily.
