Pearl and Skye were still sitting at the three broom sticks waiting for Zander to perhaps show up. Pearl was fairly certain he would. She looked at Skye and asked "Have there been many new pups? Has anyone else made a pup?" she was worried that more pups would be made and that no one would be there to teach them different than to hunt, kill, or turn humans. She grew more and more uncomfortable with the idea as she spent more time with Zander.

Skye was still looking around nervously, noticing that a man was sitting in the corner watching her intently. He had something in his mouth that was glowing slightly and smoke seemed to be coming out of it. She didn't like the smell of the smoke; it made her cough. When Pearl talked to her, she turned away from the man and looked at her friend. "Oh, no, I haven't seen any new pups. No one since the one that Zander made... L.J. She comes around sometimes, and I saw her talking to the snake man. I don't like her much, I think she enjoys the taste of blood too much."

Zander walked down the stairs from the room he shared with Pearl. As he entered the bar, he immediately detected her scent and went straight toward her. He noticed to his surprise that she was sitting with another girl. The pretty, petite brunette looked vaguely familiar to him, but she seemed to be scared of her own shadow. She was staring around the place like she'd never been in a bar before. Zander decided to approach carefully. He walked around so that he would come to the table just next to Pearl, but facing the other girl, so she wouldn't be caught unaware. Walking up beside Pearl, he said, "Hey, Pearl, what's going on?"

"Zander!" said Pearl happily standing just so out of her seat to give him a quick peck on his lips and then sitting back down to introduce her companion, "Zander, this is Skye! she's been with the 'family for about half as long as I have! she helped me with new..pups." she said carefully, knowing that Zander didn't care for being termed or anyone calling a new werewolf a pup.

Zander sat down next to Pearl and smiled at Skye. "Hi," he greeted her. "I think I remember you from when I was with the pack... you were the quiet one, right?"

Skye nodded at him. "Hi, Zander," she said. Something about his presence soothed her. She could feel as Pearl did, that he was a leader. Here, in this place, he was definitely in his element, unlike when he'd been in the pack. "Pearl tells me that you are trying to help the pack members who don't wish to follow the snake man. I don't like him and what he is doing to the pack. Everything is fractured and there is frustration and bitterness and despair. I need to be away from it."

"I was thinking that maybe she could help us with the repairs to Chloe's home and can help with others that don't want to be part of Voldeemort." said Pearl leaning toward Zander. "And maybe you could Help most of pack become associated with the way Humans are" she whispered not wanting to be over heard by a human.

"Well, I can clean. I'm usually the one who cleans up after the messes that the pack members make," Skye said. "I'm afraid I'm not good at a whole lot else, but I can try."

Zander smiled. "Well, that will definitely help. The place is a mess, and although we may need to do some rebuilding, the cleaning will definitely have to be done first. Hey, do you need anything to eat or drink?"

"Yes, the more hands we have, the easier the work will be. Yes, are you hungry Skye?" she asked reaching her hand across the table to hold her hand. She had missed her friend dearly.

"Don't think of it as leaving, think of it as joining a new one. That way you are never alone." said Pearl smiling. "Leaving the pack for me was a very...quick disision...but not for a second do I regret it, I was Unhappy with that den...and with how Fenrir started to treat me...I also don't believe that he would of stopped and return to the way I had always known him." said Pearl her face shifting a little toward sadness, then she brightened and added "But Zander makes me feel at peace again."

"Oh no, most of these people smell nicer than he does too!" said Pearl completely oblivious that what she just said could be misconstrued. She smiled and sat up straighter. "Most everything smells nicer than he does!"

Skey was also completely oblivious to any alternate meanings. "That's true. Except I don't much like the smell of the man in the corner. He's been drinking far too much. He smells like he bathed in liquor."

"He still smells better...At least he smells like he could at least come clean..." said Pearl frowning at the thought of the Snake man's smell. "He reeks of everything foul." she said wrinkling her nose.

Pearl opened her mouth to answer, but in truth she could only guess, "maybe it's half a witch or wizard...maybe they are tiny." she said really not knowing what it could mean. If a wizard mated with a non magical person. would they make tiny people? or would the child be half as magical? she really couldn't decide which was the best answer.

"No, see, some wizards and witches think that people who are born to non-magical parents or have one magical parent and one non magical parent are... less than people who come from all magical families. It's completely wrong, of course. Some of the best wizards and witches have no one magical in their family. They're called Muggle-borns. Voldemort would call them something else, something ugly. He'd call them mudbloods." Zander frowned. "In a way, though, we would all be considered half-breeds, because we are half-wolf. I don't understand why Greyback would think joining with Voldemort would be good, when he clearly has no respect for us. He just wants to use us for our powers. That isn't right."
