Stupid, big thorn

[Alastor Domino]

Alastor walked up to the Hospital Wing with Natalie by his side.

"Nurse." He called sitting down on one of the beds.

[Natalie St. Clare]

((I'll RP as the nurse. Why can't we ever have a nurse??))

Madam Pomfrey walked in and saw them sitting there. "Oh, my... What happened?"

Natalie frowned. "He was in him Animagus form and we were playing ball and he stepped on a thorn. Now it's stuck in his hand."

Madam Pomfrey leaned in to examine the thorn, touching it gently. "Does this hurt?"

[Alastor Domino]

"Yah." He said gritting his teeth. "I think it might be lodged into my wrist bone."

[Natalie St. Clare]

"Oh, dear," said Madam Pomfrey. She ran her wand over his arm for a minute, and the bone became visible. "Yes, it is in there pretty good. I'll be right back." she stepped out of the room.

"I'm sorry, Uncle," said Natalie.

[Alastor Domino]

"It's okay, Natalie." Alastor said. "It's not your fault."

[Natalie St. Clare]

"But... I should have seen it," she said.

[Alastor Domino]

"No really, it's not your fault." Alastor said.

[Natalie St. Clare]

"It's just... when you see things before they happen, you want to try and stop everything bad from happening," Natalie said. "I hate it, I wish it would stop."

[Alastor Domino]

"So you saw that happening?" He asked.

[Natalie St. Clare]

"No, I didn't," she said. "But shouldn't I have seen it? Why do I see somethings and not others? And why can't I stop the bad things from happening? I told Mum what was going to happen and she didn't believe me. I also see our neighbor, Mrs. Applegate, who watches me when Daddy's at work, dying in a fire. I always have to turn off her stove for her and put out her candles when I'm over there, but for all I know, she could be dying right now, because I'm not there to turn off the stove! I guess... I guess this thorn is a little thing, but it just bothers me that I can't stop the bad things from happening, whether I see them or not!"

[Alastor Domino]

"Just don't worry about it, it's out of your control. Now where did that nurse get to?" He said.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie sighed. "OK, Uncle," she said, but she still looked troubled.

Madam Pomfrey came back in, carrying a potion. "Here," she said. "Drink this. This will temporarily numb you, so I can remove the thorn without pain. Otherwise, it's going to hurt pretty badly."

[Alastor Domino]

"Ok." Alastor said taking the potion. It tasted horrible but he took it anyways. Immediately his whole body went numb.

[Natalie St. Clare]

"OK," said Madam Pomfrey. She ran her wand over the spot where the thorn was, muttering an incantation. Slowly the thorn began to loosen, until finally it popped out. She picked it out and levitated it over to the trash can. Blood began to seep from out of the wound, and she quickly tapped his arm with her wand, stopping the flow and healing the vein. "OK, now the numbing potion should only last about 10 minutes. When it wears off, I'll give you another potion to heal the hole in your bone. You should rest here for a while. I'll be back in a few minutes." She walked out.

[Alastor Domino]

"Ok." He said again. "Natalie, you can go ahead to Hogsmeade."

[Natalie St. Clare]

"Are you sure?" Natalie asked.
