''That's true.'' Ashley said, ''My cousin is a muggle and she thinks it's really weird how we use magic.'' She said, and continued, ''I've been amazed all these years how she lives and it's completely different to how we live, we think of magic as an everyday use, it makes things easier for us, but with muggles they have to do things by hand like washing the dishes.''

"And sometimes they make machines that do the work for them. It's amazing how many different gadgets they have. For a while, when I was an Unspeakable, I started out studying how muggle gadgets work."

''That's cool.'' Ashley said, ''Yeah, I've read about these machines called 'Washing Machines' and they put clothes in them, and put some sort of powder in them and then they press a button and the machine washes the clothes for them.'' She said, ''I think that is amazing, they are so talented.''

"Yes, I've seen them. Very clever indeed. Have you ever seen a toaster? They put in bread and push a button, and when it's done, it just pops up! Fascinating device..." Wesley chuckled.

''No, I've never seen one of those.'' Ashley said, ''But I've heard of one.'' She said.

"Oh, they're very amusing," Wesley said. "I don't know how they don't just play with these things all day long. I'd have more toast than I would know what to do with..."

Ashley giggled, ''Me too.'' She said, ''They also have these things where they press a button a some music comes out of nowhere.''

"Sort of like our Wizard Wireless Network," Wesley said. "It's all very interesting. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun teaching that class. Ancient Runes is, well... it's not nearly as much fun..." he laughed. "But I've always been very interested in studying things like that."

Ashley laughed, ''Well Ancient Runes is kinda fun, learning about all the things which have been buried for years!'' She said, ''I'm sure they'll enjoy it.''

"That's true. That's what always interested me," he agreed. "But sometimes the kids don't really understand it. I've never taught before, so hopefully, I'll be good at it."

''I'm sure you will be good.'' Ashley said smiling, ''I've never taught before, but when I realised there was a job opening for Muggle Studies here, I just had to take it.'' She added, ''I remember my days here, things haven't changed much.''

"It's not all that different from when I was here... and it's been a long time," Wesley said, suddenly feeling old. "My daughter Natalie is starting this year. I wonder what house she'll be in."

Ashley smiled, ''Aww...'' She said, ''Well I hope she's in Ravenclaw, that's the house I was in.'' She added.

"Mine, too," said Wesley, "And Sa... her sister..." He closed his mouth, feeling very sad again. "My wife was in Gryffindor, though," he said, quickly changing the subject. "I guess it doesn't matter, as long as she's happy and doing well."

Enid walked into the Great Hall and sat down. She wasn't one for idle chatter, so she nodded at the others sitting at the table, and began to wait patiently for the students to arrive.

Joseph finally arrived at Hogwarts, thinking he was slightly late, but when he walked into the Great Hall, he noticed the students hadn't arrived yet and he just saw a few teachers. He gave a nod to the people who were talking, not wanting to interrupt their conversation, and headed to a seat at the table.

Athena walked into the Great Hall. Alastor was sick, and so she had got permission from Dumbledore to substitute for him. She hoped she wouldn't have to do it for very long. She was worried about Alastor. She gave Wesley a smile as she sat down.

Ashley noticed Wesley stopped after saying a bit of one word, she took this into consideration and didn't mention anything, ''Yeah I don't mind Gryffindor either.'' She said.

Elle stumbled into the room, she waited, looked around and then grinned. Nothing had changed. She saw Dumbledore, Lucie, her uncle Wesley and some other teachers up at the teachers table. She ran over to the table and said, ''Hey, Lucie, Hey Uncle Wesley.'' She said and turned towards Dumbledore, smiled then nodded. ''Professor.''
