Christian grinned at her as if he knew everything there was to know and simply dangled little bits out for her to nibble on like a fish on a pole. "Oh, we've talked plenty." They hadn't. Their conversations, when they weren't ribbing each other for the other's personality quirks, centered mostly on Silas or the final board member. There was some talk of Diana, especially when Roselyn instigated it, but nothing as alluring as what Christian had remembered witnessing of Diana taking out three men in under a minute wearing nothing more than black lace and straps that did Merlin only knew what.

Diana laughed. She knew what Christian was doing. His attempt to distract her from her pacing and grander worries over Silas were working. She was grateful. She moved to where he was sitting and straddled his legs.
She put her arms around his neck, "I'm sorry I took them away Christian." she said brushing her fingertips across his temple. She had never apologized for her actions, regardless of why she had done such a thing, whether it was to protect herself, or to punish him. She was sorry for it.

The haughty look he wore only increased as she straddled him. He put his arms around her waist and from there they just happened to slip until her was firmly grasping her buttocks and looking thoroughly pleased with what he found. She had a perfect body, especially when she charmed the belly away though even with it visible you'd be hard pressed to find a more attractive woman.
She apologized and he kissed her. He pulled her closer to him, scooting her forward on his lap and running a hand through her hair. When their kiss ended he looked seriously at her. "I don't think we've enough time for my list of apologies." There were too many to count and most he didn't want to remind her of.

Diana only smirked and leaned in for another kiss when she heard Derek clear his throat behind them.
"Don't let me interrupt." he said clearly amused, but also on edge.
"Later." she winked before standing and facing Derek.
"Tell me you have news."
"I have news. It's not the best." he said on a sigh. "I found him."
"That's not bad news." Diana said tentatively.
"He's not alone."

The man had a habit of showing up whenever he damn well pleased and for Christian who was very much a businessman as much as he was a gangster and a killer, it bothered him. Not to mention he was potentially ruining another round of naked time with Diana. But Christian couldn't really be upset as his appearance meant that he had found Silas.
"Who's with him? Other Death Eaters?" The Dark Lord probably wouldn't appreciate it if his top hit wizard slaughtered a decent portion of his rank and file followers, no matter how expendable he considered them to be.

"Worse." Derek said looking straight at Christian. It wouldn't take Christian long to realize who Derek was talking about.
Diana looked between them, uncomfortable with the way Derek was showing concern. They had squared off against many opponents together before and she had never seen that look on his face.

Christian initially scoffed at Derek's claims that Silas' buddies were worse than Death Eaters until he saw the look in the man's eye and Christian went white. "Was it sanctioned?" he asked quickly, his tone a cross between anxious and furious. Had Christian done something wrong in the summer he couldn't remember that would lead the Dark Lord to exact revenge? Was the massive attack on Christian's home by order of Lord Voldemort himself?

As much as Diana didn't like it when Derek looked concerned, she just about had a heart attack when Christian lost the color in his cheeks. Whatever or whoever Derek was talking about was terrifying indeed.
"Was what sanctioned? Who's with Silas? What the bloody hell is going on?!" Diana asked as the fear settled in. Christian was damn near unflappable when it came to business, this was new. This was unsettling.
"No." Derek said shaking his head, "It wasn't sanctioned. He heard about the attack and Silas is facing his wrath right now, but..." Derek said with some hesitation.
"He wants to see you." he looked at Diana then and revealed, "Both of you."

Christian closed his eyes and exhaled a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. There was a rush of relief as Derek explained that Silas had acted alone. The color slowly returned to his cheeks only for it all to leave him again.
"What? No! Absolutely not! Why the f*ck does he need to see her? No!"

Derek rolled his eyes at Christian's reaction. He felt the same way, but he realized how futile it was, "I agree, but do you want to tell him that?" he asked sensibly.
"Who is 'him'?" Diana asked. It obviously wasn't Silas that had Christian this upset, Diana was curious.
Derek looked at her, then at Christian. He'd let the other man explain that one.
"He's someone who you don't want to piss off. And you don't want to keep waiting." Derek said looking at Christian squarely.

Christian looked at Derek but Derek wasn't going to be the one to explain it to Diana. Damn him. He pursed his lips and gritted his teeth before turning to face Diana. "Ever hear of the Knights of Walpurgis?" Christian had joined when that was the name given to what was now better known as the Death Eaters.

"Vaguely." she said still confused, "Your mother mentioned it. That and Death eaters. Which didn't make any sense. What is a death eater? How do you eat death?" she closed her eyes and shook her head, "What's the bottom line here?"
There were too many questions, too deep a history, and they were running out of time.
She turned to Derek, "Can I handle this?" she asked. Derek knew her better than Christian did, longer anyway. He had a better grasp on what she was capable of, and apparently they didn't have time to waste.
Derek sighed, "He's the most powerful man I've ever met Diana. One of the smartest too."
She thought about it for a moment. She looked between them both, then as if coming to a decision she nodded, "Then we'd better not keep him waiting."

If the situation hadn't been so grave he might have laughed at Diana's question. The group had earned the name after rumors started spreading that the Knights of Walpurgis were creates similar to Dementors, but instead of souls they fed on death itself. They left nothing in their wake and Christian had assisted in that powerful claim to fame.
Diana's gung-ho attitude did nothing to ease the knot that was twisting inside Christian's stomach. His mind raced to figure out why Lord Voldemort would summon Diana. He didn't like it.
Christian grabbed Diana by the arm before they made to leave. He pulled her to face him. "Don't mention Alyx or the baby. If he knows about them, he'll say so. And keep your mind clear." If Diana had been concerned about Christian's ability to see into her mind, it was nothing compared to the Dark Lord's skills.
He wanted to tell her he loved her, instead he said, "ready?" and held her by the waist. He nodded severely to Derek before they apparated to the secret headquarters where the Death Eaters would meet.
