Their fiery passion had destroyed the room and perhaps it also destroyed a small part of Christian with it. He wasn't himself with Diana. He was volatile and dangerous as ever, but there was something else. The connection he had with her transcended logic. Diana was a variable that he couldn't plan for but the man needed to be in charge. She pulled at him in every direction.
They were entangled on the bed again, but this time it was not their subconscious selves coming together in sleep. They were both well aware of their bodies and more importantly they were aware of each other's bodies. Diana was perfect, even with her pregnant stomach.

He would never get that with a hooker, Diana was confident of that at least. Their passion was one of a kind. Of course she had nothing to compare it to, but such a feeling couldn't be commonplace. She didn't think she could achieve the same heights as she had with Christian, she had neither the will nor desire to find out.
Her stomach growled interrupting their post coital bliss. She sighed. Liam was always hungry it seemed. Suddenly the idea of being served breakfast in bed was vastly appealing, though she had probably lost that card to play having assisted Christian in destroying the room. She sat up and stretched her arms over her head without the slightest hint of modesty. There was a scar on her back where the bullet had entered, and a larger one just under her breast where the bullet had exited. It was still angry and purple, but mostly healed.
Without a word she rose from the bed to put new clothes on.

Christian watched her approvingly as she stretched and walked about the room. He gave a lazy smile as the sight of her perfectly shaped ass. "Where the f*ck do you think you're going?" he asked her playfully as he folded his arms under his head and rested against the headboard.

She grinned at him over her shoulder, "There's no round two if I don't eat something." she teased before shimmying into another pair of stretch pants to accommodate her expanding stomach. She also grabbed another shirt, this time a plain black one in case Christian had any ideas.
She sauntered happily back to the bed a smile playing on her lips. She gave him a long lingering kiss, then trailed her lips down his chest with a teasing expression in her eyes. She smirked knowing the power she held over him as a woman. She relished in that power for a moment, before winking and turning on her heel to leave.

He grinned as her kisses trailed down his chest but when she pulled away he looked at her. "You're trouble, aren't you Crawford?" he said in a tone that conveyed how naughty she was being.
He relented and got out of bed, looking around the room until he found his clothes. He pulled his pants on, then his shirt. He watched Diana as he dressed and only realized halfway through that he'd buttoned his shirt incorrectly and had to start all over again.

She almost corrected him, telling him that she was a Ward now. But she didn't push her luck. Maybe she would never get the 'other' Christian back, but that didn't mean there wasn't hope. He cared for her. She knew he cared for her, and whether it was in a dream or in reality that Christian confessed his love, she was determined to have it again.
She waited for him politely, and snickered when he misbuttoned his shirt and walked toward him to assist, brushing his hands out of the way. Her own nimble fingers teased his skin and efficiently buttoned his shirt, though she would have preferred to unbutton it. Food first. Round two later.
She smiled at him, "Think you can handle it?" she asked in reference to his 'trouble' comment.

"Absof*ckinglutely." He grabbed the back of her head and kissed her again before they left the room in search of food. He hoped there would be some of the breakfast he had made left, but undoubtedly it would be cold by now. He wouldn't mind making something else.
It wasn't until he stepped over the threshold into the kitchen that he remembered his mother was staying with them. And just his luck, she was still sitting at the dinning table, now talking to Burke.

Diana only blushed a little when she entered the dining room. They hadn't been quiet at all as they tore apart the room and one another, and Kaden's house had thin walls. It was probably very clear to the others what Diana and Christian had been up to.
And yet the scene was so ridiculously congenial Diana wanted to laugh.
Derek was pouring Roselyn more tea and had a charming grin on his face while she was telling him a story about Christian when he was younger. Diana desperately wanted to hear that story.
She took a seat where her plate from earlier was still sitting. It was still warm courtesy of Derek.

"We saved you both some food," Roselyn said as they appeared in the kitchen. She was pleased to see that they had made up.
Roselyn was great with warming and reheating spells. So many of their meals when he had been younger were leftovers. Especially when his father was out of town on business and Roselyn had spent the day fawning over Christian to compensate for the worrying over her husband that she refused to let young Christian see. They would run around doing almost anything he wanted and by the time he was hungry it was too late to cook. Reheated leftovers it was. Sometimes her cooking actually tasted better the next day, but still not great.
Christian sat across from Diana and piled the remainders of each item onto his plate. He was starved having worked up an appetite so vigorously.

She was quiet while eating, she really enjoyed Christian's cooking as did Liam. She was just thinking how satisfying everything was when everything shifted.
Instead of eating at the dining table with Christian, Derek and Roselyn, she was back at the hospital. She was wearing a white robe and pajamas. Her hair was done in a limp braid over her shoulder. Her eyes were sunken in showing the deep sickness she had. She was at the cafeteria. She sat alone, but she could see the other tables, other patrons with varying degrees of psychosis. Diana's heart sped up as she stood and looked around the room.
"Miss Crawford, is everything alright?" a nurse, Emma, asked her.
"No...where am I? What the bloody hell is going on?!"
"Miss Crawford it's alright, you're at St. Anne's. Everything's fine." the nurse approached.
Diana backed away with a dangerous look in her eye, "Don't come near me!"
"I think it's working." another voice said beside her.
Diana turned to look at the man still skittish as a newborn colt, until she saw the doctor.
"Doctor Hanley...?"
It was Doctor Hanley, down to the crooked glasses.
"No Diana. It's me, Doctor Westin. There is no Doctor Hanley. Diana listen to me, we might not have much time. Everything you think is real is a lie. There are no Board Members after you. You've suffered a psychotic break, we haven't been able to reach you until now. I don't know how much time we have with you as it is, but it is of vital importance that you do not believe anything you see in your dream. It's not real. Diana? Diana..."
"Diana..." Derek said again, she snapped her attention to the man.
"Welcome back." he teased.
"Back? Where did I go?" she looked genuinely confused and she looked between the three of them.

"Leave her be," Roselyn said gently to Derek. "She creating my grandson, she deserves a moment in her head once in a while."
Christian was in a good mood after his romp with Diana. Upon witnessing Roselyn's gentle hand with Derek, Christian snorted. "If I had done that," he said, pointing his fork at Derek and referencing teasing Diana about zoning out, "she'd have slapped me and called me ungrateful." He chuckled as he shoved a piece of pancake into his mouth.
Roselyn smacked him on the shoulder. "Well some boys are more polite than others," she said in her naturally scolding fashion when it came to her son. "And after all your...how did you put it dear? Hookers and scotch?" She looked to Diana for confirmation then back to Christian. "Well, I think a slap and a little harsh truth might be good for you."
Christian's head fell backwards and he groaned as his mother repeated the same line Diana had used earlier. "I am a grown man, if I want to have a drink I'll bloody well have a drink. And for the twelfth time," he said, turning to Diana. "I don't f*ck hookers!"

Diana's memory was perfectly in tact, the hookers and scotch comment had been a nasty comment she made to Christian in the past, just after she found out that he could and did sleep with other women. He assured her that once he got the bounty on her head he would be 'rolling' in hookers and scotch. Diana remembered, because Diana was jealous, and hurt that he would even say such a thing, even if they were trying to hurt one another at the time.
She gave him a small even smile, "Just strippers then." she said baiting him.
Derek went pale.

She was lucky, or possibly unlucky, that his mother was sitting beside him at the time. Christian had many things pounding about in his head that he could say in response, all of which would be followed immediately by taking her on the dining table.
Instead, his expression mirrored her's as he threw Burke under the Knight Bus. "When a mate buys you an evening with a stripper, it's bad form to not accept." He tilted his head in Derek's direction, referencing the stag night Burke had treated Christian too upon finding out that Diana and he had married. Christian didn't remember the evening, but Burke had told him about it. Of course, Christian then wiped Burke's memories of the conversation.
Roselyn pursed her lips and held her cup of tea with both hands.

Diana was in too good a mood to get upset, instead she grinned at Christian, "So you two are mates now?" she teased, "There was a time when you couldn't stand one another." she took a sip of her tea.
"You mean yesterday?" Derek added lightly.
Diana didn't know what this was. This early morning teasing and easiness. She hadn't felt it in a long while, but it felt so very good. Her eyes sparkled, there was color in her cheeks, she was fresh and sharp. She didn't realize it, and she would be horrified to find out, but so much of her health depended on her husband's love. When she had it she could conquer anything with a smile on her face, when she didn't she merely survived through the turmoil.
She was giving Christian a warm look unconsciously as he ate. She watched the way his hands moved, the way his mouth moved. She felt her body responding to his movements. It really had been too long for them.
Derek was not as oblivious as Diana seemed to be about her desires. He turned to Roselyn, "Roselyn, my dear, I feel just terrible that you were uprooted so quickly from your home. Would you care to accompany me? I've been meaning to pick up a gift for my niece. Perhaps a bit of shopping would appeal to you, and if you wouldn't mind assisting me in finding something a young girl might like."

"You mean yesterday?" Derek added lightly. "She means today," he replied with a soft chuckle before turning back to his food.
Roselyn was conflicted, as any mother would be. The look in her daughter-in-law's eyes said she loved Christian, and the gentle teasing at the table made her happy that her son had settled down even if they were technically in hiding. But having heard the fighting, the glass shattering, and the...other sounds, coming from the bedroom earlier, Roselyn didn't know how healthy this relationship was for her son. She knew he had a temper and she could see that Diana both brought it out and quelled it equally. It was hard for any mother to ever truly let go.
She smiled cheerily at Derek. "Oh, that sounds lovely, yes. And perhaps we'll pick up something for the baby."

Roselyn wasn't wrong. They were so volatile with one another. They both had great passion and they brought it out of one another, but passion like that could burn too hot and wound too deeply if they weren't careful, and neither Diana nore Christian were particularly patient. Neither wanted to give up control. Was it a healthy relationship? Not in the least. Did they love one another? Too much. They were mad with love, and healthy or not they were too deep to let go.
Derek smiled and nodded.
Roselyn would soon have a grandson to spoil and a grand daughter if any of them had anything to say about it.

Christian was modest enough to wait until the front door shut before knocking the dishes to the floor and pulling Diana up onto the table. It had been so long; not just with Diana but with anyone. Christian wasn't accustomed to such long periods of leisure. Whether it was purely his attraction to the woman he had married or whether it was the life bond that connected them, Christian burned for Diana. He needed to have her.

Several hours later Diana was well and truly spent. She was also exhausted, and the house was torn apart.
She lifted her head to survey the damage, "We owe Kingston a new lamp. And I sincerely hope that vase didn't hold any sentimental value." she laughed.

Christian gave an amused smile at the inventory of items that would need to be replaced. His head rested on the arm of the sofa, one hand tucked behind his head and the other draped lazily over Diana's bare body as she laid on top of him. "I suppose we should at least get dressed before Derek and my mother return. I can't imagine this is a sight they'd fancy seeing. Although I'm very much enjoying the view."

She laughed. They had tried getting dressed, Diana had to bend over to pick her shirt up and that started a whole different marathon. Still she was surprised Derek and Roselyn hadn't returned yet.
She sighed and laid her head on his chest, "I don't think I can move."
