Diana was full of love at the moment, she couldn't contain herself. When he kissed her it was a perfect outlet and she let herself get swept away giving into her feelings.
He didn't know, she didn't know how to tell him and she wasn't sure it was in her to tell him. She loved him for years. Even when they were younger and in school Diana loved him. That love had changed and grew over the years to what it was now and it thrilled her, but sometimes she didn't believe it was possible or true.
In the afterglow of their exertions Diana was exhausted. She was tracing imaginary patterns on his chest.
Suddenly she leaned on her elbow over him, "There's no one else I'd rather spend my life with."

They were slowly turning into one of those sappy couples in love stories. Christian didn't mind the moments in isolation, separated by their version of normal, but too many moments back to back made him feel wonky. He often eased the discomfort by teasing her or turning the moment into something more carnal. He still felt all of the sappy emotions, but he professed his love for her in other ways that better fit his harsh demeanor.
"Good, because my hit list is already rather long. I'd hate to have to add another name." He grinned at her and pulled her close to his chest. She was warm against him.

Diana didn't mind the sappy, but she didn't trust it either. Happiness could be an illusion, something that easily broke a person when it inevitably disappeared. Diana was awash in hormones and gave herself a pass. She prayed she'd be strong enough to handle the bumps ahead, but she also trusted Christian to be on her side.
She let him pull her to him like a rag doll, exhaling on a contented sigh.
Suddenly she sat up, "Christian, we have to tell your mother I'm pregnant!" she said urgently. It had been shocking to learn that Christian still had a living parent as Diana had assumed otherwise.
"...And that we're married...and about Alyx..." Diana looked at him, "How's she going to take all that?"

Christian's eyes widened as Diana jumped up suddenly, thinking something was wrong with the baby. When he realized it was just his mother that was worrying her, he laughed relieved. "You'll give my poor mother a heart attack if we just throw it all out at once. It's not the easiest situation to come to terms with."
"Let's keep quiet about the children for a bit longer but if you want to meet her, she does want to meet you." Christian's last dinner with his mother was just before their cruise. Roselyn had been the one to convince Christian to give Diana the vacation she needed, and it was then that he confessed his feelings for Diana to his mother. She would be shocked enough to find they'd gotten married in the few weeks since. He didn't need to add that she was also a grandmother for the past 16 years.

"I don't want to give her a heart attack." Diana agreed but the worry was still in her eyes. They had so many things to do before they could simply relax and be a family, still so many hurdles to jump. But Diana was a woman, and like most women she worried about her mother in law's approval.
Her pulse sped up as she chewed on her inner lip, " She wants to meet me?"
Merciful Merlin what did she have to offer another woman's son. Could a woman ever be good enough for a mother's son? Diana was broken and neurotic and so full of issues and baggage it was amazing she could stand up straight.

"It's to be expected. When you tell your mum you love a girl, she inevitably will want to meet her."
He looked at Diana, trying to find the right words to explain that he had told his mother about Diana and Alyx without compromising their secrecy and safety. That was important to Diana so it had been important to Christian as well.
"When I saw her a few weeks ago, you came up. She knows you have a daughter. I've told her Alyx was kidnapped and we're trying to get her back. But my mother doesn't know that Alyx is mine."

Diana was silent still ruminating on the idea of meeting Christian's mother. She was surprised when Christian said that he told his mother about his feelings for her, further surprised that he told her about Alyx.
She was silent for a long time, then finally she asked, "Do you think she'll like me?"

Judging by the lack of hysterics and throwing of breakable items, Diana was surprised but not angry that he had shared somethings about her with his mother. They were variations of the truth, but he had still expected a little backlash. But sitting in his bed now was not the edgy Diana, it was the soft Diana. And her next question made Christian laugh.
He sat up to meet her gaze. "Maybe we don't tell her about you tying me up and interrogating me. Attempted torture probably wouldn't look too good." He smiled as he teased her but seeing the sincerity in her face he added, "she'll love you because I love you."

Diana raised a brow, that was a two way street, she smirked, "I seem to recall you enjoying a bit of that."
Her insecurities were melting away as he reassured her. She almost felt silly for having them.
Diana was worried about Christian's mother knowing about Alyx, because it put her at risk, both Christian's mother and Alyx. But she had come to trust Christian enough to trust his judgement, if he thought it was safe for his mother to know, then maybe it was.

"Did I? Hmm... I don't seem to remember that. Perhaps you need to jog my memory," he teased her. He pushed her back onto the bed and forced her hands above her head. He gave her a smug look, a challenge. Their passions had been more tender since the discovery of Diana's pregnancy. Christian enjoyed it all, but the wild passion of when they first rekindled their affair was extremely satisfying.

If he had wanted angry passionate sex he picked the wrong night. Diana was exhausted, and Christian had surprised her with pretty jewelry, she was feeling far more submissive than usual. But she recognized the sudden flare of interest in his eyes, and as her arms were stretched above her head she seemed to pick up the tempo as well as the mood on instinct.
Using a familiar wrestling tactic she hooked her legs around him and switched their position. The ropes were around his wrists within the next moment and she smirked as she straddled him.
"I know you're getting old, but memory loss? Already?" she teased him.

"Maybe you followed through with your threats after all," he replied, referencing her initial plan to wipe his memory of his knowledge of Alyx. It seemed like almost a lifetime ago that they had been at each other's throats, each following their own plan and coming into conflict. It was strange to think it had only been a few months and they were such different people together.

"I'd never do such a thing." she grinned at him. Never say never.
"Shhh, no more talking." she said spending the next few hours 'jogging' his memory. By the end of it however she was at the end of her limits, she fell asleep before she could say anything.
