Dorian shook his head at her as the corner of his mouth curled upward. He wouldn't admit that she was right, simply out of spite, but he could at least admit to himself that Lex had his best interests at heart.
"What's all that?" he asked, looking at the pile of papers she had carried in with her.

She sighed, "Well I suppose that's my homework now." he laughed at the double edged sword. Dorian needed to talk to Christine, and because she cared about her brother and her friend she would take on the extra responsibility of their dark wizard case.
"We've got a few leads, nothing serious, but a few students who might fit the profile. I'll go over all of it tonight and fill you in on the details tomorrow."

"Sure, you get all the fun tasks," he said darkly. "Should we meet for breakfast and exchange the gruesome details?" Dorian didn't want to be alone with his thoughts for too long. Seeing Christine and being the harbinger of doom in one night would be more than enough to eat at him throughout the night. It was times like this that Dorian wished he had someone to share his life with, just so he wouldn't be alone when he needed it.

"Sure." she said, "I don't have a life, not til we break this case anyway. Call me when you're good." she said using a look that spoke more than words. Basically when Christine was okay with him leaving then Dorian had permission to call Lex.
It was ironic to her how well both of her brothers paralleled each other. That neither would directly ask her to be there for them, but how both desperately needed someone to be there for them. Lex would give her all for her family, she could only hope that they would both understand when all was said and done.

Dorian thanked her and helped her carry the pile to her office, taking advantage of the delay it caused in seeing Christine. But he couldn't put it off for long. He needed to get ahead of the media and rumors that would start to swirl. News like this traveled fast. He took a slow, deep breath and disapparated for Christine's home.
