"F*ck, Diana. I know! I want to get to her, too. But I want us in one piece when we find her, otherwise we won't be of much use to her. Running around like a jobberknoll with it's head cut off isn't going to help. I've got men looking for Copperbottom, and I'm not going to let anyone harm you. I think I've established I can handle the situation. Now, relax for f*ck's sake."

"I can't!" she yelled back at him throwing the glass against the wall.
She turned away from him again, afraid of the intensity behind her emotions. "I can't relax Christian." Her heart was pounding once again.
"You just can't come in here and take this away from me." she closed her eyes as the words came out wrong, " Getting her back is the only thing I've thought about for two years. I've barely slept, fed on revenge, and relied on hate to get me through it. I've fought hit wizards, I've lost friends, I've cut off every soft thing in my life. I run into you two weeks ago, and somehow you've managed to find two of the board members and kill another."
She took a deep breath at her own feelings of inadequacy, " You've made this so easy. You and your men, finding board members, vowing to protect me...I can't do that. I can't let you come in and save the day. Save me. Being broken is the only way I've survived this long."
She turned and looked at him hard, " I want you. I want you and everything you're promising. It's a f*cking dream come true, but the second I believe in it. The second I let go and relax, it's over. Somewhere down the line I won't see the attack coming because you've made me weak again." she confessed.
"I'll take your help Christian, I'll let you find them. I'll let you kill them. I'll take it all, because it gets me closer to Alyx. But don't ask me to relax. Don't ask me to stop. Because I will. I want to. I'll let my guard down. I'll let you pick up the torch, and I won't see it coming."

"Bloody hell!" He ducked out of the way as shards of glass rained over his shoulder. He was standing now, towering over her.
Christian was not a cruel man. He was hard, and made difficult choices. He did things that normal people could never do. Would never consider. But he wasn't an evil person. He could be a good father, given the opportunity. He had thought on it daily since Diana told him about Alyx. He could be her dad because he knew he could stop if she needed that of him. He could let someone else dole out punishments and make the deals. Christian could be very happy working behind the scenes, if that was what Alyx needed.
If that was what Diana needed.
"You will never be weak, Diana. You will always be...this. Fury and passion and a hell of a lot of trust issues. You'll be a devoted mother who will spew hellfire on anyone who dares to harm her child. But you will never be weak."
He took a step closer and leaned toward her, speaking in a lower voice. "But I'm going to the bar. I'm going to celebrate that there is one less man after your head, that we have the locations of three more. Don't relax. But don't waste my bloody alcohol." He smacked her ass as he walked past her toward the door.

She spun around when he spanked her and watched him head for the door. She felt as though a weight had been lifted from her shoulders. Christian had responded in the way that only he could have responded. And as usual it left her speechless.
She let him go to the bar, while she stayed in the room almost stubbornly. She sent a message to Derek about Sanchez and The Pleasure Club, then realized that there really was nothing left for her to do. Derek had to track down Sanchez for her and Christian knew the location of the other two men. She'd have to talk to Christian to get their locations and after the scene she just made she doubted he'd tell her.
She sighed and went to her bags. She had packed for a fun weekend, but something had changed from the time she packed to this moment. She was afraid, and she had a sinking suspicion as to why and who was responsible.
With a final sigh she used a spell to hang their clothing. She dressed in one of her usual alluring dresses and made her way to the bar having reconciled herself to the situation.

Christian sat in the bar at a corner table. He'd had several drinks already and was attempting to continue celebrating alone, but the drunken blonde in a tight red dress that barely covered her ass wouldn't leave him alone. She hung on him and touched his arm in what she thought was a seductive manner. But her eagerness and the smell of gin that overwhelmed her was a turnoff. Christian picked up her hands and shoved them back into her own lap for fifth time, finally sneering at her as he told her off. She harrumphed at him and stood up, with great effort, and staggered toward the exit. As she passed Diana she stopped long enough to sway several steps to the left and give a word of caution. "Don't bother with that one. Apparently he's got a girlfriend." The blonde pointed to several empty chairs before her finger finally landed on Christian, swayed to another empty chair, then back to Christian again. The drunk headed for the exit again, muttering about how "it's not cheating if you're on vacation," and "the stupid idiot ought to know that."

Diana saw him immediately in the bar, she also saw the blonde. Something twisted inside of Diana's gut and it tasted very bitter. The old Diana would have been devastated, she probably wouldn't have stuck around to see Christian remove the blonde's eager hands or tell her off, and that would have been a shame. Diana was mightily amused now. She thought about "rescuing" him, but the blonde seemed to be giving up finally.
When the girl reached Diana she had to step back a step to avoid the overwhelming smell of alcohol. But it was her words that startled Diana. Girlfriend. Was that what Diana was? She felt a decidedly girly flip in her stomach, but quickly banished the feeling. She was not a child anymore. The old Diana cared about labels for what they were, but now Diana simply knew that for however long they belonged to each other. That could change tomorrow, but for now he wanted her and she wanted him. She didn't want to deny herself anymore.
She made her way to his table from behind, "Hiya stranger." she purred.

Christian heard the approaching footsteps and took a long drink from his glass, assuming the blonde was back for more. But upon hearing Diana's sultry purr he smirked. "I expected to have to wait much longer than this," he said in a slightly cocky manner.
He turned around to see her and she was worth the effort. Hell in high heels. "I'll buy you a drink if you promise not to throw it at me," he offered, raising his eyebrows at her.

She rolled her eyes at his expected wait time and almost threatened to leave, but the look he gave her when he saw her rooted her to the spot. She loved the way he looked at her, the real purpose behind the revealing yet classy dresses she wore. He could make her entire body warm with just his eyes.
She smiled, well the corner of her mouth tilted upward as she revealed a glass of scotch and handed it to him, "I owed you one." she replied unrepentant.

He chuckled and took the glass from her, setting it on the table. He would take her action as an apology, knowing he wouldn't be receiving anything more formal than that. Not that he wanted one. He pulled her toward him, forcing her to stand between his legs as he held her small frame and looked up at her. His eyes narrowed as he took her in, his hands trailing her curves.
The chemistry between them was undeniable, and he had hardly restrained himself at all over the past few weeks. But something else was creeping in, though Christian wouldn't acknowledge it. Diana was strong and ruthless. She was determined. Those qualities alone was enough to drive him wild. Christian continued to say that his purpose with Diana was to find his daughter, and that was true. But there was another purpose now as well. He enjoyed Diana's company, even when they were cursing each other and breaking things. He enjoyed her, all of her. She was broken and it was the most attractive thing he had ever seen.

Christian was right, this was as close to an apology Diana would give him for her earlier outburst. She had meant every word of it; Christian made her weak. But maybe, just maybe, she could afford a little softness in her life, especially when such softness felt so good.
She watched him as he pulled her between his legs and looked up at her. She was feeling warm again as he appeared to study him. She brought her hands to his head, running her fingers through his hair. There was something between them, more than chemistry, though that was great. It felt as though there were a string connecting her to him, slowly reeling her in. Every time they fought she pulled against the string, but every time they came together that string became shorter and the distance between them less. She vacillated between fighting the feelings and giving into them completely reasoning that she could call it off at anytime, but another part of her knew the truth. They were on a very slippery slope.

The corner of his mouth curled as he looked at her. "Are we staying for the weekend?" he asked finally, his eyes still locked on hers. It was a good sign that she had come to the bar at all, and an even better sign that she hadn't instantly started talking about the board members or Derek, though he was certain she'd already notified Burke about Sanchez. Maybe O'Grady and Ling, too, if she really didn't trust him or was simply too mad to trust him in that moment.

She gave a careless one shoulder shrug, "If you think you can keep me entertained that long." she teased.
She released a breath and sat on his lap, "Maybe you're right. I'm driving this too hard. When we do find Alyx, I don't want to be looking over my shoulder every second." she brought her hand to his cheek, "Maybe it won't be the end of the world if I learn to relax again." She didn't say it, but she was giving over to him, relaxing, trusting him. She wouldn't have to look over her shoulder every second if she had someone at her back that she could trust.
"Besides," she smirked and leaned in to whisper"I do seem to recall a certain promise I made before we left concerning what we would do once Hadelman was taken care of." there was a telling smirk on her lips and mischievous glint in her eyes.

Christian was pleased she had taken the time in the hotel to come to her senses. They would be no use to Alyx all strung out, and Diana had seemed to be unable to stop herself. It had worried Christian, though he would insist it was only for their daughter's welfare. He wanted her to trust him, although there were still plenty of reasons why she shouldn't. But he was working on correcting what he could, the other things would just have to be kept secret and dealt with in their own time. If they were to be able to raise their daughter together, for the few years they had left before she became an adult, they would need to trust each other.
At her reminder of the promise she had made him, Christian grinned. He grabbed her hair and pulled her head back gently, exposing the length of her neck. He ran his lips along her creamy skin to her collar bone.

She melted into his touch completely and let the sensations take over her. Before they could get too carried away she told him about a private cove on the beach, and took his hand to lead him out of the bar.
They would fall into a familiar pattern of sensuality and ignore all the reasons why their affair was bad for them.
