It was just supposed to be a lunch with Jamie and Scarlette. That's all. Ama had a free weekend, finally one without homework and Jamie, who had been avoiding her like the plague for months, had OWL'd her inviting her to lunch.
That's when the truth started coming out and Ama sat there, dumbfounded, for a good hour, as Jamie told her all about his and Scarlette's situation. No wonder he had been distant, after what happened to their brother, Ama was sure their mother would kill Jamie when she found out. It explained Roland's secrecy too, and where Jamie had been all summer. He barely came home, and Jamie explained that he and Scarlette had been living in Roland's old place since they graduated.
He was still in the middle of explaining things when Noah walked in. That's when all hell broke loose. Ama wasn't sure what had happened between her brother and her cousin, but suddenly Jamie was standing protectively in front of Scarlette and Ama, his wand at the ready and pointing at Noah, who was doing the same, his wand pointing at Jamie.
Some people in the Three Broomsticks ran out the door, more did as Noah fired the first jinx. Ama took Scarlette's hand and ran behind the bar, ducking down as a blue flash flew over them.
Ama had to do something. Jamie and Noah were both hot headed and trying to intervene wouldn't do any good. She needed the older members of her family to knock sense into them both. "Stay here," she said to Scarlette and crawled along the floor toward the fireplace. Grabbing the Floo pot and throwing in some dirt, she called for the Ravenclaw common room, the first place she could think of for help, and stuck her head in. "Help!!" she screamed outonce the room came into view. The common room was empty, most people probably enjoying a nice day outside. "Someone! Anyone! It's Amandine! HELP!"

Liam was nestled away in his corner of the boys' dorm room, reading a book he borrowed from Hayden last time he was home. He was blissfully unaware of what was happening in Hogsmeade. He was even unaware that his cousin was in the common room, screaming for help, until one of his dorm mates came in.
"Mate, I think Amadine's in trouble." That got his attention, and when he was told she was downstairs, he took off, taking the stairs two at a time to get to her.
"Ama, I'm here... What's wrong?" She looked so distressed that he was instantly worried, maybe even scared. Someone was probably hurt by the lake or something, and he didn't know how much help he could be, but a yuck assessment said that she at least was okay.

"Liam!" Ama ran to her cousin. "Liam you have to come help...three broomsticks...Jamie...Scarlette's pregnant...Hogsmeade...Noah...dueling...help," she was hysterical, crying and shaking, gripping onto Liam's shoulders, trying to makes sense. She took a deep breath. "Noah and Jamie are going to kill each other Liam." She finally got a sentence out, crying.

It took a couple of tries and a lot of concentration to figure out what Ama was talking about, but he managed, especially after she was able to take a deep breath. While he doubted his two cousins would kill each other with what had to amount to jelly legs curses, he knew the situation would be volatile and that someone would end up at least injured. He remained quiet, nodding at Ama, a sign to say let's go. When he got there, he could temper the situation. They were all just kids, and the severity of the situation hadn't dawned on him yet. He didn't know yet that he needed to get others involved.

Ama took Liam's hand and dragged him to the fireplace. There was a secret place on the Ravenclaw mantel where there was a stash of floo powder for emergencies. Jamie had shown it to her after Roland had "died." She reached into it now and threw some into the fire. "The Three Broomsticks."
She grabbed tight to Liam and pulled him in with her. When they arrived in the restaurant, many tables and chairs had been knocked over or splintered, Noah and Jamie were still going at it. Scarlette was where Ama had left her, crying, and Ama just looked helplessly at Liam. "Help." she said desperately, ducking down as a spell flew over their heads.

Liam took a quick assessment of the situation. It was one of the advantages of being as observant as he was; he could assess things quicker than most people.
He pointed to Scarlet, giving Ama a look that was pointed and clearly meant that he wanted her to hide with the other girl. When he was sure that Ama listened, he moved quickly to first try to stop the fight, then to move to Jamie's side when that didn't work.
The thing about this fight was that there was so much anger from both the teens that Liam couldn't keep up. They were going to get hurt, or an adult would come in and kill one of them.
An adult.... Was a genius idea. He turned but saw no one. That left only one choice... He steppe away, mustering all of his concentration to sen a patronus to Hayden, because he would know what to do.

Hayden just finished making a sandwich in his kitchen. Today was one of those few days that he had off. He thought about going to go see Nathalia a little while later to see how she was doing. Things seemed to be going pretty well with her. After all, she had not yet slapped him or cursed him. Hayden looked at that as a good thing.
Just as he lifted his sandwich to take a bite, a patronus entered his apartment. Hayden knew right away that it was Liam's. He listened to the message and dropping his sandwich, he apparated to The Three Broomsticks right away. The ordeal at The Three Broomsticks was not going to end well, he knew that.
Once he reached The Three Broomsticks, Hayden looked to Liam, then noticed Ama and Scarlet hiding. Looking to the two boys, there was so much anger between the two even Hayden could feel it. "Get them out," he said to Liam nodding to Ama and Scarlet. "And get Roland."

Liam could handle that.
It was a relief to see his brother, who, while always protective and good for guidance, also had the advantage of being an Auror. Now that he was here, things would be okay, because nothing could go wrong. Hayden was stronger than both younger boys.
He moved towards the girls, physically lifting Scarlette to her feet, and nodding for Ama to follow. He didn't want either of the girls getting hurt, but Scarlette was very pregnant (not a surprise to him, but nothing he'd ever mentioned, either) and so with the two girls, there were three bodies Hayden gave him responsibility over.
When he had them outside, he couldn't get Scarlette far enough away to be entirely out of danger. Frankly, he was surprised he even got his cousin outside. Satisfied for the moment, he sent his second patronus of the day to Roland, though this one was weaker than his first. He prayed Roland would get here soon.

Roland was at work at the Ministry when the patronus floated into the office. It wasn’t very well-defined; it was somewhat fuzzy and hard to make out. But everyone looked up at it and watched as it stopped at Roland’s desk and spoke in a slightly garbled voice that sounded vaguely like Liam’s. Roland wasn’t able to make all of it out, but he did hear the words “Jamie” and “Noah” and “Three Broomsticks.”
Roland hesitated for a minute. Since the message was unclear, he didn’t get the full urgency of the situation. On the other hand, if it was Liam’s patronus, that was almost reason enough for him to go, because Liam would not be sending a message by patronus if the situation wasn’t urgent. But Roland had heard Liam’s voice so rarely that he wasn’t entirely sure it was him.
Still, it probably couldn’t hurt to check out the situation. Deciding it was better to be safe than sorry, he stood up and headed to the apparation area. He felt like he should contact Riley, but there wasn’t time. He just hoped that the situation wasn’t too serious after all…
(Trying to move this along. And I wasn't sure what Roland and Riley's status would actually be at this point, but even if they're still--or back--together, she would most likely be out on maternity leave anyway.)

Scarlette didn't have the energy to fight Liam, who was a lot stronger than his quiet, reserved appearance would suggest. He lifted her off the ground entirely, getting both her and Amandine outside and out of harm's way- for the most part.
"No," she struggled to say, suddenly voicing her protest to the Ferrera boy. "No, he needs us. We need to go help!" It was suddenly desperately urgent that she be close to Jamie, even though all logic told her that he was fine. Hayden would break up the fight, and they would have nothing to worry about.
As soon as Liam set her on her feet, she grabbed at her stomach, nearly doubling over and reaching towards Liam with her free hand, before quickly adding, before anyone could ask, "I'm okay. Just a strong kick, I guess. Let's please go inside."

Liam reached for Scarlette as soon as he'd set her on her feet. She looked like she was in pain, but she was waving it off and begging him to go back inside. Hayden had told him very clearly to get the girls out here, and he was going to listen, do as he was told, because it if were between Scarlette and Hayden? Hayden would have a much better chance at calming the situation that she would.
Almost seconds later, he heard the familiar 'pop' of an apparation, and turned to his see his cousin, Roland. "Inside," he said, point, one arm still supporting Scarlette. Even his word seemed urgent, though he managed to keep a calm appearance. Two adults were here. Nothing bad was going to happen.

Scarlette watched as Roland arrived, rushing inside at Liam's direction. She had a really bad feeling, but maybe that was whatever was happening in her stomach.
It wasn't a really strong kick. Granted, Scarlette had absolutely no idea what she was doing, but when she looked at Liam and said, "I think I'm in labor," she knew she was right. Her eyes were wide and scared, and the last thing she wanted was to leave Jamie. She felt it in her bones that she needed to be here with him.

Liam wasn't sure he heard her correctly, but when squeezed his shoulder and he saw the look in her eyes, he knew he must have.
"Ama, you need..." He trailed off. Needed to do what, exactly? If Scarlette was having a baby, she was in no shape to travel by floo or apparition, and he wasn't prepared to send his cousin off by herself. "You need to hide," he said at length, pushing them both back. Scarlette at least seemed distracted now from trying to get back inside.
"I'll get help." Whatever that meant. When Hayden and Roland stopped whatever was happening inside, they could help Scarlette. He pushed open the door to go back inside, assuming things were being dealt with.
