Personality: Wyatt is extremely intelligent and studious, often seen with his head in a book. But that doesn't mean he's a bookworm. If you approached him, you would find him talkative, friendly, cocky and maybe just a little bit arrogant. Yes, he's a smart kid and he knows it. He takes pride in being smarter than his peers. Unlike many overachievers, he never beats himself up thinking that he could have done better. No... he never misses the opportunity to pat himself on the back for a job well done. He accepts praise and compliments with false humility, and only because he must appear polite. But in his head he is thinking that the praise is well-earned. Yet he also doesn't rest on his laurels. He's continually working to keep up his success, because he believes he is worth it.
When he was younger, Wyatt freely admits he was a bit awkward. He'd even go so far as to say he was a "boffin" (British term similar to nerd) when he was kid. He was small and pudgy, with a round face. But a growth spurt in his 5th year did him a lit of good. Suddenly, he was handsome, and girls started to notice him. This he also believes is deserved. Yes, he knows he's grown into an attractive guy, and he enjoys the attention from girls. Sometimes he'll even tease or flirt with a girl if he thinks she's cute. If he finds a girl who doesn't act interested at all, he may actually even pursue her, just to get her attention. He may lose interest once he gains hers.
He has a lot of friends, but many of those he calls friends find him insufferable. That's OK, though, because he thinks they are idiots. He likes to surround himself with people who aren't as smart as he is, so that he looks even smarter in comparison. That was why he wanted to be in Slytherin, because he wouldn't stand out as much in Ravenclaw. Still, every so often, he does start to crave some actual intelligent conversation, and he has a few Ravenclaw friends that he likes to talk to, just to give himself a challenge.
Family
- Mother: Patricia Templeton (deceased)
- Father: Elwood Templeton, 42
- Siblings (if any, list names and ages): None
- Other family members (if significant): None
History: Wyatt was born into a very wealthy, pureblood family. The marriage between Patricia and Elwood Templeton had been arranged, and there was little love in the marriage. They were married for 5 years before young Wyatt was even born, because children weren't a priority for the couple. Elwood was busy with the family business, manufacturing magical supplies, and Patricia was busy spending the family's money. After Wyatt was born, however, she spent more time in the house with the child and seemed to lose interest in going out at all. She was suffering from a terrible depression, and her husband's frequent business trips and late nights didn't help the matter.
One day, in a fit of insanity, Patricia tried to drown young Wyatt in the bathtub, but his magical powers kicked in, causing him to levitate away from her. Realizing what she had nearly done, Patricia had herself checked into an institution and died a few years later. Wyatt was 5 years old when she died, and doesn't remember her at all, but his father won't let him forget what she did. He mentions it constantly as a reminder that people cannot be trusted. In the end, you can only trust yourself.
Wyatt saw little of his father growing up. He was mostly raised by nannies until he was old enough to go off to Hogwarts. He was a bookish child, always reading and studying even before he started school. He believes that knowledge is power, therefore he wants to know as much as possible.
At Hogwarts, Wyatt was sorted into Slytherin, by his own choice. He could have been sorted into Ravenclaw, but he felt that Slytherin could better support his ambitions.
He's a smart kid and a nearly exemplary student, and as such, something of a misfit in Slytherin. But again, he feels that being smarter than his peers gives him a position of power above them.
Anything else?
