Appearance:
- Brief Description: She has inherited most of her looks from her mother's family. Her mother has roughly the same hair, build and skin tone as Magdalena. The only two things she inherited from her paternal family are her eyes and height. Her mother's family are rather short. She is almost traditional Spanish but has inherited some of her father's Portuguese family in her accent and style of hair.

Personality (At least 4 sentences, but longer is preferred): She is is a very independant person. She can make up her own mind and once she has, she sticks to it. She is very intelligent and is quadlingual, she speaks Spanish, English, Portuguese and Polish. But, she only speaks Polish semi-fluently. She is a very talkative and friendly person who is willing to help most people and this can make her slightly naive. Another one of her traits is the fact that she is persuasive. She learned a lot from her mother, a hair-potion saleswoman. She believes that she could easily persuade anyone within five minutes of her talking.
That leads to her slightly worse traits. She is vain. She believes that she is better than everyone else in practically everything. She could really use some being dragged back down to earth. She also holds grudges easily. If someone does something to her, she'll remember it and often never forgive. She is also very bossy. If she thinks something isn't going the way she wants it, she'll boss it around until she's practically brainwashed it. And because of this, she blocks people. If someone's talking to her that she doesn't like, she won't say a thing and go about her business.

History (At least 4 sentences): Magdalena was born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1951 to a Muggle-born potions saleswoman and her Pureblood husband, Junior Undersecretary to the Portuguese Minister for Magic. Magdalena's grandmother, Ines Reyes Salazar/Agnieszka Szapalow, intervened with her naming and managed to get a biblical name for her. She was named for Ines/Agnieszka's personal favourite saint, Maria Magdalena. Because of this, Magdalena was given a very Catholic upbringing by her grandmother. Magdalena was very close to all her family but was constantly confused. Her father was half-Portuguese, half-Spanish and her mother was full Spanish but they were living in Portugal. Magdalena loved Portugal but she always loved going to Spain and Poland to visit family. Eventually, her grandmother took her to Rome to see the Vatican. Her parents weren't overjoyed about this. They were agnostic but behaved like Catholics to avoid neighbours being suspicious. At the age of 11, Magdalena was sent to Hogwarts to begin her wizarding education.
Seven years later, Magdalena was a highly qualified witch. She had Outstanding in four NEWTS and Exceeds Expectations in five. She got an Acceptable in Potions. But, the minute she returned to Spain, her grandmother forced her into the Santa Maria Convent in Toledo. Magdalena was horrified when she met the Mother Abbess. She spent two years as a Postulant and it was finally decided that holy service wasn't for Magdalena. Ines had told Mercedes and Pedro that Magdalena was touring Europe but they got suspicious when they went to the convent to visit Mercedes' family tomb. The nuns had refused to let them in until Magdalena was safely inside a crypt on her own. Magdalena eventually told her parents and they both went ballistic at Ines. But her grandmother's force didn't stop there. Magdalena went on holiday with some friends to Italy but Ines was constantly interfering and almost tried to force Magdalena into holy service again.
Finally, Magdalena, Pedro, Mercedes and Rosario moved to England to escape Ines's religious mania. Rosario didn't have to move very far because she spent most of her time at Hogwarts. Magdalena and Rosario were getting slowly worried about their parents. The girls had only just discovered that Ines was really Polish and she had been a noblewoman who had infamously killed young witches in an attempt to consume their magic by bathing in their blood. Magdalena was then told by Pedro to tell Rosario about what Ines (now known as Agnieszka) had done to her. Rosario was horrified. Magdalena now lives a strange existence. She is trying to live her life, start a family, get a job and escape Agnieszka's old claws.

Professor Slughorn was seated at his desk, leaning back and nibbling on some crystallized pineapple. To all the world, it would have appeared that he was not paying attention to anything that was being said. Of course, that was not the case.
Slughorn's finely tuned ear was listening for any interesting tidbits of information that might involve the influential parents of certain students. It must have been a slow news day, though, and he heard very little of interest. He waited a few minutes, trying to hear what the Black boy in the back of the room was saying to his friends. Finally, when he was satisfied that there was nothing to hear and that all the students were in the room, Slughorn sat up and looked around the room.
"Now, then, students," he began, clearing his throat. "Can anyone tell me which parts of the dragon are used in potions? You there... do you know the answer?"
Magdalena had had a pretty boring day. History of Magic had caused her to practically fall asleep. Transfiguration had made her transfigure her desk instead of the slippers. The only good poitn of the day had been double Divination. But, she was confused. Every time she looked into a crystal ball, she saw a nun's habit. Maybe it meant that she would meet a nun and become friends. Nothing to worry about. And now her day had taken a great drop: Potions. She had only just been able to achieve an EE in her Potions OWL. The only OWL she was rather pleased with was her O in Divination.
When she entered the dungeon, she started thinking about Slug Club. She really wanted to be in it but the only fame her family could claim was that her father was Junior Undersecretary to the Portuguese Minister for Magic. How exciting. It was quite annoying, having most of her friends come back to the Common Room late from a dinner party. She had only managed to get into the Christmas Party because Joshua had invited her to be his plus one. She found a seat near the front of the classroom and started shooting sparks from her wand.
She was in that daze until she was firmly shaken from it by a question from Professor Slughorn.
"Erm, sorry Professor, could you please repeat the question?" She could hear a few sniggers from the back of the classroom and she could tell the four boys at the back were probably staring right at her, they liked doing that.
"Thank you Professor. Is it the claw, scales and bile?" She honestly didn't know. She had no idea how she would ever get a NEWT in Potions. It was hopeless.
