Profession: He changes jobs. A lot. But his real skill is with music... it just doesn't pay much.

Personality: Troy can be a difficult person to know. Sometimes he's charming and fun and likeable. Other times, he's wild and out of control. And sometimes he falls into deep depression and pushes everyone away who cares for him. He suffers from bipolar disorder (then known as manic-depression), and so he goes through extreme highs and lows. He should be on medication, but he frequently refuses to take it, and when he's not on his medication, he can be impossible to deal with.
At his best, however, he's sweet and funny and hard to resist. He's incredibly talented and has a unique way of looking at the world. It can make a person sad, to see how much potential he has and is constantly ruining it with his terrible habits. The truth is, he doesn't like himself very much, and it manifests in many self-destructive habits, from not taking his meds to drinking too much, partying too hard, not sleeping enough, and pushing people away when they get too close.
His only true love is music, and he's devoted to it. He's been known to play piano or guitar into the early hours of the morning. He even composes music, and is secretly working on a symphony, which he hopes will be his legacy after he's dead. Most of his best friends are female, and women love him, even though he's gay. But he's only had one serious relationship with a guy, and it ended badly.

History: Troy was born in New York, in Greenwich Village. His mother was a jazz singer in local clubs, and his father was a wizard who admired her. Although he played the saxophone beautifully, he didn't care for performing, preferring to watch Priscilla sing. They fell in love, got married, and all seemed well. But Ralph's work at the American Ministry got him into trouble, and he died under mysterious circumstances when Troy was only two years old. Devastated, Priscilla moved to England to be near her only living relative, her grandmother, who just happened to be a witch.
Troy showed early signs of having magic, but his greater skills lay with music. From the time he first placed his hands on a piano and began to play, he has had the uncanny ability to learn play any instrument he picks up within a few hours. He was the star of the music program at his muggle private school, and when he finally got his Hogwarts letter, he had to decide whether to pursue magic or music. In the end, he chose magic, but he continued to work with music instructors and programs during his spare time.
His first love is piano, and he plays classical piano a muggle orchestra, but he also moonlights as a freelance musician for local rock bands, where he literally plays any instrument that is needed. Since none of these jobs pay much, however, he is frequently working small jobs in shops and bars, to help pay the bills.
