Elisabetta sighed heavily as she made her way into the Slytherin common room. Her book sack felt like it weighed a ton; when she went to put it on the floor beside her favorite chair, she nearly lost her balance. Quickly righting herself again, she sank into the chair and closed her eyes, feeling the warmth of the fire on her skin and basking in it. The day had been okay; she hadn't had any exams, and the ones she had had over the past three days, she'd gotten good marks on. She was just tired, that was all, and as far as she was concerned, she deserved a good nap by the fire.
She was just about to drowse off to sleep when someone nearly tripped over her book sack. Elisabetta sat up and glared at the offender, a second-year. Muttering curses underneath her breath, she put her bag in an area where people were less likely to trip over it. She knew she should have just left it where it was, as it would have been hilarious to watch someone fall face-first onto the floor after tripping, but she decided not to, as she didn't want it getting dirty. Having done this, she closed her eyes again and allowed herself to drift off.

It was Harmony's favorite chair, too. And when she came in from a long day of classes (that she barely paid attention to), she liked nothing better than to lounge by the fire in that chair.
Since this was just the first week of classes, she couldn't really afford to skip classes yet, mainly because it would be too likely to get back to her parents if she did. No, she'd have to wait a few weeks, and even then she'd have to be sparing. There were only so many times she could get away with the old "time of the month" excuse that always made the likes of Professor Slughorn turn gray and give her a pass on the missed assignments.
But actually having to attend her classes and pretend to be paying attention was very draining on Harmony, and it always put her in a bad mood. So she was not pleased to see someone sitting in "her" chair when she made her way back to the common room, carrying her loathsome books. Scowling, she approached the chair and recognized the offender as one of her roommates. Her name was... Ellen or Betty or something like that, Harmony thought, wrinkling her brow in frustration.
Irritated, Harmony flopped down on another chair that was diagonal to the one she wanted. This one wasn't quite as soft or as big and it didn't face the fire. Dropping her books on the floor with a loud thud, she sighed in annoyance as she tried to position herself comfortably in the chair.

Elisabetta opened her eyes when she heard another person walk over to the fireplace and sit down in a chair across from her. What was her name? She'd heard it before...Harmony, it was. She felt a little smile cross her face as she saw Harmony trying to get comfortable in the other chair.
"Yeah, that chair's not the best one in the world, is it?" she commented, snuggling up in the chair she was in. "Shame...this school can afford everything else, but it obviously hasn't seen the chairs in this room. One comfortable chair and a bunch of lousy ones. Such is life." she finished, turning to look into the fire again and wondering how she could best harass more first and second-year students the next time she was out and about in the castle. The whole shoelace-tying thing was getting old, although it was rather funny to see some of the first-years cry in humiliation.
Her smile faded as she then turned her thoughts toward Severus Snape and how badly he'd been tormented by that band of buffoons that called themselves the "Marauders". Although she didn't know him all that well, he was a fellow Slytherin, and if there was any way of getting back at Potter and the rest of his goons, she'd find it, and then there would be hell to pay. The Marauders had messed with the wrong house.

Harmony ignored the other girl and tried to adjust her position in the uncomfortable chair, all the while casting a resentful look out of the corner of her eyes at the other girl in the much more comfortable chair. Unlike Elisabetta, Harmony didn't really care about house rivalries or tormenting first or second years. Harmony pretty much hated everyone, except for cute boys. And she didn't even care what house or grade they were in. Her parents and siblings might have cared about such trivial things, but Harmony really only cared about herself and only liked people who could do things for her.
Finally she gave up on adjusting her position and slouched down awkwardly in the chair. "I really should talk to our head of house about getting more chairs like that one and getting rid of these. Honestly, it's unacceptable."
Scowling heavily, Harmony fished out her latest copy of Witch Weekly and began to flip through the pages loudly.
