Rose took a deep breath and sat down. She was really excited to be a councelor this year but she knew it wasn't going to be easy the prejudices built up over the entire school year between Slytherin and Gryffindor were hard ones to overcome during camp, but somehow in the past her counselors always had been able to bridge that gap and sometimes even create permanent friends. That was Rose's goal for the summer, no matter what happened when they went back to school, at some point during the summer the girls in her cabin would bond together and hopefully some of those bonds would last.
She knew she couldn't possibly be the only counselor who was worried about being a good influence on the other students, she heard a sound and glanced up, "Hey" she smiled with a classic Rose smile.

When Gwen arrived at camp, she was a day early- well, at least before the students attending. The counselors were all supposed to come a day early.
It might have been fate that she was even here. She didn't intend on coming, but they needed another counselor, and she was looking for ways to delay her summer... so it worked out, and here she was. They had a meeting in about an hour to go over things, so she stopped by the counselor area first. Apparently, she wasn't the only one.
"Hey," she answered back, her shoulders easing their tension as she smiled at her friend.

"Thank Merlin you're here Gwen," Rose said coming off the couch," I don't think I could do this without you." she walked to her friend and threw her arms around her. Sighing she put her arm in the other girl's and led her to the couch.
"So, what's new?"

Gwen hugged her friend back tightly, wishing she'd been around Rose more in the last few weeks. Withdrawing obviously hadn't done her any good. "It's good to see you," she said, honestly, before she let go of the other girl and followed her to the couch.
She shrugged at the question. Camp had delayed her impending wedding, so she supposed that was a good thing, but she was still pretty nervous about leading these kids. "Nothing, really. Just not sure how to be a counselor. You?"

She shook her head no, "No idea what so ever." She smiled and brought the girl toward the couch to sit down, "Are you all settled in though? I've missed you." she knew that things were complicated with Gwen's upcoming wedding. She hd met Adrien once...he was an utter toad of a man. Handsome to be sure, but snails were more interesting.
The other unspoken thought occurred to her that if Gwen got married to the pureblooded prat, would this mean that they wouldn't see each other anymore? Some families of higher class definitely believed in separating the line.
