Ariesa had not been doing well at camp. It wasn't that she couldn't handle the activities, it was just that all of the activities were geared towards interaction, friendship and unity. It was social situations that she couldn't handle. During the making of Dream Catchers, she jynxed another girl's to shout suddenly when ever the girl was about to fall asleep. During the sing along, she sat in the back, causing people to randomly sound like a frog. And now, there was this nature hike.
She had already planned on "getting lost" during this hike, and as early into as she possibly could. So, when the councelor had led them all to looking at a pile of cockatrice dung, to figure out what it had eaten recently, she slipped away, further into the forest.
So now, she sat back, next to a small pond, on a fallen tree stump. It was quiet here. There was a small stream flowing a few feet away from her and the sound of the water moving over the rocks was soothing. It reminded her of America, really. She missed being back there. Her mind went back to the day her mother took her away from that country and brought her here. She missed the sun. Summer seemed to be the only time of the year that the sun even decided to try to show it's face in this forsaken country.
She hugged her knees to her chest, just watching the water and listening to the world around her. A tear dropped down her face as she continued to think about America.

Kent was required to go to camp. Okay...well not required. But the other option was to spend the summer back in his muggle orphanage, watching the younger boys and girls getting picked to have families. He was almost 16 years old, no one wanted a teenager.
But being better off here didn't mean he really liked it. The nature hike was the worst though, and he had tried not to go, but his councellor would have none of it, and he was dragged along.
He saw Ariesa slip away and when the councellor wasn't paying attention again, Kent did the same. He walked along, hands in his pockets and found his way to the pond. He saw her curled up by the water and approached her. "Ariesa?"

Arie was startled by Kent. She had been so focused on everything else around her, the sounds of the water and birds, that she had totally missed any sounds of someone else approaching. She jumped slightly, running a hand across her face to get rid of any evidence of a tear and looked back at him. Her blue eyes sparkled like the water behind her, but she still had that dark look she always had to her.
She wondered if he was going to tell the counselor that she had wandered off, and wondered what she was going to have to do to convince him not to. Trouble was not something she wanted to get into at camp. Attention was not something she wanted right now.
She remembered the boy in front of her. They had a few classes together at school, but had never really spoken. He was in Gryffindor, seemed nice enough. She just didn't like to be social.
For now, she just stared at him, wondering if he would just leave.

"That is your name right?" Kent asked, walking over and sitting a couple boulders away from her and cocking his head. "I've only heard the teachers refer to you by your last name." He could have sword that was her name though, but she was staring at him like he was crazy Self-consciously, he wiped at his face, wondering if there was mud or something there.
"I'm Kent," he said finally, stretching across the boulders to offer her his hand.

She nodded slowly, confirming that it was her name. When he offered his hand she looked at it a moment then slowly stretched her hand out to take his, very briefly, then pull back again.
"Ariesa. Yes."
She glances around quickly.
"Are you going to rat me out for leaving the hike?"
