So far her paintings had done well. Quite a few people liked her artwork and sketches and asked for personal ones to be done. McKenna was happy to do so. Today, however, was a day she had to herself. She thought about going to see Mia, but Chase had something planned for them that day, so she decided to go do her own thing.
Muggle London inspired McKenna. There were so many different things that were perfect and sitting somewhere in the middle of a busy London was a great place to get ideas. Today she made her way toward the Thames River. She liked to catch the Bridge in the background.
The bench she normally sat down on was empty as she took a seat. She crossed her legs and pulled out her sketch book as she normally did. A pencil held in her right hand, McKenna observed her surroundings. She had quite a few photos she took of the area and framed them to go in her living room. Now it was time to actually draw the scene. It was quite often that McKenna could be found here.
Drawing in a breath, she started to lightly sketch the outline of the Bridge.

(I figured we could be friends, since we're both artists!)
Not far away, on another bench, Shannon sat with her own sketch pad. She had a day off from the Ministry, since they only called her in when she was needed. It just happened that lately, she'd been needed quite a lot. But Shannon didn't want to think about any of that today. It was her day off, and she was going to enjoy it. And what better place to do it but sitting by the river in London, sketching the day away?
She came here quite often. Sometimes she sketched the bridge itself, sometimes she found little scenes along the river to sketch. And sometimes, if she saw an interesting face, she would sketch people. Today she was sketching a family of ducks as they swam in the river, with the bridge in the background. It made for an interesting contrast, and so far Shannon liked the effect.
As she drew the lines for the bridge, suddenly there was a loud noise from one of the boats that cruised along the river. Startled, Shannon jumped slightly, dropping her pencil. It rolled away, and Shannon scrambled to pick up her sketch book and chase it, but it fell into a gutter grate.
"Oh, no!" she cried aloud, staring down into the grate. "Now what?"
She sighed and stood up, cradling her sketch book against her chest. She spotted the other girl sitting there with her sketch book and walked over to her. "Excuse me, but I lost my pencil. You wouldn't happen to have a spare, would you?"
