Last time she had been left waiting for Derek who had later called and apologized, she was still huffy but she would forgive him if only to get more answers about her sister.
She had narrowed it down only slightly and knew that Quinn was somewhere in London, but Derek had more information and she was meeting him at spellbound tonight. It was her turn to be running late. Through all the research and the move she hadn't been getting much sleep and to her mortification she had fallen asleep in a public library having been awakened by the librarian frowning over her drool in a book. She apologized meekly and left.
After a quick shower she grabbed her purse and headed to the club once more.

Derek was waiting for her this time but he didn't mind. Acelynn was a peculiar piece of the puzzle seemingly unaware of the power she had. Nor did she understand her sister's predicament. It was like watching a child being introduced to a brand new world and for some reason Derek wanted to savor that innocence perhaps because his had so long ago been taken from him.
He smiled toward her when she entered the bar, noticing with amusement how she was even unaware of her looks and the looks that others gave her as she passed.

Acelynn walked steadily toward Derek, "Alright I'm here." she glanced at the bartender, "Jack and Coke please." she nodded firmly before turning her attention to Derek, "What am I doing here?"
"What no hello? How are you? Straight to business hmm?"
"Hi, Hello, Don't waste my time Derek." she quipped back.
He chuckled then tossed her an envelope. "Here."
She took it and studied the glossy photo there. She didn't know what was more shocking the fact that the photo was moving or that it was of her. No wait...not her...
"Rachel?" She blinked then looked at him in question, "This is Rachel isn't it?" The last time Acelynn had seen her sister she had been at an awkward phase but the girl in the photo who looked so much like herself seemed full of life, vivacious even.
"Actually it's Quinn." Derek provided.
"Quinn?" Acelynn was so full of questions but Derek didn't know everything. None of that was important, getting to her sister was.
"There's more."
"More?" Acelynn asked shocked, this was a hell of a lot more to go on than she previously had and she was grateful, "What more?"
"There's a rumor that a girl fitting that description frequents this club...you may be closer to your sister than you think."
With that information Acelynn took a quick glance around the room then a slower study of it, searching for familiar features, trying to feel with her instincts if she was indeed close to Quinn.

Luck was on Acelynn's side that night. As it happened, Quinn was not very far away from her long-lost sister. It was, after all, Ladies' Night at Spellbound, which just happened to be Quinn's favorite night. The drinks were cheap, the music was good, and the guys were all ready to dance. What could be better?
At the moment, she was still outside, where she was flirting rather shamelessly with one of the bouncers. It wouldn't go anywhere, of course, but she was such a regular that it was just a little too easy to flirt with the familiar faces. Korbel wouldn't like it, of course, but he wasn't here. And what he didn't know wouldn't hurt her.
"I could have sworn I let you in already," the bouncer was saying.
"That's not possible, since I just got here," she told him. "You're probably just getting your days mixed up. Come on... Just let me in and I'll save you a dance, OK?"
Of course, it really wasn't a question of whether he'd let her in. They always let her in. She was practically a VIP. That didn't mean she couldn't make promises that they both knew she didn't intend to keep.
"One of these days, I'm gunna take you up on that," he said, shaking his head. "Go on in."
She planted a wet, lipsticky kiss on his cheek. "And one of these days, I'll do it," she teased as she strolled toward the door.

Acelynn laughed quickly at something Derek said then slapped him on the arm, he was a charmer that much was true but Ace didn't have time for romance she had too much to do. Still it wasn't a bad thing to smile and Derek did make her smile.
Suddenly her heart stopped, it wasn't anything she saw or heard, but somehow she knew Quinn was there and she almost couldn't breathe.

Quinn walked into the club, completely oblivious to the woman on the other side of the room. Her only thoughts were of drinking and dancing and having fun. If anyone had told her that she was about to come face to face with her past, she might have turned and walked out again. After all, her past was just that--past. And that was how she wanted it to stay. She had been very young when she was turned, but she already didn't fit in in that crappy little town. And after... well, it was lucky she wasn't run out of town with pitchforks. No, she didn't care to think about her past or anyone in it.
She was almost instantly surrounded by guys--the regulars--but she pushed past them and went straight for the bar. "The usual," she said with a smile, winking at the cute young bartender.

She turned to take a look around the room, her heart pounding with every second that passed.
Suddenly without any warning her eyes zeroed in on her sister. The girl had changed, it was more as if she had transformed. Acelynn remembered the "ugly" duckling though she had always thought her sister beautiful, the vivacious creature that turned down men left and right left Ace shocked.
She couldn't move. Inside she was dancing circles and running toward her sister, but for whatever reason her feet wouldn't carry her. "I can't believe she's here..."
Her eyes glossed a bit and suddenly the emotions overtook her and she sat down.

Derek never could turn down a pretty girl, at least that's what he told himself when it came to these "good deeds" he had been doing steadily ever since he met Suzie, she had somehow reached past his outer shell and forced him to come to terms with himself. His best friend was an idiot for making that girl wait so long. If it were up to Derek he'd have that girl married and in a house lavishly cherished for the rest of her days.
This new softness in him was at times disturbing especially when it came to the female emotions, that was when he usually kissed them goodbye. He could tell that Acelynn was stunned right now and didn't know what to do.
"Come on." he said taking her hand and leading her toward her sister, "You didn't come all this way to stop here."
Spinning her in front of himself he gave her one final push toward Quinn.

If she could move she would have hit the man, as it was she couldn't do anything. That final push however shook her out of her trance and her lips quivered, "Rachel?"

Quinn hadn't answered to that name in so long that she had forgotten that it was once hers. Her memories of her childhood, before she was turned, were hazy and unclear, like something out of a dream. She had long ago convinced her that this meant her past had been bad, if it was not worth remembering. Surely she had been neglected or abused, or maybe they had just turned against her when she was turned. It was easier to think that than to try to remember.
Slowly, Quinn turned to look at the woman, not because of the unfamiliar name she'd called her but simply because she was standing so close. The way the woman was staring at her, it was as though she were seeing a ghost.
Yes, Quinn noticed the resemblance between them, but she didn't piece it together. She didn't really remember having a sister. So this woman, standing so close and staring, just seemed weird to Quinn.
"Can I help you?" she said somewhat rudely.

Acelynn had prepared for this moment a thousand times, she had rehearsed what she would say and how she would say it, she was sure that once Quinn saw her things would be better, that this long painful journey would be over, but she wasn't prepared for her sister to look at her like that.
Her mouth fell but she couldn't give up, "Rachel...it's me, Acelynn...my God I can't believe I found you..."
