Annabeth sat down in grass. She was very upset. Her mother did send her a letter, it said they were moving to France at the moment and she was going to marry Klaus during the holidays. How could she? She never asked her anything. She didn't like Klaus, he was like all the other guys her mother married: bossy and self-centred. Well, it wouldn't last any longer then a year anyway. It never did. She bite her lip, she just hoped he was also one of them. He was such a creep. Her mother deserved better. She just needed her dad right now.

Lulu was similarly upset, although those who knew her would have said that was nothing new. Lulu was always upset about something. But right now, it was worse than usual. She was more upset than she cared to admit about Danica's kidnapping, but she couldn't really understand why. Danica was annoying, always moving her bed away from the window and messing up the room. And she was always getting letters from her mother, and going home to see her on weekends, just because she could. And now Danica was kidnapped, and from what Lulu had heard, it was by her father. It made Lulu mad, because she was pretty sure her parents didn't care enough about her to kidnap her. And if one of them did, it would only be to get back at the other one, and they'd probably just leave her in a room and forget about her.
There was also the nagging bit of doubt in Lulu's mind that maybe it was just a little bit her fault that Danica was kidnapped. She should have stopped her from leaving that night, or told someone sooner. And Lulu would absolutely never admit it, but she actually sort of missed Danica. It was nice to have someone to argue with, after all. Or that's what she told herself.
On top of all this, however, Lulu's parents were apparently in the middle of another fight. This time they were fighting over who would take her for the summer holidays. Her father wanted her to stay at his flat in London, which would be boring for Lulu. He'd be working all day, and she'd have to stay with a nanny. And her mother wanted to take her to St. Tropez, where she would again stay with a nanny while her mother ran around with every man she met. Lulu wished she could just stay at Hogwarts.
So when she came out into the courtyard, clutching the latest letter from her mother, Lulu was in quite an angry state. She needed some air, and she needed to be alone. She was stomping, as she often was, and she wasn't really watching where she was going as she made her way to one of the little benches. As she went, she very nearly trampled on Annabeth, noticing the girl just in time to trip over her legs.
"What are you doing sitting there?" she snapped angrily. "That's a dumb place to sit."

Poor Annabeth didn't know what happend to her. "I... I am sorry" she stuttered. The little girl scared her, not many people would react like this on an almost fall. Her lip started to shiver, she didn't know what to do in this kind of situations. She stared at her legs, refusing to cry. Annabeth was extra sensitive after her mothers letter, and she couldn't handle anyone being mad at her at this moment.

Lulu rolled her eyes dramatically. "Oh, for Salazar's Sake," she said, repeating the phrase her mother had told her not to say.
She stood there with her hands perched on her hips, looking down at the other girl disdainfully. To her, tears were a weapon, a tool to be used against adults who were stupid enough to fall for them. No one here was going to be impressed by this girl's tears.
"All I meant was, you're sitting in the middle of the grass, and anyone could come along and trip over you. Really, there's no need to get all weepy over it."
