Chase was definitely the more outgoing of the two, again Aislinn often tempered all the raging emotions Chase usually had, that also applied to her spotenaety and outrageousness. Tonight Chase just wanted to forget about her uncle, forget about her family, forget about everything and just have fun which is how she ended up at Spellbound.
She was a regular there, any chance she had to get loose and dance was an escape for her, she took it. Although Chase had been out of the country for a small while once again because of her uncle she and Aislinn had kept in touch, but she was back in town and suggested the night club to catch up, have fun, and in general just be with her friend. They'd probably end up at the coffee shop later, but for the moment she needed this, and any chance to get Aislinn all dolled up and out of the house was a bonus.

Aislinn wasn't exactly one to go out. She much rather stay indoors rather than go to a club, but Chase insisted. She knew that Chase was not going to take no for an answer. In fact, her friend would probably drag her out of her room if she turned her down.
Looking in her closet, Aislinn found what she wanted to wear. Of course, it was still a little bit conservative, but it was good enough to actually wear out. She wore her hair half up and put on a pair of dangily earrings she received from Chase. Satisfied with what she was wearing, Aislinn left and headed to Spellbound.
Arriving at Spellbound, Aislinn felt completely out of place, but she knew where she could find Chase. She broke out into a smile as she saw her best friend. "Chase," she said as she reached her friend. "Hello!"

Chase just finished ordering a drink when she heard her name called. She of course was wearing something that complimented her personality, it was a bit more daring than what Aislinn had on but at the same time it was conservative enough. She wasn't here to catch attention, she was here to catch up with her friend and maybe dance a little later.
"Aislinn! Merlin it feels like it's been forever." she exaggerated and pulled her friend into a long hug.

It never failed to amaze him how much Aislinn had grown up. He had missed much in the past years without her, she wasn't a little girl anymore as much as he would always see her like that.
Now as he lurked, for what he was doing could only be described as "lurking", in one of the darker shadows Spellbound was known for he watched his sister and her friend. The ever energetic Chase. He wasn't sure how he felt about Chase's influence on his sister whether she was a troublemaker or not, but the girl seemed to be just as protective of Aislinn as Aislinn was of her, and that was enough for Chris.
"Another." he said absently to the bartender as he ordered another drink. He couldn't keep watching from the shadows...eventually he was going to have to come into the light.

Aislinn laughed when Chase embraced her. She hugged her friend as well. "I know! It feels almost like a lifetime since I've seen you! You look great as always!" Chase was someone that Aislinn looked up to. It was not because she was pretty, but because she was confident in herself. Aislinn aspired to be more confident about herself.
Chase had always been a sister she ever had. Paul was never around, and she needed someone. Sure, her father was there but there were somethings she didn't want to talk to him about. She wrote her brother every once in awhile but rarely did she ever recieve a response. She understood that his job was dangerous but she wanted her brother back. Naturally there was nothing she could do about it, but as long as she had Chase she was more than happy.
"So many things have happened since you've been gone!" Of course that included Mason. "How was your trip? What all did you do?"

"Oooh changes? Changes are good, come to Chase tell me all about it." she said hugging her friend back keeping Aislinn's hand in her own not willing to break the contact yet. Aislinn and Joe really were the only people in her life she considered family, and she had been gone for so long it was nice to be back home.

"It's nothing huge," she said with a wave of her hand. Aislinn smiled and rested her elbow against the bar. "I think father is finally going to officially add more to the menu at the shop so people have more of a variety." Of course Aislinn knew that was not something Chase really wanted to hear. Sighing, Aislinn could barely hold in her giddiness. She wasn't exactly sure what to make of the feeling but she wasn't going to really dwell on it the whole night.
"Remember that really quiet guy that always came into the shop that always ordered the same thing? The one you have pushed me on a few times before? Mason? We, we finally spoke and we have a date!" Aislinn let out a very soft laugh. "I shouldn't be like this." This time she let out a louder laugh. Aislinn didn't really want to talk about herself so she turned the conversation back to Chase.
"Tell me! How was your trip? Where did you go?!"

Chase was waiting, she knew her friend had something she was just bubbling to say, and had Chase been anyone else she knew that Aislinn never would have said anything, neither would anyone else look past what Aislinn was saying and remain quiet until Aislinn caved and told Chase the real news.
When finally her friend spilled Chase's mouth dropped, "You're kidding!" the look of pure glee on her face could only have been achieved by someone who truely deeply cared for the other's happiness. Chase had tried for years to get Aislinn to go out more often, to socialize and to in general participate in life. She pushed her in small ways but would have got fierce if anyone else dared to mention how shy Aislinn was or had they said anything bad about Aislinn at all.
"Nothing huge my arse! Aislinn that's fantastic!" she dropped her glee to add in a rather huffy tone, "Bout damned time too!" but the light wouldn't be extinguished she was really happy for her friend.
As she knew Aislinn would the conversation turned back to her--Chase had stopped trying to get Aislinn to stop apologizing whenever she talked about herself-- "Oh nothing exciting, same old. Just a few places Egypt for example, but really it was terribly boring." only Chase could say Egypt was boring.

"Nothing exciting!? Are you serious? Egypt would be wonderful!" Traveling was something Aislinn desired to do but she didn't want to leave her father at the coffee shop alone. Sure, they had a few workers there but for right now it was mainly just her and her father. He was really all she had other than Chase. Paul was always gone and she couldn't really remember the last time she saw him.
"The pyramids! The people! The museums! Everything! There is no way that Egypt could be boring!" Aislinn knew that Chase would find somewhere like that boring. "If Egypt was boring to you, what part of your trip was exciting? Even in the least little bit?"

Sometimes Chase felt bad for not having a grander time while she was out traveling the world. Especially when she knew that Aislinn would have had the time of her life out there. It wasn't that Chase hadn't offered. She had offered multiple times to bring both Aislinn and Joe out with her, after all that might have actually made the trip exciting, but she knew that Joe couldn't leave the shop and Aislinn wouldn't leave her father.
Chase sighed, "I don't know ...I had a little bit of fun in China." she admitted, although in this case fun=trouble. She wouldn't be returning to that country anytime soon which was a shame.
"But I'd rather hear about you and this boy..."

There was a small laugh when Chase said China. Aislinn knew her friend well. She waved her hand as Chase said she'd rather hear about her and Mason. She wasn't a huge fan of talking about herself. There wasn't really much to tell.
"There's nothing really to tell," she said with a shrug of her shoulders. "He's a sweetheart and he goes to the university that's not too far from the shop. He's studying poetry actually." There was a smile on her face. Mason made her feel giggly. Sure, he was a muggle but Aislinn didn't care. She rarely used magic herself unless she was cleaning. "Mason has a little bit of a stutter, but he's quite adorable really."

"So you like him." Chase said with a conspiratorial smile on her face. She was happy for her friend. Over the years of course Aislinn had received offers but Chase knew she was shy. Chase had had tons of boyfriends over the years, and she had cried with Aislinn time and time again through heartache. Chase wasn't really sure if she believed in "the one" anymore, but she still had hope, and she didn't regret any of those previous relationships...well maybe one or two.
"How's Papa?"

Seeing Chase's smile, Aislinn glanced away with a light blush on her cheeks. She had had her eye on Mason before, but thought that they would never really carry on conversation. She wasn't exactly sure what made her say something to him but she was glad she did.
"Papa is good," she said a little relieved that the subject changed. Aislinn met Chase's face again. "He's working as much as he usually does. Although I'm a little worried about him. All he ever does is work. He doesn't really get out that much. Sure, he gets out sometimes to see Uncle Milo, but other than that nothing that I know of."

Chase sighed," That man needs to take it easy." she frowned. She considered Joe to be her father as well she loved him and would have done anything to make him proud. For as long as she could remember she had been treated like one of the family. When she got a good report she would show it to Joe and when he was proud of her she beamed.
"Maybe now that I'm back I can pick up a few shifts."

"I've been attempting to get him to maybe take a day off, but he won't have it. He's just stubborn. He's going to work himself to death. Maybe I can talk Milo into taking him out, even if it is for just a night." Even Aislinn knew her father needed to go out. Sure, she knew he was worried about her and she knew that sometimes he could still be on edge about things they never dared to mention. However, she was more worried about him doing other things and not being so wrapped up in the shop.
"That would be amazing! We could finally get him out of the shop, or at least take the day off." Aislinn smiled. "Plus, I miss working with you."

"Well then the terrible twosome it is" she winked conspiratorily, "Papa won't stand a chance. I'll pick up the 9-5." she thought about that for a moment then laughed, "Make that 2-10" she knew there was no way she'd wake up early enough for a day shift even though the shop was open even earlier than that.
"I've missed you too Linn." she said with a sigh, "It's good to be home. I'll never leave again." that wasn't true, there was only so much of her Uncle that Chase could stand and when it got to be too much she'd have to leave.
