Gemma returned to London after the weekend. She did have a game in Scotland with the Appleby Arrows that past Saturday. She was in an extremely good mood since her team did win the game. It was probably one of the best games they had played all season. The scores were pretty close and really the only thing that caused them to win was the seeker catching the snitch. It was an intense game and that was the games that Gemma loved the best.
She reached Diagon Alley, in hopes of possibly finding an owl. Currently, she had her parents' owl that she used to send messages back and forth. For now, however, Gemma wanted her own owl. All during school she used the school owls to help save her parents money and although now she could very well afford her own owl, she still hadn't made it to the shop to get one.
For now, however, she was just wandering the streets of Diagon Alley. Nothing ever changed here, and maybe that was why she liked it so much. She could always come back here and know where everything was. Sometimes change was not always a good thing.
Walking along the streets among a few other witches and wizards, Gemma was looking to her right at the shops that were across the street, not paying any attention to where she was going at all. As a result of not paying any attention, she ran right into someone.

Adam, as usual, had nothing going on. He was going to spend the day sitting around his apartment, but when he opened a window he realized how nice it was outside, and decided he couldn't waste it sitting around writing.
Grabbing a light jacket before heading out, he thought of where to go. He thought today would be a good day for wandering around, and there was no better place to do so than Diagon Alley. Besides, he could always stop in the Quidditch shop and look around; even if he didn't play anymore, he always pretending he did. He really missed those days...
After buying an ice cream cone, he decided to window shop until he thought about what he needed. He normally wrote lists, but left in a hurry he hadn't the time. He was looking in the windows as he walked, and ran into someone, causing him to drop his ice cream. He backed away slightly and looked at his clothes, making sure they were clean. He looked up to say something, and noticed it was a girl.
"Oh, uhm... hi. I'm sorry, I... are you alright?" He asked, and frowned. Of course it had to be a girl. If it were a guy he wouldn't feel so bad... or so awkward.

Gemma noticed that ice cream was dropped and she looked up. "I'm perfectly fine," she said with a smile. "Although, I'm sad to say your ice cream is not." Gemma gave a small laugh. "I'm really sorry. I really was not paying any attention whatsoever as to where I was going." She glanced over his clothes, making sure she didn't cause any ice cream to get on him.
"Are you alright? I mean, other than the fact I caused you to lose your ice cream, and I am sorry for that. I will be more than happy to replace it for you."

Adam laughed as he looked down at his ice cream again. He was more concerned for her at the moment, and smiled at her when she said she was okay.
"Hey, the fault's on both of us since I wasn't paying attention either!" he said, and kicked the cone out of the middle of the sidewalk. He sighed as some of the ice cream got on his shoe... could he make himself look any more of an idiot? Adam shook his head, afraid to answer that to himself.
"Yes, I'm fine. The poor ice cream died for a good..." Adam stopped himself before he said something stupid, like it was a sign from somewhere he was supposed to meet this girl, or it was a necessary sacrifice for him to actually talk to someone as pretty as her. In his experience, girls usually laughed and walked away after he used a pickup line as uninspired as that.
"I have money, but you're more than welcome to accompany me. If you wanted some ice cream, that is." Adam said. "I'm Adam, by the way. I guess knowing the name of the strange guy offering you ice cream would be nice, huh?" He added with a laugh.

She laughed as Adam kicked the cone out of the middle of the sidewalk. She also picked up that he may be been a little nervous. The guy had no reason to be nervous. "I would love to accompany you for ice cream," Gemma said with a smile. "After all I figure it would be right after being part of the reason your ice cream fell."
Her smile grew a little as he introduced himself. "It's nice to meet you Adam," she replied back. "I'm Gemma."
